Got to enjoy the party barge when my fiance's job booked it for a day. The gentleman running the barge was very friendly from the time we got on until we left that evening. It fit a lot of people and didn't feel crowded. We were allowed to bring food and drinks on the barge and blast the music as loud as we wanted. Once out far enough on the lake you can jump off the second deck or if you prefer climb down the ladder on the first and swim around. I would definitely recommend for a birthday, bachelorette party or even just to enjoy the view of Lewisville Lake. The only downfall is that there was one bathroom which got kind of hot and was pretty tiny but wasn't dirty or anything so that's a plus. The barge itself isn't anything fancy but lake appropriate in my opinion. Would like to come back and ride again soon. read more

I booked two of their party barges for a college graduation party. From the start, I was shown great customer service. Everyone was polite and wanted to make sure we had a good time. I talked to Patricia on the phone several times and don't understand why all these other reviews are so rude to her- she was great to work with and I had no issues. We had 100 people, so as everyone got there the process was efficient to sign in and get everyone on the boat. We could bring our own alcohol and food, and play music as loud as we wanted. We also had some friends join us from another boat, and they were flexible about that. Everyone had an absolute blast. Everyone working on the boats was friendly and helpful, making sure we were safe but having fun. I would highly recommend booking one of their party barges, it was a great time, no hidden fees (like most other companies), and they were easier and helpful to work with. It was perfect for what we needed, and I'm so grateful they helped make our college graduation celebration such a success! read more

Absolutely horrible service. Patricia, the "manager" has the worst customer service. She lied to us to book the boat and told us it was for 10 people, and then tried to change the capacity once we got here to 9. Completely unacceptable. Obviously there was some sort of a miscommunication and we asked for a refund, and she refused, even though she was the one who told us the capacity was for 10 people. Completely horrible behavior. She was rude and condescending towards us when we were just trying to get clarity as the capacity limit sticker on the boat said 11 people. All 10 of my party will be writing a one star review and we would recommend you book another boat from a different company. read more

Booked a pontoon boat a few weeks ahead of time for my wife's birthday. We had 7 people on-board and there was just enough space - even though the boat fit up to 12 people. The location is very hard to find. Even though they had signs leading you off the I-35 service road - two of the three groups got lost and ended up at Sneaky Pete's. They could probably work on getting some bigger signs to guide you to their wharf. We arrived early, it took a few mins to fill out paperwork and get the low-down on the lake rules. This didn't apply to us, but if you're plan on letting a minor drink - the girl at the front desk will scare the crap out of you about the consequences. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The pontoon boat we rented was in decent shape (some body damage) but nothing that interfered with our experience. We all had a great time on this boat. Rented the Club Fred for my birthday and had a blast! The crew was amazing and very helpful! They allowed food and alcohol on board it was a treat! I had about 30 guests on board for a night time ride 8:30-12:30.... We had a Dj with lights! The wind shook the boat a little but it wasn't too bad, there were a few spiders too :/ but nothing too bad... Overall my time on this boat was AMAZING!! Despite the horrible horrible HORRIBLE customer service, we still had a fun outing. But the just for fun rental service employees seemed annoyed to interact with us and they talked down to us. We reserved a boat for 4 hours and after we paid, the guy told us to be back in an hour and a half because they had another group coming. We had to argue with them about it, even though we just paid for 4 hours. Finally they gave in. Then, they gave us a broken boat which had a broken trim. They said it would be fine, but it sucked. The nose of our boat was completely up half the time and the other half we were hitting hard bumps. Not a very pleasant drive. On top of that, the radio didn't work. (Even though they told us it did). The people are rude, inconsistent with their instructions, have bad attitudes and don't care about the customers. We rented a pontoon boat with some friends while down here on vacation, and it was pretty fun! The Just for Fun dock was a little hard to find, but once there, our paperwork was taken care of and we got set up with a boat. The lake is gorgeous, and huge. Navigating was pretty easy, and the controls on the boat were pretty self-explanatory. There's a radio too! However, the boat had clearly seen better days -- while doing the inspection, the guy at the dock commented that the propeller was pretty torn up, and we noticed that, though the controls showed specs for a 90 horsepower motor, we only had one rated at 50 horsepower, so top speed was maybe ten miles an hour. There were some rips in some of the seats as well, which I understand happens, but still. read more

