I had a full massage, body wrap/scrub, full facial, eyelash tint, manicure, pedicure. It was heaven, and then some. Oh my, what a lovely day it was. The massage is firm with good amounts of pressure. This is so important to me as I have a great deal of tension spots that need a lot of manipulation. They are willing to work with whatever you want. Experience is evident here, and they know what they are doing. Often times the pressure will ebb and flow, and this is not the case. When I get a massage, I know what I want. I have not been disappointed here. The facial is also amazing. She really spent the time to go over my skin and pay attention to the details. My face felt vibrant and fresh for days afterwards. The eyelash tint wasn't as spectacular as I have had in the past, but I am not complaining. The mani and pedi - the last part of my entire day, by this point, I was fighting falling asleep. In your own private room, another massage on the legs, dang! I was a bucket of jello by this time, and so relaxed. The polish job on my toes lasted weeks, honestly. A++. The one thing that I think needs some help is the sound ... noise from the street. They need to install noise canceling devices and sound blocking curtains, especially in the massage rooms. Hearing an a dump truck go down the road when your back is getting massaged is not relaxing. Turning up the spa music would help too. But white noise devices are clearly needed since this is a very old and lovely building, Victorian, and with a great deal of charm (and creaks and squeaks). The staff all are friendly, unassuming, warm, friendly, and eager to please. They want you to feel at ease, and they want you to come back. I will.

My mother in law booked appts for my daughter and I to get mani/pedis done. When we walked in there…read morewas no warm greeting. In fact there was never any welcoming feeling at all. My daughter is 12, we had to have our appts one after the other because they don't have staff, I understand that. So I sat in my car for an hour. Then it was my turn so we switched and she sat in the car for my appt. I tried to have some sort of conversation with the nail tech but she wasn't interested in being friendly. The service she performed was mediocre. My feet are fairly soft with the exception of rough spots on the outside of my big toes. So one spot on each of my bit toes. The rough spots are stiff there, the "massage" never went higher than my ankle and felt more like a tickle rub vs a massage. I also was told by my mother in law that the appt was made for both mani and pedi but we were told we were done after the pedicures. I didn't set it up the appt so we just left. $90 for 2 mediocre pedicures and I still need to give my toes some attention. I assumed this place was amazing since it's in a beautiful historic building and has been in business for years.. but that's not the case. We will not ever be returning. There are many other spas and nail salons where they are happy to have you as a customer and actually do an amazing job for way less than what we spent here. Thankfully we had gift certificates or I would have been very upset at the services performed. I'm rating this place at a 2 because the building, massage chair and heated table you lay on were nice. The paint job was decent as well but there was no scrub, or anything. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else, you'll get better service at Le Nails done the road.

Very warm, calming and quiet. The only thing that could make this place better is online scheduling.

I had a very unfortunate interaction with the owner. I had a less than satisfactory experience with…read moreone of the massage therapists, it was a very strange massage and was unlike anything I had previously experienced there. First the essential oils placed under my face gave me quite a migraine. I have a herniated disc in my neck which I acknowledge that sometimes that could be an issue but for me this has never been a problem during massages. For some reason she placed several, and I mean several, hot towels on my neck which was immediately pretty painful as this was heavy to be placed with heat on a herniated disc, no matter how healed. Then she quite literally covered me in lotion, like a ridiculous amount where I couldn't even get dressed, barely touched me and ran out of the room, almost before I could even ask her for a towel (I was literally drenched in lotion) and before the session was supposed to be over. So I was left in more pain plus a migraine with a shortened session and covered in lotion, and I did notice that she didn't greet me afterwards to offer me water and make sure I'm doing good like they usually do here. This was all very strange and bizarre, but I assumed maybe this had to do with inexperience and wanted to leave feedback as to why this wasn't the best experience, especially since this is a luxury service that wasn't cheap. The owner called me the next day, and she was genuinely one of the most hostile and unpleasant people I had ever talked to. I am not a confrontational person, and I do think I was being reasonable in leaving feedback. She called me and told me that there is absolutely no way that any of this happened, and that she "welcomes me to not return". I told her that this was unfortunate to hear because I had such positive experiences in the past there, to which she told me I didn't go there enough times to have that much of an opinion. She kept telling me that I am more than welcome to not return, and at this point I wasn't going to but I just wanted her to tell me directly that she was banning me from returning for having a negative experience. She was avoiding saying explicitly that I could not return, but she kept insisting I was welcome to go elsewhere. I told her I would probably leave a review of the situation, to which she said "well that's not very nice of you". I told her it's not very nice to ban me for expressing concerns with my session. She hung up the phone abruptly, and the next day another staff member called and offered to reschedule me with someone else. I politely declined. I also want to mention that the ramp to get in the door is extremely inaccessible, I am a wheelchair user and it's borderline hazardous the way it is oriented. If I am to open the door, I have to be on the ramp which is difficult, or the door will push me down the stairs. If you use a mobility aid or have chronic pain I would not recommend, not because of the staff but 100% because of the owner.
