These people have scammed nearly EVERYONE who has crossed their path, according to the reviews on their Facebook page. It's a husband and wife team, the husband has a few staff and the wife makes the appointments. They're in WAY over their heads with dozens of "daily deal" offers, for everything from interior house painting to lawn services to cleaning (Living Social, EverSave, DealFind, and others). The first issue: They don't show up when they say they will. I confirmed the Saturday appointment on Wednesday. I rearranged my entire home to accomodate the two-room painting job. When they failed to show, I called and arranged for a new appointment 3 weeks later. The second issue: They are the most unprofessional people I've ever dealt with. The husband/company "President," Randy, has major temper problems. Granted, they are obviously stretched very thin. But when he called on the day of the appointment to confirm my address, and ask that I had purchased the necessary paint, he assured me it'd be 3 or 4 hours, and he and his partner would finish the job. When he showed up, he was yelling about how he was just there to provide an estimate. Um, it's a prepaid job, Randy, a voucher for two rooms' worth of interior painting? No estimate necessary, I've been living in a jumbled home for 3 weeks due to the major furniture re-configuration, and why did you say you were coming to paint if you were coming to throw a temper tantrum in the parking lot about how busy you are? While in the parking lot, Randy tried to intimidate me, and threatened to charge me a $55 fee, when THEY were the ones who didn't show up to the first appointment, and when he obviously lied about his intent for the rescheduled appointment. The third issue: If you don't believe me, a random Yelp user, just google their name and BBB. The Better Business Bureau has a wide range of complaints filed against them. You get what you pay for, and in the case of K&R Construction Company, it's not a good value, even if it's 99 cents for the deal. If you value your time and sanity, AVOID. read more

Do not use this company. I purchased a coupon for this company through Eversave. The company was unwilling to honor the coupon and eventually, I had to go through Eversave to get a refund. Eversave was more than willing to refund me, but this company was awful to do business with - I couldn't get through to their company, their phone lines were always busy or went to voicemail, and they simply did not show up or make any attempt to schedule their services. I would give this company 0 stars. And I agree with everyone else. Bought a deal through ever save for lawn maintenance, and they never showed. Left message after message, then they promised they would show up, but never did. Rude people, then they tun around and said i was rude. They're liars on top of being incompetent. BEWARE! THIS COMPANY DOES NOT HAVE A HOME IMPROVEMENT LICENSE IN MARYLAND! THEY HAVE A CONSTRUCTION LICENSE ISSUED BY THE COURT. THEIR CONTRACTS ARE NOT IN COMPLIANCE EITHER. I urge everyone who purchased a coupon for any type of home improvement to File a Complaint with the State of MD at DLLR. I was lucky enough to stop payment on my check for the crappy incomplete job they did. I've had the same problem as the other reviews with the lawn service. Was supposed to start service in May. No show. Called left messages. No replies. Finally got a hold of them and rescheduled. No show. Rinse. Repeat. My deal was through Eversave. I've contacted them and am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. read more

