I had floor (vinyl) installed in my kitchen in august 2023, over linoleum which i was told was ok. In april 2024 the vinyl Tile started coming up. Icalled the company and they came and repaired the section of floor, howver in September 2024 it started to come up again. I called company again and was told i needed to check for my refrigration leaking. Called someone and the refrigerator guy came in, no leakage. The called floorung company again. Man camedown to look. And said there was difinite leakage. Called my plumber and repair a leak under crawl space not related to the floor coming up. 2600.00 later and flooring company was not responsible. read more

I was looking to replace my living room floor and this was my second store to visit. They had exactly what I was looking for and within 15 minutes I knew what I was buying. We worked with Matt who I really liked. I chose the Dumont Red Oak Natural which is an engineered natural wood floor. Matt came out a few days later to take the exact measurements, I approved, and a week later I was making an appointment for installation. The installers were to show up between 8:30 - 10am, they arrived at 8:15. I must admit I was very nervous about the replacement and them having to possibly take off my baseboards. Luckily for me they didn't have to do that. I had approximately 400 SF and the removal of the old on a slab took about 3 hours and must say there was a lot of dust which they told me about and they put plastic over the other doorways to contain it as best they could. The installers did an absolutely amazing job ! They took their time and it is absolutely perfect, and trust me I'm a perfectionist by nature and I was looking for mistakes but there were none to be found. The installers were so dedicated to the job I don't think they ever took a break. Once done, they vaccumed the floor, vaccumed and swept up outside in front of my house where they were cutting the flooring. I was so impressed. I'll be going back to pick out a kitchen floor and then carpet for my staircase, and I want the same installers ! read more

July 2013- just had bought a new house and the living room 14x20 needed new carpet, the carpet currently installed was a hideous forest green and 1960's old, I shudder just remembering. Trying to find a carpet place that would deliver and install quickly was becoming impossible. We had started in Toms River and worked our way north, why we didn't come to this place first since it is close to our home, I HAVE NO IDEA.. But we finally stopped in and after walking around for about 30 minutes trying to figure out what color, texture and style we wanted a salesman came over. He was so patient and because we had a budget, he showed us the remnants warehouse. Goodness, they have all styles from shag (yes shag) to industrial, every shade of pink to green to black patterns.. I mean how does anyone make a decision? But I was so happy that most everything was in our budget range. We gave a general description of what we were kind of looking for, since the room has dark wood furniture so the salesman showed us a beautiful medium pile carpet that was a medium cocoa brown it was perfect, I loved it! We paid for it and it was scheduled for delivery and install the next coupled of days. However when they arrived with the roll, it turns out the 5 steps up to the kitchen were over looked since they are wood as well, but not finished and required another remnant. They didn't have another remnant the same color available. So, while the crew was at the house I drove to the carpet store and picked out a larger roll in a light tan brown color, I didn't love it I really didn't even like it--but it had enough to cover everything and I only had to pay the difference which was under $200.00. Cut, installed, furniture put back we were happy. Fast forward 2016- I have beautiful hard wood floor under the carpet in our master bedroom, and I wanted to get rid of the old carpet and put new carpet in, I went to the store looked around and again found the perfect slate grey color low pile carpet but I wanted plush padding. No problem. I put money on it to hold it, but between then and now we got a puppy.... so no new carpet until she is completely potty trained an they are holding the carpet until I need it. Both my husband and I were treated very well and despite the original miss-measure we were satisfied with all parts of our interaction with Just Carpet and Flooring and we recommend them based on our experience. read more

The installation went ok that's the only reason I gave them a 1 star. The Sub contractor was very clean and masked up. The transition piece was the wrong one and they installed it anyway as you can see from the pictures. It lasted a week until my 94 year old Father tripped on it. Numerous calls and visits to the company and salesman have resulted in being ignored. They were also supposed to restretch the upstairs carpet that they installed years ago and they did not do that as well. Stay far away from this company. Every time I called or visited it was blamed on Covid? It's been 9 months now and still no follow up. read more

