Paid in full for fridge on June 28. Received Whirlpool side by side on July 3, by July 5 it was failing to hold temp at safe level. Replacement, same thing., exactly. Warranty with whirlpool but while waiting K & A did nothing. Except offer loaner for 4 day They sell scratch & dent AS IS. DID not imagine that included not working. Here we are 2 older folks living with cooler since July 5. If & when whirlpool decides to replace it will be none too soon. K & A is apparently done with us but I check in daily just to see if they have had a change of heart. We would welcome back the loaner. read more

The first crew staunchly refused to even attempt to get the dryer into our basement. A harrowing journey of 4 (4 inch tall, 11 inch deep) steps... in a straight line. They claimed they could not fit the 26 3/4in wide dryer through the 29 1/2 inch door. Then they claimed there was a hand rail in the way... I had removed the hand rail the pervious night and left it out of the way in a separate area. When I pointed out both that I knew those measurements, and that the hand rail in question was disassembled and stored elsewhere, they sheepishly claimed they would try "again" (read: for the first time) and a minute and 45 seconds later it was in the basement. Then they "couldn't find" the gas shutoff valve I pointed out to them. They left, a new crew come out two days later. They barely look around and leave, claiming they cannot use the valve. No clarification, they just "can't use it". There are no other appliances on the line after that valve. I paid extra for them to install the dryer and take the old one away. Edit: they are now telling me the gas shut off valve is not in fact a gas shut off valve. Which is funny, because I have now had an independent plumber come out and, shocking nobody, it is in fact a shut off valve. Twist it, flow stops, turn it back, flow starts back up. These idiots just had no desire whatsoever to do their damn jobs. I now have a nice idiot proof valve right behind the dryer for the next crew. Took all of 20 minutes for an actually competent professional to install and check everything for leaks. I will never do business with this company again. At every turn they were incompetent and dishonest. Edit 2: This owner is either complicit or being sold a bill of goods by his lazy employees. They didn't disassemble a blessed thing, They just never made any attempt whatsoever to bring it down the stairs the first time. When pressed to actually do their jobs it came down with no hassle, and no risk of damage to the dryer or the door. Just shy of 2 inches of clearance is significant, that first team just never even made an effort. read more

Nothing like having a major appliance fail, in the middle of a pandemic. When you have an additional 4 people in your household AND apparently the country is in the midst of an appliance shortage. Welcome to my life a few months back...... Washer died, like completely. There was no way of resurrecting this thing. I admit as I was (kinda) happy to see it go. While it was less than a decade old it had this reoccurring issue draining that even stumped the repairman. Time of death could have been more convenient though. I had no idea there was an appliance shortage. None, nada. I didn't even know that was a "thing" or a possibility. Before I went to any physical store I shopped online, which is where it first became evident that this might be a bigger problem than I thought. It was end of Nov, early December and Lowes and Home Depot had estimated availability for mid March - pick up or delivery. This just can't be. Then I remembered my coworker telling me about a scratch and dent store in Lancaster where he had gotten an appliance. Normally that's not the route I would take but I was desperate. K & A was located near the ReStore in Greenfield. It was a little hard to find, and parking could have been better but walking in I was impressed. Inventory was vast and not just for washers. They had a huge warehouse of every kind of appliance you could need available cash and carry that day or via a (scheduled) delivery. It was a bit overwhelming. I knew what kind of features I wanted and pretty much was looking for something with no bells and whistles. Washers have come a long way and I was surprised by all the technology driven features they now have. While they did have some basic, plain Jane models, they were few and far between and in a much smaller drum capacity than fit my needs. A salesgirl came over several times to assist me but really didn't offer much as far as information other than specific to the store (their warranty, delivery, etc ). If I asked her something about a particular model she read the information sheet, which I could do so she was pretty much useless. I did find the process of making a final selection difficult, comparing the different models and features. I probably spend more time than most as I was googling reviews and bullet point features on the models I had narrowed it down to. It would have been nice is that work was done already and featured somewhere on the washer in greater detail than what they provided. Also keeping track of which ones I was considering took clever thinking. I folded the corner of the price so I knew since many look the same. Bring a colored post it or something to keep track. I finally settled on one I liked and at the last minute before going to the register asked for it to be pulled out so I could inspect all the sides/back. (Remember this is scratch and dent). I'm so glad I did as this unit had a back that was pulling apart from a huge dent and the possibility of it leaking was probably above average. I was able to find the same unit but with only a small scratch for the exact same price. I do think pricing should reflect the damage but felt it doesn't. Overall I was happy with the process and hubby came back later in the day to get it. You pay first and must show receipt at pick up but I believe they'll hold it for 48 hours (paid). The warranty is factory OR one year/parts and labor through them. It's one or the other. Overall for the unit I bought I saved about $400 and no one would even know it was scratch and dent if I didn't tell them. I would shop here again next time an appliance fails even without an appliance shortage. read more