I agree with all of the other reviews. this company offered deals on numerous daily deal sites. I purchased my lawn care deal from Eversave - they refunded my money. Despite two phone conversations with the wife which resulted in a set appointment and a reset appointment, they failed to show. They do not return calls and treat their failure to show up as the customers fault. I do not know how these people thought that they could fulfill more than a thousand lawns when they probably do not have the ability to fulfill sixty lawns. Amazingly while they were not fulfilling prior daily deal sales they would put new offers up on another site. I know someone in the business and while it is just him - he has sixty to seventy customers and it is more than a full time job during the season. As with all the other complaints. I have had issues with No calls and No shows for appointments. My Mother purchased the Lawn Care service through Groupon. We used the Groupon scheduling to set up an appointment for 5/24/12 at 1pm. My father arranged to be home. No one showed or called. I called and left a message and sent an email. I called again the following week after not receiving a response. I spoke with Kathleen Harrison who said she was one of the owners. She apologized for the error and said that they did not receive our information from Groupon. I work with a company that has set up Groupon work before and know that it can be challenging. So I was very understanding and asked to reschedule. We agreed to 6/14/12 at 10am. She also agreed that the 4inch grass limit would not apply since we had arranged to have the lawn mowed to guarantee we would meet the requirements for the original appointment. She said they would still honor the service. I thanked her. On 6/14/12 there was again no call or service performed. A message was left by my mother and myself asking for a response. On 6/15/12, my mother received a call saying they would be there at 4pm today. There was no reason given. My mother informed her no one would be home past 6pm. I then tried to contact Kathleen to ask the reason for the missed visit and also ask that she provide us with at least a phone call if we were to be missed. No answer, I left another message. I left one more message before leaving work that day. After returning home from dinner that night, after 8pm. My parents called to inform me the lawn had been cut. They left the home around 6pm- Kathleen had promised 4pm. Our main concern was their lack of communication. Had we been given a simple phone call, we would've have been flexible. But that seems too difficult. I've called again asking for a phone call to discuss these issues. As usual, nothing. We're filing a complaint with the BBB. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Look at the other reviews. I had a very similar experience. Bought a Groupon voucher, made the first available appointment online (which was 4 weeks after the purchase), a total no-show. Called 4x and left messages. No answer. E-mailed Groupon on 2 separate occasions, who "reached out" and contacted the vendor, and got a promise that they'd contact me within 3 business days. Each time, promise broken. K&R is taking money with no intent of delivering. This is beyond poor business management, it is fraud. read more

I have had the same problem. I bought a groupon for lawn care and twice they did not show up. For the second no show, I left three voicemails all were unanswered. The deal was for 3 months (2 times a month) lawn care and it expires on August 1st. It is now June with not one visit to our house after first scheduling through groupon and then again over the phone with the wife co-owner. I have already lost 1/3 of the value of the Groupon. I have contacted Groupon to get my money back and am waiting to hear back. Do not fall for the same trick. If you are in the same boat as me, contact Groupon to get your money. These people are in way over their head and have no customer service. Their voice mail message says they are trying to get to everyone and that they are sure we have a hay field by now! They then say if you have complaints to leave them on the voice mail. Are you kidding! That should have tipped me off right away but since it was already paid for I thought I would still try to get them out to cut my lawn. What a joke! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I hired K&R Construction for lawn maintenance and scheduled service with them to start on 4/15/12. They never showed up. I called them on 4/16 and was told that they were swamped with work and would make it out on Thursday, 4/19. I told one of the owners that I understood, but please call me if they couldn't make it and offered to push the start of service back a month until they got the crew they said they were hiring to deal with the rush of new work. I was told we didn't need to do that and they promised they would get to me on 4/19. They never came on 4/19 and didn't call. I called them on 4/20 and spoke to the other owner and he promised he would be out on Monday 4/23. He never came and never called. It was rainy that day, so I waited to see if he would come on Tuesday, 4/24. He never came and didn't call. I called the owners again and was promised that they would come out on Wednesday, 4/25. I asked that if they couldn't make it, please give me a call in the morning. AGAIN....they never called and never came. I called and left multiple messages for them and was called back by one of the owners, Randy Harris. He was not apologetic at all about the repeated lies that I had been told and their complete failure to meet their obligations, despite my requests to just call if they couldn't make it or to push the start of service to a date that would work better for them. Clearly, they are incapable of providing the service they have offered and lack basic customer service skills. read more

***BEWARE*** I have never in my 50 years encountered a worse service provider. I advise you do not use this company. Randy initially seemed charming and said all the right things when supplying a painting estimate for bedroom and bath. However painting work was completely sloppy and shoddy, unpainted areas, spots on ceiling, on cabinets on floor. Randy got an attitude when I pointed out the deficits, angrily said "Oh come on". Everything I pointed out that needed to be corrected or redone he argued about and in the end DID NOT COMPLETE. Father and son tracked dirt throughout my house even after I asked them to be careful and to put down tarps. They showed up late and also did not show at all on two occasions. What was supposed to be a one day job turned into 3 miserable half days and the work was left not completed. I have to now hire another painter to cover the mistakes they made. I have taken a bunch of pictures and I wish I could post them here to show you how terribly Randy left this job! I would never use this company for any other work ***BEWARE*** read more
