Anywhoddles I ordered from Eki Ramen, and when I tell y'all this ramen was RAMENING! Aka delicious. Aka... fire I ordered the Black Garlic Ramen, and as you can see from the menu, it was only $12.95. I added an extra egg, extra pork belly, and extra black garlic oil because... why not? Anywhoddles with the extra "trimmings" it came to $18 dollars. Let's get back to the review Now lean in so I can tell y'all about this broth. It tasted authentic to me. It was rich, velvety, silky smooth, creamy without being heavy, and bursting with savory goodness. Every sip had me closing my eyes The noodles had the perfect bite--not too soft and not too firm. The pork belly was tender, flavorful, and had just the right amount of char around the edges. And those eggs? Whew! Perfectly jammy with that beautiful golden yolk. So... if you're a ramen lover--or if you've been thinking about trying ramen for the first time--I highly recommend giving Eki Ramen a try. And while you're there, take your time and explore Cheongdam Food Hall because there are plenty of other restaurants waiting to be discovered. Until next time... y'all already know what time it is! The Wor Wonton Soup ($18) is excellent and incredibly delicious! Soup broth is nicely seasoned and flavorful, has four big portions of pork & shrimp wontons, tender chicken, succulent shrimp, bok choy, shiitake mushrooms and carrots, it usually includes beef but I ask to omit, and I love how they're able to accommodate. It's so nice to meet Anthony, he's VP, and came by to my table to check in, asked how everything was, he's very welcoming and personable. Ace Dragon Wok primarily focus on guest curated experiences, and can customize any order especially for dietary needs for vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free. The chef is well versed in Pan-Asian inspired cuisines, and everything is customizable to the region of preference, such as Malaysian, Indonesian, Tawainese, Japanese (excluding sushi), Filipino, Thai, Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, and Korean. This is all based on reservation, a minimum of two hours advance notice is needed before opening to allow the chef adequate time to prepare a customization menu. I then ordered the lumpia and the chefs menu A. I suggest doing the chefs menu for anyone coming for the first time. You get to try a little bit of everything and it was all fantastic. Lumpia was incredible. Filling was delicious and it is served with a slight spicy sauce and fresh cilantro. One of my favorites from the night. Chefs menu started with pickled vegetables that were all delicious. Fermented flavors that accompanied all the dishes and added extra dimensions to the dishes. Second up was the Kogi staple, the Korean taco. I've had this straight from the truck in L.A. and this was no different. Awesome taco with tensor meat and a fantastic crunchy slaw. Next was slippery shrimp. Chef Roy's take on a bang bang shrimp of sorts. While this also was great, I'm not a massive fan of shrimp. For those who do love shrimp, you will love this dish! Then the BBQ meats followed. Holy cow was this incredible. The BBQ beef was probably one of my favorite things from the evening. Flavorful, tender, and amazing. Also was accompanied by street corn that was some of the best I've had! Lastly was the date cake for desert. Soft melt in your mouth toffee cake with an ice cream to match. They have a sign that states it's refilled every 20 min and a limit of 6 legs per person at a time. My first plate I waited in line since it was empty at the time. Once they finally brought out a batch, it literally was only a large mixing bowl of crab legs they came out with and luckily I was able to get some. Unfortunately the amount they brought out was only enough for about 6-7 people. They only brought out two small batches before we gave up on trying to get any. A lot of the food looked like it had been sitting for a long time. Again, a lot of the food was near empty or completely empty and wasn't being refilled. The sushi wasn't good as the rice was mushy and the fish looked ehh. The food from the hot bars didn't meet my standards so I didn't even bother trying the hibachi or ramen/udon/pho stations because at that point I was over it. Once we decided we were done and ready to leave, I went to wash my hands and as I was walking back to my table to get the family to go, I walked under a water leaking coming from the roof and wasn't even told to go around when the workers knew what was going on and where standing right there. On the suggestion of our waitress, my wife and I ordered the Beef Rib which comes with lettuce and cilantro, three wonderful sauces that went from sweet to spicy, and several other accoutrements to add to your Asian taco. This can easily be shared and was amazing. We ordered it with the Japanese sweet potato and Baby bok choy, both good and smokey but not mind blowing. But hey, you need some greens and starch with your meat. We also tried a few apps. The Tuna Crispy rice and the Pork Gyoza were both excellent, but be warned, it is just 4 small pieces- bites really, so at 32 and 24 bucks respectively, you may think about spending 8 bucks for a bite. I would go for the gyoza because the smokiness added an element I've never had before. Our waitress suggested the cinnamon roll with a scoop of bourbon ice cream as a dessert and we're glad she did. It was a perfect end to an extravagant dinner. I understand there is also a tasting menu where you get a wide variety of menu selections for 125 a person. Something you might consider. For my wife and I, it was 330 for our food and two drinks each. Expensive yes, but you don't do this every day. Plus you get free valet at the Fontainebleau if you eat dinner at any of their restaurants. Not sure if this is true for the food court as well. Locals also get free parking. Nice perk for something that used to be the Vegas norm. I'd definitely go back. There are a few more things I'd like to try. Better start saving up.
