I am extremely disappointed with the customer service and overall professionalism at K & L Manor. As someone who has worked with multiple event venues, this was by far one of the most unprofessional and uncomfortable experiences I have encountered. I attended a wedding here in December that was scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM. Upon arriving at 6:45 PM, guests were greeted by handwritten signs stating "Coat Check $5" or "Keep Your Coat $10." As a guest attending a formal wedding, this immediately felt tacky and classless. Security staff reinforced that no coats would be allowed inside unless payment was made. There was no organization or preparation for coat check. Guests began piling into a single area trying to understand what was happening while the start time approached. Venue staff were clearly not ready. Around 7:10pm we where then told we could enter the hall, then immediately told we could not. This back-and-forth caused confusion, frustration, and unnecessary crowding. There were several elderly guests in attendance, including my nearly 80-year-old grandmother. Despite this, no accommodations were made to ensure she could settle into a seat. Guests were forced to stand and wait for almost 30-40 minutes before we were finally allowed in to sit. At that point, we were suddenly told that we no longer had to pay to check our coats, which only highlighted the lack of communication and planning. While the main hall itself is absolutely stunning, it was freezing cold once we entered. Side doors allowed a constant draft into the space, which again was not ideal--especially for older guests. Although the venue is visually beautiful, I would not recommend K & L Manor. Professionalism, clear communication, and guest comfort are just as important as aesthetics, and unfortunately, this venue fell short in all of those areas. read more

The AC is not Sufficient for the space. More importantly, the owners fail to realize that customers are the reason a business exists in the first place. It makes sense to show some flexibility and basic courtesy. Instead, being rude and aggressive toward paying customers and their guests is not only unnecessary, it's a very poor business decision. Every guest is a potential future customer, and the experience this morning left a bad taste in the mouths of hundreds of people. It honestly pains me to criticize a Black-owned business, because I deeply want to see it thrive and succeed. But this was beyond unacceptable. K & L Manor and the Owner Tracy are the most nastiest and unprofessional people I've ever met. I had my baby shower at this venue and it was the worst experience ever! First off it was snowing and the weather wasn't the best. They made my guest wait outside in the snow saying they weren't letting anybody in the venue yet. Mind you this is older adults, grandparents and etc waiting in the snow. Secondly, once the event started they told us we had to pay the 500$ security deposit and a 275$ clean up fee. No problem we paid it and proceeded to enjoy our event. A gentleman named Caleb came and collected the payment, as my shower went on Caleb is behind the bar drinking our liqour and eating our food and feeding the other security guards that were working. No problem! Later on during the baby shower he comes to me I am 8 months pregnant and asks me can him and a few people smoke and vape inside the venue. Like what? I am pregnant , there are kids present and older people in the venue but okay. So I told him NO! Fast Forward, he comes back and approached us again and told me that at 1130 the music was gonna go off and the lights were gonna come on & that we have to be out by 12 or we forfeited our deposit. Then 10 mins later he tells us he will let us party pass that time if everybody cleans up. At 1145 he tells my boyfriend that everybody has to wait outside so the camera can see the venue is clear by 12 o'clock and they will let us back in. Mind you ALLL OF my baby shower gifts, cards with money in it, food etc is still in side the venue. They locked us out the venue. As we standing outside the venue they are throwing our food in the garbage. FRESH pans of food that we didn't even get to serve during the shower. So they have us waiting outside the venue In the snow to get our stuff. As we waiting the security comes to us an tell us they not letting us back in and that we have to come back the next day to get the gifts and anything that we have left in the venue. Excuse me ? Leave my gifts? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! After going back in forth for about 20 mins they finally let us back in and get the gifts so we can leave. The security guard is still running his mouth like that's why you not getting your deposit back and etc. The next morning the owner Tracy called me and was basically trying to justify the situation and telling me she had to watch the cameras to see if we were eligible for our security deposit to be sent back. She also goes on to say that as per my contract it says this and that etc. So I asked her to show me this signed contract but yet she still has yet to produce this signed contract. Two days go by I finally reach back out to her about the deposit and she claims she still have to review the footage from the manor and she will get back to me about my deposit! Later that evening around 7pm she contacts me back with multiple screenshots of the footage from " MY EVENT" & a non signed Contract! Saying that as per my contract we had a room full of guest passed 1245 and that was a breach of my contract there for she isn't giving us back our deposit. When I replied back to her after she sent the photos THAT WEREN'T EVEN FROM MY EVENT, she began to get very nasty & hung up the phone on me and wouldn't let me get a word out. So at this point I felt you tried to play in my face now. Then I proceed to read her reviews via Google & etc she clearly has a history of doing this nasty greedy behavior to her patrons. I encourage ANYBODY that plans to have any events or ever plan to book at this establishment to Look elsewhere! The owner, the staff and the way they conduct business is completely unprofessional. Especially when trying to support a black owned business and they treat you this way. We spent 1000's of dollars on our event and got treated poorly. But then the owner being wrong and strong was the icing on the cake for me. Please save yall money and stay away from this greedy and unprofessional venue. read more

