It's a shame to give this Groomer one star, because she is somewhat talented. She is, however extremely exceedingly rude. She complained about missed appointments that were paid for. Two weeks after the death of my son on which day I had a dog grooming appointment that had to be canceled, she had my mother in tears with her rudeness. I certainly don't mind finding another groomer after at least 15 years, but this woman knew my number. It was exceedingly cruel to embarrass and berate my elderly mother in the parking lot in front of other people. read more

Once again excellent results with both of our border collies. Have been going here for years. Their newer location is further from home but when you find a groomer that cares for the dogs and listen to what you ask them to do the drive is not bad! Girlfriend took my dog to K9 for grooming. Dog came home sooo UGLY that I didn't even recognize him! They claimed that they could not brush him out and they had to shave him. I KNOW that I can brush him out, it just takes some time and a lot of effort. But, isn't that why you pay for the service? If it was easy or simple, then it would be free or I would just do it myself! Took my dog for the first time today to get his nails trimmed and had the worst experience. My dog is a rescue so he is very skittish due to being abused. Also his last groomers hurt him. I have finally found someone, her name is Kari Williams, the owner of K-9 Central, dog And cat groomer who is the mightiest of all the groomers To handle our sweet pup Jimmy. He is two years and 25 lbs of muscle. Loves the baths we give him , but could never manage cutting his nails, his 35 lbs became 325 lbs. We have tried, several other groomers also in our Reno/Sparks area and told he would have to be given sleeping meds so on a hunch while nearby we went in and soon found Keri the dog whisperer, at first he screamed, fought, then she told him she was the boss and maintained it through the whole process, and for a small gal I was very impressed. His fight was wild and settled somewhat at the end. Keri says two more visits and he will be a gentleman. I'm so happy I could cry!!!! read more

I was there as a potential vendor today, she was RUDE to me, but hey that happens everyday. The way she handled the small dog she was trimming is the nail in the coffin as to why I would never use Kari as my dog groomer. I've seen other groomers use TLC. They may or may not be my customers but they were kind to me and fur babies so I'd throw my business to them not K-9. read more

If I could rate this a zero I would. This place is unclean. My pup came out of there last time with razor burns and cuts everywhere. They cut him on nails to bleed. The cut was splotched and uneven and my dog was shaking. Never take or refer this place to anyone. It's dirty and use the same water to wash all dog In same wash. read more

Came in the other day to have my dog groomed and had to turn away after I heard the proprietor screaming and cursing at the dog she was grooming when I arrived. Very unprofessional. This is the worst dog washing establishment that I have ever been to. It smells horrible. You get to lift you dog in a dirty bathtub, wash them with water with a tiny drop of soap in it out of a disgusting bottle that looks like it was dug out of a garbage can. They won't even let you cut your own dogs nail, but they will do it if you pay them. They say it's a liability??? Im a licensed vet tech., "do you have your license with you?", umm no I don't just carry it around... It's MY dog! The only liability that she should be worrying about is my dog or another dig waking out of there with an illness from how gross that place is! read more

THE WORST!!!! If you care about your pet you should not take it to this Dog grooming hell. When I entered the shop the lady in front (found out she is the owner) was yelling at one of her other groomers, telling a dog to shut up it was bad. I waited calmly and explained to her what I wanted for my long hared dog. NO SHAVE!! when I returned my beautiful dog was shaved. Rather then arguing I did some research and found out from other previous customers that all she does is shave dogs. She has no formal training and gets them in and out with all the same cut :( Also as I was leaving the building she began to say to the other employee "O,well he not fucking happy not my problem ,blah blah blah" I had herd enough and scene enough. I will NEVER be back and recommend if you love your dog like I do then you do not go there! P.S. The shop reeked of cigarette smoke. read more

I was appalled when I walked in. I had read some great reviews, but those people must have been mistaken. The owner reeked of alcohol and the building smelt strongly of cigarettes. This is not an environment that anyone should leave their animals in. The owner was screaming at the dog she was grooming when I walked in and I just wanted to take that dog home with me because of the abuse it was receiving from her. We've been taking pets to Kari for years. She's an awesome groomer, and has a wonderful staff to deal with. Highly recommend these people if you want your pet groomed. Also they are notorious for making room on a short appointment schedule or a pop in visit. Would highly recommend this place to anyone. read more

I called and they got my Yorkie in that afternoon. He was, sadly, matted and full of rose bush thorns. I was grateful for the appointment but when he walked out happy (he hates the groomers) I was ecstatic. They answered questions and even let me know they had special set ups for puppies. I had my Schnauzer in this shop a few months ago. The owner seemed to be very nice. It was my first visit. I did explain to her that my dog was sensitive on her back legs, she is 10 so has some arthritis issues. She shave my dog so short that she was cut on her face, legs and her skin was literally pink showing through. She was in such a hurry that she cut 3 of her back nails so short the bled all over my car on the was home. I called her immediately when I got home and she said she went out of her way to be nice to my dog. I told I would certainly hope you would you are in the pet business. My schnauzer is a very happy friendly dog and not at all aggressive. So that statement from her was uncalled for. I would not ever reccommend taking your animals to this place, EVER read more

Brought our 3 year old labradoodle their for wash, hair cut and nail trim. I asked the girl not to skin her. So guess what, she shaved her entire underside and her butt down to the skin. Chopped off one of her nails all the way to the toe pad, It was still bleeding when I picked her up. Shaved her face down to the skin and trimmed the top of her head at about a 30 degree angle.Trimmed her flowing tail so it looks like a toilet brush. This is the worst grooming job I have ever seen. It looks like she was trimmed with an egg beater and a hack saw. I recommend that if you are considering this groomer please reconsider for your pet's sake. read more

I have been taking my cats and German Shepherds there for approximately 5-6 years now. I have nothing to say about this service but good things. The dogs are happy and so are the cats. Plus the pets look great, they welcome drop-ins, and the staff members and owner are always courteous and friendly. I wouldn't even give them one star. The lady that was working was extremely rude and was making rude comments about my dog . I came in for a nail clipping . My dog usually doesn't get scared with anyone . I have never had a issue taking her to get her nails clipped . But this time I knew something was wrong when she was terrified to go with the lady. I had to go back with her . The lady was extremely rude and put this rope leash on her and started pulling her , she began to choke my dog. My dog was absolutely terrified of this lady. Kari at K-9 Central is awesome. I have take my Siberian Husky there almost every other month for a bath and it is the only place in Reno/Sparks that does a complete bath. In this heat, it is hard to keep Allie happy and during the winter, it is hard to keep her clean! The staff at K-9 Central are extremely accommodating to us. I would recommend her to anybody that needs their dog groomed. Reasonable prices, great staff, incredible service. read more

The people here are so rude and un-professional!!! My dog is very timid and scared of all the loud machines. And instead of trying to calm him down they chose to yell at him, scaring him even more! The customer service is horrible! The manager said my dog was that way because of the way I raised him! My dog is a rescue dog, so I don't know what happen to him in the past. But I do know yelling at him is not going to help. She insisted on arguing with me, I told her I don't have time for this just give me my dog so I can go!
