Needles & Hooks

I'm so glad we live in a world where concepts like this exist…read more I've never knitted or crochet, but I've recently picked up sewing and it's grown my appreciation and curiosity for hand crafting. Needles & Hooks is stocked with more yarn than I previously thought existed on planet earth. They have every color/pattern you could imagine and all the accessories to go along with it. I also love the art pieces scattered throughout the shop, giving it a whimsical feel. I truly couldn't pick a favorite.. but gun to my head? I loved the hand knitted frogs. Whether you're an experienced knitter or just looking to breathe in all the crafty air, this is a great place to spend your weekend. I felt my body instantly gravitate to this store and left feeling inspired to create.

Needles and Hooks was just a nice as the last time I went. The yarn here is more expensive than a Michaels but most if not all yarn will have natural fibers. The person who helped me out is really nice and helped verify my yarn color choices. If you buy a hank of yarn, they'll offer to cake it. I've taken the offer before and it turns out nice. I didn't during this visit. There is a decent amount of people who come to knit on Thursdays but I was there to shop. Shopping during that hour is a bit less popular since people are crafting. Parking is great and I will still mourn the fact they had to move inside the mall from their spot outside with a nice window.

The owner of this business was very kind and welcoming. She seemed to me to really value supporting artisans in India and Nepal. Much of the merchandise is sourced directly from these countries. I think there were items from Turkey as well? I enjoyed my brief conversation with the owner. The prices here are so low that I questioned her profit margins and wondered how much of this business is a labor of love for her. I had an odd budget when I entered this store, I believe that my budget was $82, and I got several lovely things for just under this amount of money. I left very happy with my visit and with my purchases. Recommended for inexpensive and unusual gifts for yourself or others.

This is a hidden gem that more people should go to! Incredible hand made crafts, art, clothes,…read morescarves, jewelry, keepsake boxes, stuffed animals, hair forks, decorations, blankets, etc... The goods are amazing and everything seems to be hand made and/or upcycled. They source everything from fairly paid, fairly treated artisans and some of the proceeds go to worthy causes. This is high quality stuff. When I was there, a pregnant woman was having henna done on her stomach and there was such a lovely, warm vibe in the shop. The workers were so nice. They told me about some cool details of the things I bought that made me feel more connected to the makers. So many of the goods are freaking gorgeous with beautiful patterns. I want to go back and get a robe from them -- they were made from pre-owned sarees! Many things were made from those, including skirts, bags, scrunchies, and scarves. Go get your friend or loved one something amazing and unique for a gift! Or something for yourself! Love this place and hope it never goes out of business.

I was going to play soccer with them and the staff went above and beyond to help me. He even asked a Ross staff on my behalf if there was a pump I could use. Also, really good selection of toys for many add groups and randomly, Jordan kids shoes for like $39.

I suggest shopping elsewhere if u want to be treated with any sort of respect or common decency because b u won't get that here.