This place definitely is small and doesn't really look too fancy but it was well worth our time and my boyfriend and I had an awesome time! :) the staff was friendly from when we made the reservation to when we checked in. The boat we reserved was not ready when agreed upon. The girl working the desk was very rude and unhelpful. Had our boat two hours after our booking. When we returned they charged us an additional 100 dollars because the prop was "damaged." I believe that it was just an underhanded way to tack on an extra charge because in the 15 minutes we were talking about how the prop now needs to be repaired they had no problem renting it out to another group right away. Tldr: 1. Boat wasn't ready for our reservation time and they just treated it like a matter of course, not even apologizing. 2. The girl that works the desk is horrible 3. Random charge at the end; honest opinion it seemed like a scam. I'd advise you to go else where as I will be doing in the future. Not very FUN dealing with this company. read more

Absolutely terrible and pathetic. My friend had booked a party barge for today (June 17, 2017) and apparently they "double booked" the boat. Therefore, 40+ people have busted plans and wasted money/food because of the incompetency of this business. How can this happen in 2017, the age of technology? Some people in the group even took a day off work to attend this event that was planned and reserved over a month ago. Based on the prior reviews, it looks like customer service is nonexistent. Despite the bad reviews I had an a great experience. I booked the party barge for a work get together a month prior. The communication was a bit slow via email, but I still had responses within the next day or so. It wasn't too difficult to find where they are when using GPS. As soon as all our guests arrived we got Tex as our captain and Austin as his coworker. They both were fun and courteous. I only booked 3hrs and it felt like 20mins. I do wish we had stayed out longer. I found the barge to be in good condition, I wasn't expecting a luxury boat, it's pretty common for wear and tear as the years go on. Had a racist boat operator Blake that complained about "foreigners on the boat before us" who proceeded to try and fight the person trying to drive the boat after a childish dispute about who should actually be driving the boat. We had to call the company mid-charter to get Blake off the boat, and thank God the driver Michael and replacement Morgan were there to take control or we would have had to throw Blake off ourselves. No apologies from management when we got back, and we even had parking stickers on our cars in the designated lots. Find someone else. read more

I have rented the double decker party barge from Just for Fun for the past 6 years. I usually book in December/January for a June-September sailing. If you book then you can get a discount by buying gift cards. In the past 6 years there has always been a boat for my event. Which is pretty impressive considering I usually book 6-8 months ahead of time. Each year I have booked the boat is fine, the captain and 1st mate are always nice, and the office staff are always polite and friendly. I've rented from them for 6 years, and I'll do it for another 6, if my people still want to come out for a fun day on the lake. read more

