this company was recommended by the Management company of our building . charged us $150 for the chimney and dryer vent inspection/ cleaning. was here for a total of 10 minutes. got a little bit of lint out of the dryer vent, and did nothing but look up the chimney and declare it clear. I have been going through it, attempting to find a chimney/fireplace company to fix my chimney at an affordable price. I received a few quotes, and after many referrals on a local neighborhood fb page, I decided to call Classic Chimney. The owner came out with one of his employees and spent almost an hour explaining what I needed to get done in order to have a safe fireplace. Not only was he attentive, but his price was cheaper than the previous companies. A few days later they came out and completed the work. They were professional, and respected my property and were very respectful inside my home too. I work from home and they had to pause occasionally while I was on a call. read more

They made a mistake and are refusing to make it right! And not a little one, more like a $5000 mistake (installed a chimney liner that is too small for the appliances -- what does that tell you about their expertise). I have given them ample opportunity to make it right and they just keep demanding more money. No! Save yourself the pain and use another company! Update: After I filed a BBB complaint they saw reason and did the replacement at no additional charge. So, okay, I'll up it to 2 stars. It's too bad the whole thing had to go down like that. I think I could have walked away a satisfied customer if their initial response to finding out about the error had been different. As it is, I still can't recommend them, but at least they met their obligations, albeit after lots of delay and under duress. read more

So...this company just demanded payment from us on the same day they finished work, even though this was a real estate transaction and there was nothing in their contract indicating that they needed to be paid on the same day they completed work. The company spoke to my wife with the owner cursing and yelling in the background demanding that we pay by credit card with a 3% fee today. They lied and said that our agent knew that payment was due on the date work was complete, but our agent never told us this. They also stated that they were told we would hand deliver them a check on the same day, even though we live out of state. Completely unprofessional company. I would never deal with them again and I urge everyone to STAY AWAY. I just hope their actual work is better than how they operate their business, but who knows. Awful experience! read more

Classic Chimney Sweeps has cleaned my chimneys for about 15 years. This Spring my wood burning insert was broken. Classic said I needed an expensive part. I paid, but next day had to get another person to fix insert. Jeremy at Classic offered to refund me $100 ,but after repeated requests to both Jeremy and owner Brian, no refund has been received. I agree with what other reviewers said. At first they were very attentive. But when they had to come back, they were less so, and by the third time they had to come to fix the same problem, they were downright unresponsive and defensive. Not a good sign if you're getting attitude from a company after spending thousands of dollars with them. read more

I am not sure about the previous reviews, but my experience with this company was terrific. They called back within 3 hours of me making a call, they arrived at the right time, and they were honest and professional. We have been having problems with our damper sticking and I wanted them to look at it, but with businesses I'm always prepared that they'll say it needs replacing because it's money for them. This company did not do that - they were honest and said the damper does not need replacing. The men that came in were very polite and professional. A previous chimney sweep complained about how dirty our chimney was - these guys didn't say a word, although I'm sure it's just as dirty as it was before. I was very pleased with this company and would recommend it. Perhaps they solved the problems the other reviewers had. read more

They did an OK job repairing my chimney, but be prepared to call them back several times. I had trouble with it leaking during rain. They came back a few times to reseal the flashing but it turns out that wasn't even the issue. I removed the chimney cap and found the cap had sunken into the crown before it was cured causing the crown to sink TOWARDS the flue, thus causing the leak. If the too in-a-hurry technicians would have just unbolted the chimney cap they could have fixed it the first time around- or better yet, if they would have done it right the first time I wouldn't have had to call them back. Since these guys are so incompetent, I just wound up fixing it myself. read more

My husband and I used Classic Chimney to inspect the flashing around the chimney for a house we were buying and Classic Chimney was great! They did reschedule the appointment, but gave us plenty of warning. There were available to meet our deadline for inspection of the chimney and they even sealed the flashing for free! The employees who arrived on site were friendly, respectful, and knowledgeable. I will definitely use them for future chimney work and would highly recommend them. read more

I spoke directly with the owner and he was very honest and reasonably priced. They did a great job installing a wood stove for us within a very tight time frame. I don't even know where to begin with this company. If I could rate them using negative stars I would. This is the most unprofessional, shady company I have ever dealt with. The customer service is horrific to say the least. They are quick to make an appointment and charge you however not so quick to return a phone call, answer an email or refund your money. They overcharged me for a chimney cap that was too big for my chimney. I had to have it replaced with a smaller one from another company. I have been contacting them for almost 2 months and have gotten nowhere. The so called "owner" of the company is very rude and frankly I am not sure how he even has a business. When I told him I was reporting him to the BBB his response "you do what you have to do". Ok, thanks... so now I am doing what I have to do. I'm telling everyone how shady you really are! He did agree to pick up the cap and refund my money however he never showed when scheduled to. He came 2 weeks later when I wasn't home and was looking around my yard and TAKING PICTURES of my home! When my neighbor seen this very suspicious activity, he asked what he was doing in my yard and was told "he needed to go mind his f'ing business"!!! SERIOUSLY? What professional working man would say that to someone? Also - why are you on my property taking pictures?? They left after my neighbor threatened to call the police. We tried to return the cap to the business on Belair Rd and no one would answer the door! We could see people inside and they had their company trucks on site so we know they were there! When I registered my complaint with the BBB I noticed they are NOT affiliated with them and the BBB themselves are pressing charges against them. Do yourself a HUGE favor... DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
