All's well at Chinguacousy Wellness…read more I went here for the first time a couple weeks ago and actually had a great time. My gf took me here because her pass at Goodlife expired and tbh my expectations were low but this place made quite an impression on me. All the gym equipment is in the middle of the room and there is a track that goes around it. It's neat how they managed to incorporate a track like that because now you never have to wait for a treadmill. At the corners of the track, there are spaces to do stretches/mattress exercises. The best part is the huge windows that allow lots of natural light to come in. The one thing I didn't like about the Goodlife in BCC is that it is in a basement and there are zero windows. So it was great to walk into Wellness Centre and be able to absorb that vitamin D while working out. To top it off, they lemon flavoured water that you can choose to drink if you get tired of regular water! Yeah, I really liked this place. The only negative would be that it's still a pretty small gym compared to the Goodlife gym nearby (main competitor). The great set up of the equipment kind of makes up for the smaller space but I find there's a bit more wait time for the equipment during peak hours than at Goodlife. Overall fantastic gym, I was impressed.

Our teacher for the first class I joined was a young girl with dark hair, although friendly, I felt like she was rushing through our routines. We didn't hold poses for as long as I'd expect and there was no shavasna (sp) at the end (Basically the reason I go to hot yoga!!!)! I found the class difficult and the way it was instructed never allowed me to fully relax. I went to an open house last Saturday and a blonde lady taught this class. I found it much more enjoyable. I like the routine she did, it wasn't overly strenuous but still challenging. This time we did have shavasna at the end which I did enjoy. The studio itself is a decent size, it would prefer if it was a bit bigger though. They have mats that you can borrow (free of charge I believe) but I prefer to bring my own. They had a lavender cleansing spray for your mats which I really liked! Lavender is relaxing! The facility does how showers, I did not use them though. The change room is small and the studio is located on the second floor. They should have water fountains. The front desk staff is friendly and relaxed. I'd have to try out the other studios in Brampton before I commit to this one though.

If you compare my old review to the current name on this page, you will see that things have…read morechanged and Brampton Crossfit is now Impact Fitness. I have countless great things from my experience when this gym was a Crossfit gym. I'd even tell others who live in other areas to consider Crossfit if they're looking for a new gym or a new approach to exercise. With that said, after several months at Crossfit, I realised that I was beginning to plateau. It's not to say that one can't continuously improve at a Crossfit gym, but if I'm honest, I like having things more or less programmed and prepared for me. Crossfit's workout of the day format offers that structure and is a great way to improve and then maintain fitness - but if you want get to the next level after a few months, you really need to consider doing a personal workout regimen, which many do at Crossfit gyms. The move to Impact Fitness is essentially a way of incorporating the things I loved about Crossfit, such as: group exercise, coaching, greater intensity workouts, heavier weights (if desired), a variety of exercises and other elements. In fact, many of the same exercises and equipment associated with Crossfit are still present. However, the class schedule now has more focus on determining goals, measuring progress and targeting specific areas. The daily schedule essentially operates in offering hour-long classes alternating between two types of workouts. One is 'strength', being weight training. The strength workouts in particular repeat throughout the month in order to continue working on the same area and work towards progressing. The other is 'conditioning', which is comparable to bootcamp styled high intensity interval training (HIIT). Beyond that, the workouts are also structured with either being mostly an upper body, or lower body work out. It allows you to plan your workouts and routine according to your goals, which can be done with the advice and help from the coaches. Effectively, Impact is a place where they have done most of the work in providing a workout plan and structure for members. It's really then just left to individuals to decide what their goals and preferences are, then plan their workout schedule and do the work accordingly. This is still with the benefit of a fun, supportive group atmosphere along with coaching. And hey, if you still want to do an even more personalized regimen, that's still available too.

We are both happy joining the program and working out with a group of gym buddies in, early morning. Paul and Christina are both fun to work with. I feel really less fatigued than before when I used to work out at home without anyone to point out where I am going wrong. It is highly recommended to join Impact Fitness to have a dedicated trainer for yourself and reach your fitness goals sooner.
