I was doing some spring cleaning and needed some trash and old furniture removed from my apartment. Service was prompt and professional but I'm not giving five stars for two reasons : One, I live in a walk up building on the third floor. I called ahead of time and asked if this was okay, and I was assured it was. However the day if I was surprised with a surcharge for the stairs. I don't mind paying it, the stairs are a pain, I just wish that had been mentioned in my phone call. Two, the price I paid ended up being twice what I was quoted. I appreciate that it's difficult to give quotes online with estimations, but why even bother with a price quote if it's going to be wildly inaccurate? I was told by the haulers that my junk would take up 1/2 of their truck, but from my third story apartment I could clearly see their truck arrived already more than half full. Not sure how I managed to take up more space than was available on the truck, but I certainly paid for it. I'm not disappointed in the quality of service, just frustrated at the poor communication and having to pay twice as much as I was told I would. read more

Fair pricing, advanced notices, fast removal, and best of all friendly and considerate service.

Do not waste your time with this company. We booked them for junk removal and received an email with a confirmation saying they would arrive within a 2-hour window, and would call us 15min before. Lo and behold, we waited for 2 hours and not a peep from them. No missed calls, nothing. We checked the confirmation email again and again, no we didn't get the date wrong, they simply didn't show up. We called the number provided in their confirmation email in case of questions or other issues, the woman who answered was extremely unhelpful, saying that this was their office line and that she was unable to reach them. When asked what was the point of providing this number in the confirmation email, she blubbered like a dull idiot and repeated herself. No efforts made to help or solve the problem. This was 2 hours of our weekend wasted at the hands of these incompetent fools. We ended up going to Rid-of-It who provided excellent service, I have no complaints at all and highly recommend them. read more

Found this a little different than others; you have to book an appointment before you know the charge for the service. In other words, you cannot get a quote to compare, unless you are in no hurry. That said, their site informs you of minimum charges and added charges for things like a hide-a-bed. I found the service quite expensive relative to other movers we've used. This, and the fact that the promise to "donate" your items that are in perfect condition is likely rarely, if ever done, eg. "We must be frank, very few charities want used furniture these days." We assume this is just a "come-on" for marketing their service to "donation-minded" customers. Next time, we will post our item so folks who really want it can come and get it for free. We would not recommend others use this service if you have something in very good condition that you know others may use for free. read more

Decluttering an older house seemed like an onerous task, one I was finding hard to start. My neighbour recommended justjunk.com here in Vancouver. I booked online this morning; easy peasy! Your team leader called ahead to let me know they were on the way, so I met them out at my garage where years of junk (and recyclables) soon got hefted onto the truck. Plus, we threw in some of the junk from the basement, too. A great start today, and I was delighted with the fast, very friendly service, the crew's attitude and speed, and your pricing was exceptional! I had an excellent experience with Just Junk recently and had to give them a good review. Compared to a very large competitor which I have tried before, they were cooperative and efficient. I will use them next time. They came by as scheduled to give an estimate for removing construction debris. When they arrived said sorry they couldn't do it today as 2 of their labourers had called in sick. Could do it Tuesday, but I would have to get someone to cut the longer pieces. They estimated 30 yards or 2 trucks and $1500 plus taxes. They were nice and polite but I knew their estimate of volumne was way off. All Junk took it, and more away, the same day, in one smaller truck for less that half the Just Junk quote. Like others I too had an excellent experience with Just Junk. As promised by the very pleasant customer service rep I spoke to on the phone, I got a call shortly before their arrival within the two-hour window that was specified. They took a big bathroom vanity, cupboard doors, countertop, sink, 3' x 6' mirror, tall skinny shelving unit, small side table and an office chair for $149 + tax. I had put the call in for pick-up late yesterday afternoon and they came the next morning at 9:30 and took it all away. It is money well-spent for someone lacking a pick up truck or the time to haul it themselves. I will definitely use these guys again if the need every arrises. (Note: In general I'm not a fan of "junking" things, and I did try to schedule these items to be picked up by Habitat for Humanity for their Restore, but the online form wouldn't work for me. When I tried to call the head office to book a pick-up, their message said to call the individual stores for pick-up. When I called the individual stores, they said to call the head office for pick-up. So much for donating.) read more

I am extremely disappointed by their customer service & protocol. I had booked for a removal pick up on Wednesday for a Friday pick up before Canada Day holiday. We have big family celebration and needed to clear out some clutter to make space for this event. We thought all was going smoothly till we realized that no one has called us as courtesy to let us know they are on their way. We noticed the time was 7pm & our pick up was scheduled between 5:30-7:30pm. So we gave their customer care a call and they said they would get someone to call us for the ETA. Sure enough at about 7:20pm we get a call from their dispatcher who tells us they cannot pick it up and the best they can do is pick up on the Monday because they have Canada day off and the Sunday as well. They would give us a discount and that he is sorry for the inconvenience. Where does that leave us?! It was already too late to call anyone and knowing most businesses would be closed the next day. They basically screwed us over. I asked him why we weren't called way ahead of time so that we can make a secondary arrangement. The guy said he never talked to any of his workers till recently for an update. He pretty much sat on his arrrs all day not communicating with the workers. The excuse he gave me is that by noon they were already running 3 hours behind and that they were also calling other customers to reschedule. But what was even more interesting is that he said part way through the day they got an even bigger job that they started to get more behind. So wait...they were taking other jobs that weren't scheduled ahead of time?! Whereas we booked way ahead & just cause they got a bigger job they could careless to even call us to let us know. It's so simple & yet he made it seem like it was too much of a task for him to communicate with the workers and have to call us to reschedule but they knew since noon they were running late. That it as too hot for his workers to continue working through the day. Maybe next time don't allow scheduling till late evening & look at the weather network. And always keep a track of what's going on with your workers so that you can give clients the convenience of finding another company to do what you were suppose to do. On top of it the guy was rude, yelled and also lied half the time. I caught him back peddling in the entire conversation. Not professional at all!!