Jesus returned to replace a hinge that I didn't even realize was an issue, but he noticed the slight wobble. He could have simply bent the hinge back, but said he did not want to risk compromising the structural integrity. I appreciate his perfectionism. read more

Bought a clothes dryer at this location. It was reasonably priced, easily financed and the staff could not have been kinder or friendlier. Sisco even stayed late to help me load my new machine. The selection is almost silly, literally...it's huge, actually a bit overwhelming! If you can't find the appliance you want or need here, then you aren't going to find it. Very fair pricing on factory dent and scratch appliances. Recently wanted a dehumidifier and was loathe to pay the $350 Home Depot wanted so I picked one up here for $150 and it's worked great. Everything comes with a warranty. Great value all around. read more

Bought a stove the oven stopped working they came and picked up my stove the day before I was to get the new one they called and said they were gonna be here in a hour when I came home they had left a note saying sorry we missed you I never got a call saying they were here and my son was home the whole entire time no one knocked or rang my door bell which is a ring camera so of course I look on the video and they never knocked or anything they just left the not that was Wednesday now I'm without a stove til Tuesday they were rude and very unprofessional... I called here to get my dishwasher fixed. I did not buy it here but they were more then happy to repair for me. I had an appointment the following day. I was given a 2 hour window and the repair man called to let me know he was on his way. He was very nice and professional. They needed to order a part and I was not charged another service call fee for them to come back. I would recommend them. read more

Bought a washing machine from k&a this week. Customer service when we were shopping was laid back and hands off but fine. Can't speak to the washing machine yet as we have only used it once. What really prompted this review was the delivery from Nef and his colleague. They rearranged their delivery schedule to accommodate my work schedule. They were polite and professional. They went WAY above and beyond a typical delivery because they had to take a door off and remove part of a wall to fit the washer is the basement. They removed part of the wall with my permission after several failed attempts to fit the washer down my narrow basement hallway. This was a lengthy delivery and installation and Nef was accommodating and understanding throughout. We would certainly use his services again! read more

Great applicances but TERRIBLE customer service. I purchased a brand new Maytag washer and dryer. After installation I realized my dryer was not drying clothes properly. I called their service department and they came out to tell me my dryer vent was not hooked up. "Oh, and since this isn't a warranty item you owe us $75". After going back and forth with management, no one seemed to care that this fee was not disclosed to me until after the fact nor did they take the time of day to acknowledge my frustrations. I have bought many appliances and referred many friends and family to K&A. I will no longer be going back, buyer beware!! read more

Jesus and Michael came to fix my freezer. They were professional and friendly. They almost fixed my freezer and explained everything to me. They told me my freezer would be fixed in a week when the part came in. It still isn't fixed, the people in the service department are the worst. They act like they are going to call you back but they don't. If you buy something from this company hopefully you get better service than what I got. read more

When Cisco and Jose delivered my new washer and dryer they were so polite and went out of their way to set everything up the correct way. Worse than the 10 yr old pair I just got rid of. $1700 "cosmetically damaged" Christmas present to myself that is SHIT. Less than the $2000 I would have spent but they DONT WORK and now I have to REPLACE MY FLOOR!!! I wanted to support a local business...this local business does not care what they are selling to the people of their community. The best they can do to resolve my problem? Sell me a different POS dryer bc their salesman sold me something he should not have: "if you have a vented dryer you should have stayed with the vented dryer" per Tony, sales manager when I called to resolve this. Thieves. How do you sleep at night knowing you are selling faulty machines? DO NOT BUY FROM HERE - just go to the big box chain. My experience was taken from our recent patronage with the Leola, Pa K&A Appliance location, so I cannot say this is a universal experience for both locations. Our washer had died and we were in need of a new washer. We arrived about an hour after the posted "open" time on the notes hours of business. The store seemed dark and uninhabited, but we decided to look around. It wasn't until we were inside that we noticed a clerk in the office area. They weren't rude, per se, they just were not very attentive and didn't come across as being very professional. We decided on a unit and the clerk said, "are you sure you want to buy that?" Which instantly made my stomach drop. Was I sure? I thought I was. The clerk proceeded to say that the unit had mixed reviews and assured us there was nothing wrong with the unit itself. I guess it was in the manner of which they spoke that I found very off putting. The Pros: The store offers a varied selection of refurbished appliances at competitive prices. The appliance itself was clean and functional. The delivery driver was professional and helpful The Cons: The sales staff isn't very customer service oriented Aside from the sales staff, the overall experience was okay- if I have to do it again, it's a toss up over going back or going to the sales pressure of a big box store. read more