Would NOT recommend! Owner made promises of digital photobooth at rental never provided. Building cold, water in restrooms cold, hand dryer blew cold air. Kitchen sink broken, water seeped under the wall and ruined my guests clothing. Security was unprofessional to my elderly guests. Made elderly guests wait in the cold. Threatened guests and told several guests that hands and feet would be put on the next guest that spoke. I could not enjoy my wedding as the security was very aggressive to my husband. Owner sent several texts and voice notes to my phone post the rental. Owner also sent video footage of "incident" post the wedding. Business Bullying at its best. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. read more

The venue is pleasing to the eye. but security comes across as unprofessional goon squad. The event said it would start at 7PM, when arriving at about 6:20PM the doors and gates were down as if nothing was going on. We went to side entrance and gained entry. Then I went to check our coats and was told no one was there but there was a sign that said coat check was $5.00 but if you wanted to keep coat you must pay$10.00 which made no sense to us and as people were coming in security wanted them to remain in lobby where temperature in lobby was frigid. This was not a party where young thuggers would attend but a wedding of two mature people 50 plus years of age. The guests were the same age group with parents 70 years and above. It was abusive to have to stand or sit in a lobby of that temperature. The place should have been prepared by at least having heat turned on so people did not have to shiver in there clothes. Getting back to coat check I was waiting patiently for someone to either take our coats or at least explain security said something like it amounted to too bad so my son took his parents coat and put on hangars. Security comes out very aggressively and act like he was committing the crime of the century and why he was doing this, he told them that he was the groom and he probably said a curse word and left the area. One security person said, we are not gonna start the night like this and followed my son. an argument ensued and people had to intervene, I thought security was supposed to deescalate situations not perpetuate to makes matters worse. As the line got longer and longer and people began getting more agitated one security started taking coats for check. I know this seems like a lot and small occurrences but these things cannot be overlooked if this place should continue to operate. In addition the bathrooms were ice cold so cold that you could see steam streaming when urinating even water was cold to was hands. Then when I went to get our coats they put our coats on different numbers for reason I cannot say but I then had go inside coat room and identify our coats, this is just another sign of anal behavior on there part. I would not recommend this venue to anyone of age, unless they hire people that know how to engage with public with proper decorum. read more

My charitable organization held its annual Labor Day Sunday event at this venue. We were contracted to have the venue from 9pm to 3am. The first issue encountered was during the DJ set up - the acoustics were terrible. Speaking into the microphone came out garbled, and the music echoed. During discussions to rent the venue, we were told the air conditioning was optimized to accommodate 600 people comfortably. This proved to be false - the air conditioning was turned on at 9:45, then it became unbearably hot by 11:30pm, with just 275 patrons. Even worse, in the midst of patrons dancing, the manager turned on the lights at 2am, stating that the party needs to end. She proceeded to speak very condescending to both organizers and party goers, and instructed her security to remove everyone from the building. The security spoke very harshly to everyone and were very belligerent. For the above reasons, we do not recommend this venue read more

The owner manager supervisor CEO or whatever you wanna call Miss Thang is Very Rude and inconsiderate. You pay thousands of dollars to rent that place that's not even all that attractive and she has a very nasty attitude. I don't recommend this place to anyone. I was here for a baby shower on Saturday and there was No AC. Too big of a venue for that. Then the Management was Extremely rude to the Baby shower recipient.. Whatttt.. she's 34 weeks pregnant..she deserves compensation.. I will not be using this Venue for my Moms Retirement Party. Please cross me off the list. read more

I would not recommend booking here! The managers are nice until you have a complaint. For starters, they charge an arm and a leg to rent their space. I let the manager know 4500 for a baby shower was out of my budget so she agreed to take 3500 instead. The day of the event, there was no air conditioning and NO ONE alerted us to let us know the air was not working. We were only told the air did not work AFTER asking MULTIPLE TIMES for the air to be turned on. As a result, we lost out on certain decorations. Also, my guest and I were very uncomfortable during the event, causing people to leave early and constantly have to step outside. After complaining to the manager about the air conditioning, I was completely ignored. Two days after the first complaint, I decided to reach back out for some type of compensation as I paid $3500 to be in a COMFORTABLE setting. The owner then called me, a 34 week pregnant lady, being VERY RUDE and DISGUSTING stating that I could not afford the original price so so gave me a discount and that there was not enough people in the venue space for me to be hot. Not sure how she figured I couldn't afford the space as it was clear as day with the decorations, money was never the issue!! I just had a budget I wanted to stick to. Im also not sure how she figured it was not hot because "there wasn't enough people there for me to be hot, and there was more kids than adults there". Kids run around, thats what they do. Of course as adults we will notice how hot it is before a kid does. Overrall, the manager TRACY is RUDE AND DISGUSTING. My friend had a party the week before next door at THE LOFT and the same mishap happened with the air conditioning, the manager there compensated her the same night and was very respectful about it! I wouldn't recommend booking with them. The owner, Tracy, is very nice until she gets the money. They need to communicate with their clients after they take your money. My daughter's baby shower was ruined because the air conditioner system was not working, and no one told us anything about it until we asked; instead of answering or speaking to us about the situation, we were ignored for three days until my sister sent a statement stating the issue and that we will take legal action. The owner then called my 34-week-pregnant daughter to be nasty and disrespectful, talking about how she didn't have the money to pay, so she gave her a discount. Lady, please, we had a budget, and you accepted, so what the hell are you talking about. Very unprofessional behavior. My friend had an event next door the week before at the Loft. The same issue happened with the air conditioner; the owner came that night and apologized and compensated her for the mishap.
