To give you an idea of the situation: imagine budgeting $16k for a project. You meet with them, they walk the site, review the plans, and enthusiastically agree to the price to "earn your business." However, two weeks after signing the contract and handing over a deposit, they suddenly claimed the project would now cost $29K. My key Issues: Bait-and-Switch Pricing: The final quote was more than double the original agreed-upon price with vague and VERY inconsistent reasoning. Vanishing Deposit: When I chose to cancel due to the massive price hike, they claimed my entire deposit had already been "used up" on excavation. Lack of Integrity: They committed to a budget just to get the signature, only to move the goalposts immediately after. We are currently pursuing legal action to address these practices. This company is simply not worth the stress or the financial risk. I met many reputable masonry and concrete companies during my bidding phase--I strongly suggest you look elsewhere, you've been warned.

I had a large front porch aggregate floor replaced with brick but it was a much bigger project than they later admitted they usually do. This caused me a lot of frustrations: 1) They didn't spend much time reviewing project. They didn't give me a written quote. 2) Once the front porch was opened up more tuck pointing & fill was needed to fill the opening so they wanted $3000 more than verbal quote they gave me to continue work. 3) Told me no subs used when in-fact actual brick layer was a subcontractor. 4) I personally rejected some of the brick they got from Shade & Wise but they didn't like it and bricklayer slipped some in on the job when I wasn't looking. 5) They chipped off a large corner of base of column holding roof up and wouldn't fix it - so I have to fix myself. 6) Said they will guarantee their work (nothing in writing) but in 15 years will they be around and remember? In summary my experience with ProForce wasn't a walk in the park as too many unknowns they should have foreseen as they are the experts - not me. Michael appeared vocally to be concerned about my disappointments of the chipped base corner but didn't resolve or correct. Throughout the project I had to be at site to figure out what was going on and make sure I was getting a quality job. My suggestion is don't assume anything if you hire them and don't be timid or hesitant in getting your questions answered. It's your money and your house.

He began work May 4 and every time he came he left a bigger mess. There is concrete splatter on the brick, the painted garage, the trap door and back porch and door. It's a dark ugly gray that I have not been able to scrub off. The patio is left with trowel marks and is "painted" a dingy battleship primer type cover. You can see the concrete through it. The garage area looks worse than before. I paid a lot of money and am much worse off now. I am elderly and trusting, so when he said he was finished in early May I believed him. Big mistake. I now have to hire someone to paint over this mess (except the brick, I'm stuck with the splatter on it). I regret ever meeting this unethical, inept, incompetent, man. Three experts did checking and inspection ; gave quatation ranging from $ 19000.00 to 27500. RomanMasonry representative came did the inpection and reported that these cracks were resulting from loose cinder blocks. I was surprised by the such big differance in price.s the worked progressed; I was informed the cause for the loose blocks was caused by the roots from the trees near; there on charge for taking care of that. Now dec 2024 it was over 3 years and no problem. I called the back and gave them bonus good and honest work. I highly reccomand Roman's Masonry. I rate them ***** . S.D.
