We had a new screen door and a new basement door installed approximately 2.5 years ago, and the crew did an excellent job. Our prior basement door allowed a great deal of cold air into the home in the winter; however, the new one fit perfectly and insulates the area properly. We recently experienced a minor issue with our screen door, and despite the work being out of warranty, Ryan stopped by our home and fixed it at no charge. We have had FOUR doors installed by them, and they all look great. Most recently we had our front door, an external door from the kitchen to the backyard and the basement door to a stairwell all replaced with fiberglass doors. We did not replace the storm doors that had been there, because our experience with the previous door we had replaced (from our den to our driveway) proved that the fiberglass doors were so well insulated and weather-stripped that they made storm doors unnecessary. But we also liked the fiberglass (even though it doesn't REALLY look like wood) because it's so low-maintenance. Ryan put in the first door himself two years ago, and I did not know the two men (José and Jorge; José spoke good English, though my wife spoke Spanish with them) who installed the other three, and at first I was concerned that they wouldn't do as good a job as Ryan did. But they were meticulous in their work, and cleaned up beautifully. (The basement door frame needed quite a bit of carpentry work; they had a miter box and table saw set up in the back yard.) The team also arrived early and got the job done in a single day (although it was scheduled for two). For the kind of door we wanted, we found that Just Doors was actually less expensive than other companies, though of course a lot more expensive than places like Home Depot. But my wife and I were not pleased with the fellow from Home Depot who first looked at the door we wanted replaced, and seemed to think it was going to be a particularly difficult job because the door was a "non-standard" size. We consulted with several companies to replace our doors over a several month time period. After reading numerous reviews and meeting with the installers and receiving quotes, we selected Ryan and Just Doors to provide materials and labor for replacing two entry doors (front / side) with storm doors and a wooden sliding patio door. Other than the initial visit for measurements being in person, all contact was through e-mail which is great for on-to-go types and I love having things in writing. Ryan was always responsive and proactive with updates. He made, what appeared to us, a minor miracle occur to have our doors installed quicker than any other vendor could make happen -- we had family coming into town so wanted them installed prior to their arrival. My experience with Just Doors was exceptional - easily 5 stars. I had to recently replace a main entry door and two patio doors. Out of a few estimates I obtained, Just Doors was the most competitive during that process. Ryan, the owner, performed the estimate and he worked with me to ensure I understood product line as well as the pros/cons of each product. He also provided me with all the information so I could easily clear the HOA review process. Also, Ryan and his team was very responsive during the entire process and worked with me to find the best installation dates. His installers were very nice and responsive as well - they explained different aspects of the job and were upfront about parts of the job that would be difficult and showed me what they were doing to mitigate against rot or water intrusion. This was important since the previous doors in my homeall suffered from rot due to water intrusion. Near the completion of the project, Ryan showed up to inspect the final phase and answered our questions. I highly recommend that if you are in the market to replace either exterior or interior doors, it is advisable to include Just Doors in your list of companies to consider obtaining estimates from. read more

We used them to install our screen door. Their estimate was less than if we hired one of the home improvement stores to do it. The door was installed very well. The only reason we didn't give them 5 stars is because they were very hard to get a hold of to get the initial estimate to do the install. The owner was very prompt in contacting us with an estimate. We had them install a fiberglass back door and a storm door It took awhile for the doors to come in and I had to keep in contact to check progress. The owner seems to prefer email since I don't think he ever returned a phone call. Once the installation was scheduled he was flexible when I had to cancel but then it took another month to reschedule. I have only one complaint with the quality of the work. The fiberglass door had wooden plugs that covered some of the screws in the window frame. The installers did not cover the screws or leave the plugs. When I contacted the owner he initially said it would be $50, then he said he'd bring some by. That was 2 weeks ago. I finally just went to the manufacturers website. Its a $10 part. Summary: reasonable price, good quality but incomplete work, not very responsive. read more

I just had three exterior doors replaced on October 5, 2018. A side storm door outside frame was rotting. I also wanted to replace the front entry and storm door. Ryan came out promptly, we looked at door choices, colors, and hardware. He sent me a contract including door choices, warranties on doors and installation. Decided not to go with him after his crazy price hikes for simple stuff. I had a door ordered through Home Depot to install He came out and did measurements 2 days ago and I contacted him today find out when he was going to get me the quote. I didn't hear anything from him so sent him another email a few hours later as the same person who installed me windows was ready to go for half the price. He set me two emails right away saying "Ok. Did they mention the door front door is not going to work" and the other email said "Wrong handing and wrong jamb depth. Good Luck. I didn't like his attitude so that is why I wrote the review. If he knew all of this when he came out he could have said something to me rather than leave me in the dark for a couple of days. read more

