So I guess all I can do is share my experience and how Gina changed my life. I initially injured by back while playing volleyball in college about 8 years ago. I've been to multiple doctors, phyisical therapists, chiropractors, etc., yet none were able to clearly identify the source of the problem. Instead, I was given the typical western medicine treatment plan of pain killers and muscle relaxers to get through each season (if any of you were collegiate athletes, I'm sure you know what thats like!), along with the basic PT therapy (stim, strech, ice, repeat) 5 days a week. Not surprisingly, until I met with Gina, the problem never went away and the pain would still come and go - sometimes to the point that I was unable to walk. A couple weeks before our wedding last year, my back was beginning to act up, so my wonderful husband did some research and came across Gina and 3 Energies Massage. Although I was skeptical, as I have been to many massage places in need of back pain relief, my husband convinced me to give it one last try. All I can say is I am SO thankful I did!!! Gina did a preliminary assessment of my full body to identify problem areas. Combined with the questions she asked about my initial injury/problems, she was able to identify the source of the initial injury and a treatment plan....and it WORKED! when I walked in that day, I was unable to touch my toes, unable to bend or twist to my left, and in a moderate to high amount of pain. But after Gina's massage therapy, all of that changed. The best part was that it was a long lasting fix. Its been almost 12 months since I visited Gina and I have been almost entirely pain free with full range of motion. It has been lifechanging - I had accepted that I would just be in pain the rest of my life, but thankfully Gina has changed that. You may ask why I'm writing this now... well besides being a procrastinator... I managed to pull something in my back two days ago during a workout and I now know that I don't have to live with back pain - so I'm visiting Gina for another session :)

In several minutes she'd assessed problems I didn't realize were affecting me so adversely. This is corrective massage with trigger point release, not a froufrou massage. Gina did a fantastic job explaining what she was doing and why. Her communication about pressure and pain levels throughout was excellent. After the fastest 90 minutes of bliss/pain I walked out standing taller and was able to move my head and shoulders normally. However, no where in the fine print did it say "Subject To Availability" It merely said, "Offer expires April 21st" so I tried to redeem it before April 21st. To which she said, sorry but the offer has actually been no good since the 10th which was her last slot available. Sure would've been nice to know this when I bought it. Even though there may not have been a physical space available at the time, the fact that I contacted her well in advance of the deadline to schedule means it should've been honored. Here…read moreare some things that stood out: I have these HUGE Frankenstein-neck-plug knots on the side of my neck (you can actually SEE them if I bend my neck to the right or left). Amy worked on those puppies like it was going outta style! I kept wondering if I had the biggest neck knots Amy had ever encountered. (I hope "knot"! bwah ha!). Seriously though, I was able to bend my neck SO much more easily afterwards. It was all loosened up :) She used a lot of motion in my particular massage, which I found invigorating. Most massage therapists that I've been to for deep tissue massage use much slower movements and sometimes spend 5 minutes just applying unwavering pressure to a knot. Amy found my knots quickly and applied pressure that was strong and repetitive, which I prefer. Most massages also seem to go by so quickly. She spent so much time on my arms, neck, back, legs/feet and head, I really thought it was at least a 75 minute massage. (No, I didn't really read the Homerun coupon details). I figured there was no way all that massaging was getting done in 60 minutes, but alas, when the massage was over, I looked at the clock, and only an hour had passed. Maybe time stands still in there? Who knows! Amy also checks in with you during the massage to make sure you're doing okay. There was some small talk in the beginning, which is generally a good idea when you're naked in a room with someone. Stuff to know before you go: The door to the place is red, and you need to use the door code she emails to you in order to unlock it. I totally forgot about the door code part and waited on the steps next door. I started thinking, "Hmm, is she gonna meet me out front?", but then I checked my phone for the confirmation email she sent, noted the info about the door code, and was all, "Duh!". After you get through the red door, the waiting area is a cozy, well lit hallway lined with chairs and small tables on the left and private rooms on the right. My appointment was scheduled to be in the "Sun Room", which is all the way at the end of the hall. (The names of the rooms are written inside the door frame). There's a bathroom and water cooler too. Madds is very attuned to the specific needs of my body at that moment in time and seems to know exactly what to do (using different techniques) to work through my tension.