This is a family owned local company that sells brand new appliances that might have a ding or something. I got a nice new Maytag fridge that would sell for 1250 for 900. I really like the new fridge. The delivery guys went to great lengths to get it in the house and install it including taking off the front door and railing etc. they even had to take the doors off the fridge. The people at K&A are knowledgable, they can point you in the direction if you are unsure what you want, they will sell you what best suits you and they've always been professional. I also appreciate that they were able to deliver my fridge a day earlier than scheduled. Thank you read more

I have never left a review online on any item. I cannot tell you strongly enough. Avoid purchasing appliances from this store. Purchased a Maytag top loader that leaves marks on my clothes. After looking at the machine, they say its running fine. Well, if its running fine, my clothes should be clean. Contacted them about trading the machine. They said they could not. They could come and look at it again, but I would have to pay the service call. Or I could bring it to them at no charge. When I bought the machine I was told it had a 1 year k&a warranty and after that it was covered by Maytag. Since this company won't stand by their product I decided to call Maytag. Guess what? This machine has no warranty on it at all! So K&A is not being honest about their warranty or Maytags's. Do yourself a favor and buy this from a company that has better customer service. We wanted to support a local business, but this turned out to be a mistake. Now we are stuck with a washer that doesn't do its job! read more

We had two appliances serviced by K and A and they were promptly fixed and the people were very nice at our home. HOWEVER, they said if we replaced the appliance (because it broke again) and bought something new from them they would give us 75.00 off our new purchase. So with two babies in tow in the pouring rain we drove there to support small local business instead of going to a closer big box store. They would not give us the money off and treated us poorly, stating we were replacing a Different appliance (a freezer is a freezer). I even spoke to a manager that evening and she dismissed us rudely. If you do not want to lose a customer (we would have supported them for life due to the great technical service we had from them) then don't back out on your word. we will now not give them a dime moving forward and tell our friends and neighbors. I followed up with a phone call to a different manager. He dismissed it. Again if the manager wanted to keep a customer he would have done something about it. Very disappointed. I can't say enough about the warm feeling we had driving away with our first purchase from this family shop. I NEVER pay retail for anything, and sometimes my experience finding deals isn't great, but this experience was awesome and we will be back for sure. Mr and Mrs Sanchez took amazing care of us listening to what we wanted and then making us a deal on our purchase. Mrs. Sanchez was very patient with us showing us all around the warehouse until we found exactly what we wanted. We got tired of buying brand new appliances only to have something go wrong the day after the warranty expires so we bought a used washer at the Leola location. Just a small building, no frills and NO pushy salespeople! We picked a washer in our price range and were thrilled to find out they come with a 13 month guarantee! If they can't fix it, they will replace it with an equally priced option. Free delivery and they took my old one away. Guess what? 7 months in and something was not working right. They had a repairman out the next day. He couldn't find the problem so the day after that they came out and picked it up. Two days later we got a call saying it is fixed and they will be bringing it back. You can't beat turn-around time like that! It was great! It is running wonderfully and when my refrigerator finally quits, I am headed back to K & A to buy a "new" one! read more

I have an older refrigerator freezer that we use as a back up and for beer. Recently we started having problems with ice forming in the freezer and the refrigerator would not get cold. We've had this refrigerator for a while and I was concerned that we would pay more for repair in the refrigerator is worth. I took a chance on K and A because I did not have any idea about local repair services. I was totally impressed with The service and the price. The technician arrived when he said he would, he was extremely friendly, competent, neat, efficient and knowledgeable. He successfully diagnosed The problem made the repair and cleaned up.