I've been in this store not once, but twice. And both times came out with the same opinion of the place, which is not to give them my money. I'm pretty certain there's 2 types of people who come here. Those too lazy to research and be informed to know you are getting completely ripped off or the same type plus they are too lazy to drive out of their neighborhood to get fair pricing and quality products. To the yelper who said cheap doesn't equal good work, nor does being ripped off to where you are paying the rent for their "huge" outlet. Nor can I figure out why they call this place an outlet. Have to mention the miserable owner who when I waked in didn't say hello, smile, just ignored me, but proceeded to check his book with his receptionist then turned and walked away. I guess he thought I was walking into the Ritz Carlton and he was gracing me with his presence vs. his floor store in Howell where NJ.. I'll spare making this long, but both times we were given outlandish prices for average products. The 2nd time the salesman was the manager who knew 0 about his products and any questions I asked he would have to refer to the back of the sample. Also, in 2020 who charges a perspective client $100 for an estimate? So you have the customer locked in to do business with you? It's great that it goes towards the price of the product, but whose to say after you have my money and do my estimate you add in unnecessary work that I may not want? Saw it on one of my quotes from another local place. After my 2nd and LAST visit, I went and gave my money to another store the next town over with a personable, knowledgeable owner, who wasn't trying to nickel and dime me and I got a much better quality floor for a fair price. read more

Bought flooring 3 years ago from Just Carpets. It was simply a sheet of linoleum. Last year we noticed huge gray spots, probably mold, appearing in the linoleum. We shared our concerns with Just Carpets. It took 3 weeks and 3 different guys to come and inspect the floor. All said they've never seen anything like it before. One said, it's not from the top because you can still see the shine on the floor. Next one said, it's from underneath the floor. Note, we don not have any ceiling issues downstairs from any leaks. Third said, cant honor any warranty on this floor cause it must have been something i applied to that one area trying to clean it. Today we were told they'd charge us $200 labor to put down a 3x4 foot remnant that we happen to have leftover. Bottom line: Just Carpets does not stand behind their products. read more

First, when you walk in the door, ask for Pete! He really took great care of us in our most recent purchase. We have had Just Carpets install carpet and laminate flooring for us several times over the past 20 years that we've lived in Howell. NO, they are not the cheapest place around, they are the best - those 2 terms are opposites - you are never going to get a really good job done by the cheapest guy in town. (We learned our mistake the hard way by dealing with that big orange store once, never again) We'll be using them again, as we still have more carpet that needs to be replaced. read more

We used Just Carpets to replace all the floors in our new home. We had them come measure the day of inspection because we wanted the flooring done immediately prior to moving in. At first the process was great. However, the day of install was an absolute nightmare. They didn't have enough carpet for the upstairs, they didn't order enough flooring for the downstairs. They were able to get enough carpet the day of install to finish the job but that's besides the point. They measured our house 3 months prior, and the dimensions in which they measured were completely wrong. Fast forward to the flooring install, our installers were great and professional, but again they didn't have enough flooring for us. So we had one room with no flooring in it ( not the end of the world ) but again you measured my whole entire house, so what was the confusion ? So now we have a problem with the transitions from the carpet to the flooring. Pete one of the owners came to our house and ensured us that he was going to be able to do the transitions himself. Pete completed the work and not even a month later the carpet started fraying underneath the transition piece. So Pete came back AGAIN, now we ordered new pieces for us and promised he would make right. Well, Pete ordered the pieces but guess what, they were the WRONG COLOR. After 7 times of Just CarpetS coming out, I've had enough with them. Now my flooring is bubbling all over the place, the transitions in which Pete put down never sat right and has lifted. We spent A LOT of money and put our trust into Just Carpets and it's been nothing but a nightmare. Buyer beware, do you research. I'd love to see them make right with us, but I highly doubt they would swallow their pride and fix all the flooring in our house. Mind you, the flooring is less than a year old ! Yes we have dogs, and frank (the owner) was well aware of that before we suggested this flooring. Pictures below to show the disaster. read more

The wanted 100$ for an estimate for install of hardwood floors. This is like asking for 100$ to test drive a car.