My husband and I are shopping around for doors. We scheduled an estimate with Just Doors and this is the response with got via email when my husband asked why his estimate was so high ($1500) considering his basic install price is $475 and the door he recommends using is $200 (so one would think "basic install" price would be $675). Keep in mind, he never even came to our house, this is just his assumed base installation price: "I won't install doors from home depot or lowes.  Those stock doors at lowes are benchmark by thermatru, not thermatru.  The rough price I gave you includes door, materials, haul away.  Everything except handle deadbolt and painting.   Unless it's a new addition to the house then you have lead paint which will add $250 due to strict epa rules for dealing with lead paint.  The age of the house absolutely affects the install, older houses take much longer.   Honestly,  if $1500 is not sounding good to you then you might have better luck at home depot or lowes.   They are the better fit for you if price is the major concern.  No disrespect, but it sounds like what Im recommend isn't going to work.  Thermatru steel is as low as I go and I rarely recommend those steel doors for anything other than garage to house doors.   Think I'd rather pass on this one. Just have too much going on already and I'm fairly certain it would be a waste of both our times."  I'm giving a bad review because not only is he rude and disrespectful when asked a simple question, but he has grammatical errors; if you're going to be rude, at least try to sound intelligent. Unfortunately this company is unprofessional and lacks decent customer service skills. I was contacted 7 months after an install saying that I owed $200. It was an error by the owner but he tried to pass it off on me. When I explained that I would not be responsible for his error he replied in a very immature, unprofessional manner. First starting the email out with "ok gotcha" and then ending it with "make sure to let someone else know if you have issues with the door". I will be sure to never give business to this company again nor will I recommend it to a friend. Just admit your error and move on. read more

Just completed two installations by Just Doors. Not sure where some of these negative reviews came from, but I had nothing but a great experience with Ryan and team. His initial price estimate provided was a bit more than I wanted to spend, so he worked with me on ways I could reduce and still be happy with the outcome. His communication flow was what I would expect for this type of transaction and through email (his and my preference). The amount of communication and frequency was perfect and he worked around my schedule for installation. His crew showed up yesterday for the installation, on time and prepared. They spent most of the day on the job, and were courteous and clean (and great with my curious big dog who roamed their work area). Ryan himself showed up during the day to both resolve a problem the team was having and (I believe) check on the work progress. Just Doors folks are a rare find among contractors these days. They provide accurate free estimates, schedule promptly and show up when they say they will. They are polite and efficient once on site and clean up before they leave. They are also a great resource to help you decide what kind of door you need (wood vs. fiberglass). To purchase the doors they directed us to Tart Lumber in Sterling which has a great selection at reasonable prices. Just Doors will pick up the door and deliver it to your home, saving you and your trunk a lot of heartache. I can't recommend these guys highly enough! read more

Recently replaced all the interior and several exterior doors throughout our house, and had an excellent experience with Just Doors. Seemed to be a family-owned business. Very professional and helpful throughout the entire process. Finished everything very well, on-time and budget (reasonably priced, as well). I'd replaced the doors throughout as part of a larger remodeling project and dealt with several different contractors. These guys were great throughout, as well as very receptive to follow-up questions on unrelated issues later. Work included replacement of standard doors (including, at their recommendation, reversing the door swing of the master bathroom door to yield increased available space inside -- which was an excellent suggestion that we're really loving), and also replaced the entire front porch door and sunlights. I enjoy doing business with smaller family-owned companies because they are the hard-working folks who make America so great. Just Doors did a really nice job, and I recommend them highly. Ryan and Jose did an excellent job on installing two sets of french doors. We originally got a quote from Thompson Creek because they did our windows recently and did a great job. They said that were giving us a 40% discount because we were previous customers. The Thompson Creek quote (at a 40% discount) was still slightly higher than Just Doors for the same doors from the same manufacturer. I decided to go with Just Doors out of principle and I wasn't disappointed. They did a fast and thorough job and the doors look great. I would definitely recommend them. read more

I was hopeful at first, because I received a very quick response to my request for an estimate. However, I then had to wait much longer than promised for the estimate. The contract said the door would be installed by a specific date, but the owner assured me it would be before that date. Then he kept on trying to postpone it until I held him to the contract. (It was finally installed on the last day stated by the contract.) They didn't tell me that I would need a new storm door when the front door was installed, so then I had to wait again for that and have it installed on a different day. The installation of the storm door was sloppy, leaving a half inch of space between the entryway frame and the storm door's aluminum frame. When I complained about the gap, the owner said that was completely common. Since he said that, I've examined the storm door of every single house I've been into over the course of a year, and have yet to find a single one with a half inch gap. The only thing I can say is that the installation was approximately $200 cheaper than the other estimate I received....but apparently you get what you pay for. read more

My next door neighbor in Ashburn Farm had her front door and sill replaced by Ryan A. from Just Doors. She was extremely happy with his workmanship. I needed my front door and plain glass side lites replaced and a storm door added so I asked for an estimate. I wanted a leaded glass side lite that was frosted in places for privacy but had a clear spot so my dogs could see outside. He showed me some options and I found the perfect side lites. Ryan's bid was extremely reasonable so I hired Just Doors. Ryan provided photographs of the door, side lites, and storm door for me to submit to the HOA for approval. After approval, Ryan provided a start date and showed up when he said he would. During the installation process, he noticed that because my home never had a storm door and my previous door sill was flat and not slanted, the subfloor of my living room that is adjacent to the front door was rotted from seeping water. He shined a flashlight on the floor and showed me I could see directly into my basement utility room through the planks of my hardwood floor. I really appreciated knowing this. As a single mom of three children, I was on a tight budget. Ryan suggested I could save money by painting the door and installing the hardware myself, which I did. I couldn't be happier with his work. I have received numerous complements on my beautiful side lites. I would not hesitate to hire Just Doors again and I highly recommend them. read more
