I got several bids, and even though Dallas Door Refinishing was the highest (not way over, but they were high) - I decided to go with them as they still use a strong, gel based paint remover. Misty and her crew arrived on time, did the work, and I was very pleased with the final results. Even in places where the wood was damaged / embedded with primer paint in the pores that could not be fully removed, they got it sanded down as close as possible and used a darker gel based stain to blend in with the overall new stain. It all worked out great in the end. I recommend these folks to anybody looking to get their doors done right. Now for small ding, and this has nothing to do with the actual work itself. I do wish Misty and her crew would wear masks to protect themselves against the fumes of the paint remover, the dust from sanding, and the fumes from the new stains and protecting overcoats. All work was done outside in the open air, so that helps - but of course they are working in close contact with the door surface. I am sure they are pro's and know what they are doing... but if its me, I'm wearing a respirator.
