We got there about 10 minutes before they opened. And the line went around the block. Which is about what I expected after seeing the number of comments on their social media ads for it. We waited, for over an hour. They came out after an hour and informed everyone that they had no boys stuff left, but still had girls, and were working on refilling the bins. When we got to the front, after over an hour in line, we were informed they were sold out of everything, except for 3 or 4 pieces of size 6/8 , but we were welcome to shop the normal priced items inside. As I was leaving I heard numerous people talking about leaving negative reviews. I let the staff outside ,who'd let us know they were sold out, know that they might want to issue an apology to prevent a flood of negative reviews that I'd heard being mentioned. Another woman stepped up and said she was the mother of the girl I was speaking to, and if I had something negative to say, I could say it to her. I repeated what I said, and made sure to say I was not trying to be rude, and I apologize if I was coming off that way. That no one was upset they ran out, just at the lack of updates, and that they might consider apologizing before they get negative reviews. She snappily told me that if I needed to understand that the owner has an injured arm and a husband with cancer, and that I needed to understand that before writing a review. I'm not sure how that is related to the issues everyone experienced, rather than just trying to guilt me out of a review. Again, I'm not upset that they were busy or ran out. It was the lack of updates for the people who spent a large amount of time waiting only to be turned away with no warning or apology. And I have heard from other people that they were also snapped at by the owner and staff when voicing their frustrations. An apology of some sort would have made all the difference. I hope they learn from this, not only on how to run a sale, but how to treat their customers.

What it really came down to for me was my own personal styles/tastes and the prices being relatively high. Having been to many markets such as this one I just didn't find the assortment to be tailored to my likes as much. Some of the items here didn't seem fresh and look like items I've seen many times over at other collectives. Long story to say nothing screamed out to me as "super cool" or "I need to have it" Also the prices just seemed high on some of the items. A $25 hair clip? If I wanted to pay those prices I'd go to Anthropologie. At an artist collective in a spot like Ventura I wasn't expecting LA prices. I totally understand the prices are likely determined by the artists but when prices are generally high it steers people away. Unless you have deep pockets, it's not super affordable for me. I want to support local and am willing to pay but the quality and uniqueness has to be there. I knew I wasn't alone when I watched a guy and gal next to me look at a clothing price tag and immediately kept moving. Yes, this is a great place to browse. I appreciated the friendly service. But I wanted to shop so maybe the current inventory just isn't for me. Home goods and gifts this store really has it all. I also appreciate the layout and that items are kind of categorized by theme or item. For example, where I first walked in they had two tables filled with beachy items. Pillows, wall decor, stickers, mugs, candles you name it. Really convenient when you have a theme or idea in mind and they have an entire table dedicated to those items. In the back were the cutest and softest baby clothes. Some of my friends have had little ones and I will definitely be back to shop for them. They had a little bit of everything for almost everyone and any age. Well, maybe not for infants at least i don't recall seeing anything for infants. The found the prices on some of the merchandise to be reasonable. Some of the clothing were on the pricey side. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Although I didn't purchase the really cute, and funny kitchen towels, I did purchase a couple of stickers (I enjoy stickers!). This business will find me here again if ever in the area.

I found something for my aunt to make as a gift. She's making a goal to get around to all of the National Parks, and is steadily chipping away at it. What I got will help memorialize that in a whimsical way. The ladies who work the store are friendly and helpful, which makes the shopping experience even more delightful. Hugo Boss and Armani suits for on average $400-$500. Joe' Jeans for $50-$80. The best deal I ever found was a T-shirt for $0.01...that's right "one cent!" These days I enjoy shopping online. It's much more convenient and allows me to do a price comparison. Usually I will purchase two different sizes, then keep the size that fits best. It's also nice to have your items shipped to the local store, that way you don't have to stress with "Porch Pirates" stealing you deliveries! The Nordstrom Notes are always nice little surprises to add to the shopping experience. The team at the Oxnard is always willing to help with a pickup or return. I've been a happy Nordstrom Rack shopper for decades.

They have been always very friendly and helpful. They ask if you need help without being pushy or annoying. You can always find a coupon on magazines, if you don't, it's all good. They are always running sales. Their apparel washes well and they have lots of accessories. Did I mention their merchandise is super cute?? They have a tv that plays yo-gabba-gabba while you shop, so if your little one isn't into browsing for a new outfit he/she can watch a fun and safe show. The only downside it's the size of the store.
