Turns out my network card was fried, so the tech replaced it with an external ethernet adapter (dongle). He charged me $150 for the part which seemed awfully pricey, but I paid it since I needed my computer working again. Later I researched the cost of the part and found it was only $30 from the manufacturer and $24 from Amazon. After a phone call to complain about the price I was charged, Happy Computers agreed to refund $100 to me because "the price had been put into their system wrong." In spite of them agreeing to a refund, I don't think I would ever feel comfortable using this company again. On the positive side, my computer does work now.