We had a great time for my sons 13th bday party. First thing. This place is better priced than Grapevine or surrounding lakes and we live 1 mile from Lake Grapevine but the price was sooo much better we had to book here. Staff was accommodating. There was an issue with our party barge but was not a double booking. LAURA was super nice and really tried working with us and at the end of the day it all worked out and I would highly recommend them. The boat captain and deck hand were great during the event. All the kids loved the party and we heard several kids mention that this was an awesome bday party. We are even thinking about booking again with just adults and enjoying some adult beverages. Had an event here about a month ago and I was very disappointed by the way the owners daughter treated us. She is the person who checks you in and handles the paperwork before you go out onto the boat. She was very rude to all of the guests and as we were leaving we could hear her saying how much she hated us and didn't want to deal with us. One of the boat operators (a short black guy ) approached me during the party showing me a video of a porn basically, of a previous group of people screwing on the boat and said If we were down for freaky stuff on the boat that they were ok with it. I was like uh gross, get away from me. I was there for a company party not to screw my friends and coworkers. Talk about sexual harassment. I couldn't believe it. We went out 7/26/2015 from 11-4. And after talking to other people at the party I wasn't the only one he approached with his "video" approving us to basically have an orgy on the boat. So messed up. Well what could I possibly say that warrants a 1 star rating? Could it be that I booked my reservation and paid the deposit back in April for today, June 17th, but instead am sitting at home because my timeslot was "double booked" by someone else? Maybe. Could it be that 46 of my friends went out of their way to ask off work, prepare food, or bought supplies only to be utterly disappointed the DAY BEFORE when I was notified? Not even 24 hours it seems. Or it might be that the only compensation that the staff could mustered up was to either get my deposit back (Gee thanks!) or to reschedule for another day... It's mid June. There was barely any availability when I called in April so am I rescheduling for next year? The slow yet steady "No" responses as I asked about Sunday tomorrow, the following Saturday, the one after that and so on really came as NO surprise. But joke's on me as there was a surprise. Not even a discount was mentioned or a free additional hour if I had rebooked. That's it. I guess I should be thankful they told me the day before instead of the day of. "Thank you, Just For Fun". But seriously... Like my friend (and one of the 46 attendees) had mentioned- it's 2017 and this type of error still happens? Do yourself a favor, fellow Yelpers and potential clients, just because they're cheaper than the rest doesn't mean they're better. Friends rented a party boat for a birthday party. Tim was the captain and Chris was the other crew member. They both were awesome and was right there for anything needed. It was a fantastic trip with one exception. Dealing with some of the office crew was a different story. The first young lady we encountered was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Sorry I don't remember her name, was young with long dark hair. The second one we encountered, her name was Patricia, had the attitude of everyone was beneath her and completely rude. I rent a boat here every year for my birthday. This year was by far the worst experience. I rented the tritoon boat this year. We get out to party cove and a few of us jump in the water. After swimming for a few minutes we went to get back on the boat and there was no ladder. It was broken before we left the dock and the company did not mention it. When I called them to let them know one of the girls couldnt get back up on the boat, they suggested we leave her in the water and drive back to get a temporary ladder. Leave a girl in the middle of the lake for an hour because thats how long it takes to get back to the dock and then back to party cove. After I demanded that they bring us one, they sent a guy out on a jet ski that took about 40 minutes with a ladder that wasn't even sturdy to get her up. She had to climb on the jetski and then onto the boat. The entire time was ruined and no one really got to even swim in the lake for fear of not being about to get back up. When I took the boat back and she asked how was the trip, I told her besides the fact that a girl was trapped in the water and the rest of us couldnt go for a swim I guess alright. Her response "well at least y'all had fun" this was coming from the manager. I was so upset I just left. When I called about it later to file a complaint they kept saying they would get back with me, but never did. Don't rent from here. They are awful and will not own up to their mistakes. read more