Tried this local place looking for kitchen tile. They had a fairly large selection of tile but finding a salesperson was somewhat difficult. I found the place to be rather unorganized & sloppy looking. I did find the exact tile I was looking for & their prices seemed reasonable so I ordered them. When the salesman wrote up the order I was told there was a $35 delivery charge. As I had never bought tile before I had no idea how they would be shipped, so imagine my surprise when I picked up my tiles in a 2"x6" box that cost me $35! So much for their reasonable prices. I really wanted to like this place, but it is doubtful I would go back for anything. However, I am happy I got my tiles & they look awesome. read more

Excellent product and service. Kudos to a well run business. My wife I went this weekend and found a 100% wool hand made 1/2" inch thick 10.10x7.7 rug that was on clearance for under $600. Not only the Rug was absolutely gorgeous and priced right the service by the salesperson was fantastic including loading into my suv. We walked in really just looking not interested in purchasing, but after looking around found this rug, we couldn't pass it up. You can't go wrong, going to this establishment. OK, tried this place looking for new wood floors. They had a big selection. I couldn't tell you anything else because I couldn't get anyone there to help us. There was one guy that was about 80 helping another couple and he said he wasn't able to answer our questions till he was done. 2 others were in the carpet section and unavailable. We waited about 25 minutes for the old guy who looked as if he might collapse at any moment. He never finished so we walked out. I called back a few days later to get prices on the floor we were looking at and was told they couldn't quote any prices on the phone. I explained what happened but they stil wanted me to come back in, instead of trying to accomodate me. Told them to forget about it. I wont go back there. read more

If I could give it no stars I would. I came into just carpets and flooring today because i was told by the distributor of my vinyl flooring it was the closets location to me that carried my floor. I was somewhat greated by an older man who I explained I needed two boxes/48 sq ft of flooring in the sample I had in my hand but I was unsure of what color it was. He right away was very rude and said "where is that from Home Depot or something?! we don't sell boxes of flooring!" To which I replied, "so then how is it sold? Would you need to install it?" Instead of answering my question he even got nastier and tells me again they don't sell flooring in boxes and then proceeds to start walking me out the door, as if I did something wrong. Recently had new carpet installed in living room, up the stairs and hallway. I couldn't be happier !!! Not our first time using them, and won't be our last!! They do a meticulous job and left the work area spotless. They even told us we could take the leftover pieces back to the store to be bound and made into a runner. They did this at no charge to us!!! We brought a sample of our old carpet, we wanted to get as close as possible, and he helped us pick the carpet and the color and pulled all the samples for us. I just had to write a review after reading Joe B's. I went into Just Carpets and had 2 people help me to find what I was looking for. I was searching for a QUALITY area rugs and they had a room as big as some stores with just area rugs the selection was great . They were very knowledgeable about what they have. I ended up buying 2 Karastan area rugs and they are BEAUTIFUL!!! Karastans are the best and I expect them to last a very long time. I love them...Thank You Pete & Frank read more

Doesn't deserve 1 star but I can't select no stars. Avoid this place and just go somewhere else I purchased the Armstrong Alterna flooring for my kitchen back in October of 2013. First off, terrible product and not made for high traffic areas unlike what they claim. It was about a 420 sq/ft job. Pete was the sales person who is also the manager. Everything sounded fine as we were going through the sales process. Pete's "i'll get my best installers on it" statements and other typical sales pitches you would get anywhere else. Well that was about the last good experience in the whole process. 1 day before the install was to take place, my wife gets a call from Pete and he tells her the installer is going to start the job on the planned day but can't come back and finish the job until 3 days later. Well I was on a plane to the west coast for business and as I landed I get the news. So I call Pete. He felt it was no issue for my wife to live in a construction site for 5 days for a job that was only supposed to take 2. I was quite annoyed with this but my wife said she just want stop get it done. Well she was sorry she said that. The installer was a slob. left a huge mess the first day which she had to clean up. That was on a Wednesday. The installer sent his apprentice back on Saturday when they were supposed to show up by Friday to finish eh job. Well they didn't finish it on Saturday and went into Sunday. All along the installer complaining he couldn't stay and finish the job and would come back. Once again, a huge mess left behind. When the grouting was complete, there was gout all over the place, on my cabinets and base molding. Complete slobs. During the installation I was on the phone multiple times arguing with Pete on the mess they leave behind for my wife and things that we agreed would be part of the install that the installer was saying wasn't. A complete unpleasant experience. When all said and done, they installed 418 sq/ft of flooring. But the original estimate was for 449 sq/ft. Pete was expecting to charge us the full amount but after fighting back an forth along with the aggravation we had with the installation process, we settled on a price which equated to us paying for the 420 sq/ft installed. No compensation for the aggravation but thats fine as i am always willing to pay for a product and service provided. But the mistake of buying this floor didn't stop there. To this day we re having issues with this floor. We wanted a floor that would hold up to the kitchen area of the house. Well this Armstrong product isn't it. The floor chips and then the chip peels off leaving a white spot on the tile. This floor was touted by Pete as being the perfect floor for a high traffic area like a kitchen. Jus tot provide a comparison, i had an Armstrong composite vinyl sheet floor in this same area for 13 years without a problem. Never had to have anything fixed. To date we have had Pete send the installer back to replace 4 tiles. I have another 4 tiles that need replacing since they were here. It takes weeks to months to get any resolution from this store because I call, Pete claims he'll call Armstrong or call his installer and get right back to you but he never calls you back. You have to chase him until you get to the point of fury before he reacts. I've called Armstrong directly and they don't deal directly with consumers. You have no choice but to work through the retailer you bought it from for any claims. Back to the BS Pete puts you through. They even sent us a letter stating they fulfilled their responsibilities and there was nothing else they can do. Which is far from the truth so once again we called and are now at the brink of filing a law suit. Pete called in an inspector who came and look the floor and the problems we're having. Still waiting for that report. I called Pete and he said he'll call the inspector and get the report and call me right back. That was 3 weeks ago. Do yourself a favor and go to another store. This one's not worth the aggravation. Their East Brunswick store closed. Its probably only a matter of time before the Howell store closes too with this type of business practices. Through this whole process, I never once heard from the owner of the store. read more

Zero stars if thay had one. Save time and go somewhere else. I am an interior designer who visited the store to obtain tile samples for a client and to inquire about installation. The older gentleman was so down right crass and unprofessional. I asked if I could purchase some sample tiles to show my client. He told me that they don't sell samples. Then he decided to unload all his unpleasant experiences of having people obtain sample from him and go elsewhere to purchase as if it was my fault. I stood in disbelief that my simple question was a demeaning lecture. I said ok then I guess you don't work with interior designers. And he said we do, but I don't know you and I don't know who you are. He's got that right, he will never know me nor have my companies business nor my friends and family. Our salesman Pete said he couldn't wait to exceed our expectations however what really happened was a nightmare. We were given an hour window for when to expect the installers. They showed up about 1/2 hour late from that window. They took 8 hours to install three bedrooms and a hallway. We should have went upstairs that evening but they left the stairs unfinished and was returning the next day to finish the stairs and the main floor of my house. The installer asked if it was alright that they did not put all of the furniture back, we said yes without looking which was a big mistake. My master bedroom furniture was all over my upstairs including the bathroom. That room was the first one carpeted so we assumed the spare room/office since they did that room last. Now our real nightmare we go upstairs and in my 3 ft by 22 ft hallway I have 3 seams and two sets of crush marks, so the whole hallway has lines. We asked the salesman to come over the next morning to see it. He said it was installed properly and vacuuming would take care of it. We did not let them continue except for the stairs since they said that was dangerous but ok overnight I guess. That was June 13th, guess what still has seams and crush marks today. We went with Carpets to go to finish the job. I can't see the seams or crush marks down stairs. Same carpet one looks great and the other looks like a puzzle. Don't use this company read more

Poor customer service! Staff lacks knowledge of what they have in stock. No one is there to provide any information. Owner wont return any calls. Frank, having pictures of celebrities on your wall doesn't bring you customers. Having good customer service and a knowledgeable staff does. August 2018 - I was looking for area rugs for my place of business which is less than a mile from the store. I was called one week after the order that one of the area rugs was discontinued. This put me behind and overlapped my other contractors in completing the office. When I ordered the rugs i gave the measurements of the rooms to Ross and asked his professional opinion as to what size rugs I should order for each room. I explained what the rooms were being used for and what type of furniture was going to be in the rooms. (Ex. chairs with wheels that I did NOT want to roll onto the hardwood floor.) The rugs came and they were both much too small. The only thing the manager kept saying when i called to see how they were going to rectify this is that I signed off on the order. I agreed with him; I did sign off on the order; however, it was based on his employee's professional opinion. I did not ask for my money back, but I did request that I at least get a credit. No - I was told they would do nothing, They did not care about customer satisfaction. As long as they made a sale. And to top it off, they knew how unhappy I was and they still sent me a Thank You "...we will always do everything possible to merit the confidence you have placed in us."