They told us from the last group the prop was damanged from going to party cove and recommend us to not go there because the water was low. We were planning on only doing ski and tube. And as we walk out one of the young guys came up to us and told us that we damage the prop. When it was under the water. We said how? They said probably from party cove. And we didn't know the lake or even seen a party cove. Told him we only went tubing, then he said probably from the rope scratching it. I showed them videos of us on the lake of recordings we tuned and ski only... and he said we are just doing "our job" I can totally tell they were just told to tell us to pay up basically when this is supposedly a new prop. And we even asked for the receipt of the new prop. Couldn't even show us. So we asked them to call the owner. He was kind, but also was very unprofessional. He said I understand but they sent pics of the damage. I said they didn't show us anything? N what pics? By that time I was over it knowing this is a bs scam company!!! We rented a party boat to celebrate a 30th birthday party. Despite the horrible customer service, our group had a great time. For starters, we were advised to arrive 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure time. The boat didn't leave the marina until 30 minutes after the scheduled time and we were taken back to the marina early as well. The crew was rude and one was obviously still drunk from the night before or extremely hungover. Definitely not a very helpful crew member if you ask me. The driver didn't take us out very far and I felt as if we were a bother with any questions/concerns. Once we made it back to the marina, the crew shut off the generator in the middle of a birthday song being played by the DJ onboard. The DJ asked him for just a couple more minutes until the song finished, but the employee replied that "he didn't care" and shut it off anyways. As I was trying to make sure we had everything (and everyone), we were being rushed off the boat by other employees. One was making comments about us being charged extra for them having to pick up what little trash was left behind. I understand they have others waiting to board the boat for their parties, but there is no need to be rude about it. This was the first, and will most definitely be the last time we rent a boat with this company. Such a disappointment! Based on previous reviews, seems like we're not the only ones who feel this way. Booked a ski boat for memorial day. I had to pay half the cost upfront which I was weary about to begin with. We called two weeks before the date to cancel our reservation as we found a much cheaper deal on boatbound.com. To my surprise the business refused to refund my money stating that they do not give refunds. Problem here is that no disclosure of a refund policy was ever given nor is anything of the sort displayed on their website. This business is not customer oriented and I would not recommend. I am a business owner myself and would never refuse to give a customers money back because they found a better deal. I would try to match or beat it. This place has TERRIBLE service! And to make matters worse they are racist as well. We rented a pontoon boat for the evening on a saturday for my friend's birthday. It was 11 people, most of which, except my boyfriend and I, were Indian. When we showed up, the pontoon boat Just For Fun had booked for us was in awful condition. Almost every seat was ripped open with the padding sticking out. There was dried mud covering many of the seats, and soggy doritos were spread across the floor from what I can only assume was the previous rental occupant. Not only did they not bother to rent us a boat in even decent condition, but also went so far as to leave it dirty and digusting from previous rentals that day. The attitude of each employee was uncaring, rude, and lazy. They must also be racist because my rental experience as a white person in the past was better. The staff was rude and disrespectful (the girl checking us in). We rented a boat for 4 hours and when we went to anchor in a cove we found out the boat did not have an anchor. Also, the ladder on the back of the boat was missing the part that folds down which made it difficult to re-enter the boat. When we returned to the marina we explained the situation to the staff. They told us that we would be responsible to pay for a new anchor and the ladder. Before we took the boat on the water, the staff did give us a checklist in which we checked all of the boxes but we never walked through the boat with the staff to check everything. The most disappointing part was when we told them about the anchor and the ladder, the response we got was "Well the ladder was fine and the boat had and anchor and you checked off on the list so you are responsible" in the most rude tone. All four of our families will never rent from just for fun again which is sad because we love to go to Sneaky Pete's and the location for the boat rental was convenient. NEVER AGAIN! read more

I meant to do this six months ago! We had my husband's birthday party on the boat with our closest 50 friends. Honestly, I was a little nervous with Yelp giving it only two stars (my friends are high maintenance ;). But we had the best experience! The staff was very friendly and professional. The boat was clean, including the bathrooms, we all made comments how good they smelled! Our captain was very friendly and entertaining, great stories he told us. The boat was on time leaving without any problems. We were able to play our music through the speaker system, bring our food and beverages. The three hour tour felt like it was only 20 minutes, because we had so much fun. I thought no one would use the slides (we are in our 40's), but we all did and had a blast (ladies bring eye make removers, so you don't look like a raccoon). We wanted to extend our time, but unfortunately there was another group after us. We all had such a great time, that we decided to make it a tradition. One thing that we did not prepare for is tipping the captain (he never asked for a tip and it does not say to tip), but he was awesome. Out of 50 people we only had $20 cash between us. So remember bring some cash! We told him we would come back the following day to give him more, but we never did. Sorry Captain! So if you want fun in the sun, this is the place for you!
