Stopped in today in search of a higher quality chain for one of my more expensive pendants and was blown away by the selection and customer service here at Brooklyn Charm. I've been in here a few times and it's a super cool store. They have charms and chains beyond anything you could ever imagine! On the weekend this spot gets busy and it's a lot of fun watching people pick out custom charms to make their own jewelry. On the weekdays it's a little less busy so I found it to be the perfect opportunity to come in to find a chain for one of my pendants. Shoutout to Mackenzie for providing A+ service and support. Interacting with her was lovely from start to finish. She was super knowledgeable about the selection they have and was eager to help as I had a lot of questions. She took time to explain the difference in pricing between their costume jewelry chains and higher quality chains. Given that my pendant was very pricey to begin with it made sense to splurge for the $60+ dollar chain. It's nice though they have varieties for every type of person and they had chains as cheap as $10 so very reasonable depending what you need. Mackenzie walked me through the different silver chain options to find what would be the best fit for the pendant I brought in. I was super appreciative that she was hands-on and showed me different options so that I could pick out what looked perfect with my peace. She verified my chain length and gave more suggestions and then was able to put it all together, and it looked fabulous! It's always extra special when you have staff who are passionate about the work they do and are very helpful to their customers. This was my 2nd time coming here and designing my own jewelry and I loved it so much! Even though I got a little overwhelmed over the many choices of charms and accessories I had a blast with the experience. This time around I decided to make a pair of earrings that complimented my love for silver but also mix in a pop of color and of course my fur babies. So I ended up finding 2 cat faces 1 silver and 1 gold in color, then added something bluish with a little sparkle! It turned out better than expected. My friends and I came by to customize some bag charms not knowing we'd be spending MONEY. For one bag chain, we spent around $95! That's a chain and 8 charms. The charms are not handmade or one of a kind. In fact, they pretty poor quality and probably drop-shipped. The metal isn't silver or gold plated. You have to pay extra for sterling silver charms and there aren't very many of them. Some of the ordinary charms were an outrageous $12! I ended up not even buying anything because I couldn't get over the crazy prices for little charms. I just helped my friends find theirs. This is a fun splurge but i'm sure you could do this for cheaper elsewhere The staff were helpful and got my friends' chains made quickly. They gave good advice and helped us arrange the charms. My boyfriend and I had a great time today picking out charms and it was all a good experience for the most part. Except for when we were checking out. My boyfriend had already gotten his necklace and paid for both of us. So we just had to wait for my bracelet and the girl said it would be about ten minutes. No problem we were fine waiting. Then some girl from next door came over and they both just started gossiping. She never even started on my bracelet. We were waiting for about 5 minutes and she was still just talking to the girl from the business next door. The problem isn't that they were gossiping, the problem is that we were waiting for her to just put the bracelet together so we can leave. That seems a bit rude because how long were we supposed to stand there and wait for her to finish some conversation. Luckily another employee walked in and noticed that we were waiting and started to assist us and we were finally able to leave after a minute. The other girl was still gossiping as we left. We spent about $147 without tip for two bracelets and 12 charms total. This was a splurge but something we anticipated prior to starting the process. Each charm is $5+ and the bracelets are $10+ unless you get one of their gold plated ones which one of us did get. It is a little confusing when you walk in because there are no explicit instructions. There were only 1-2 people working at a time but the store can get busy especially if people stop in to look but aren't actually shopping for anything. Once you start shopping for charms there are clear sections of common themed charms but there isn't signage for that, you learn by doing the activity itself. We had to flag someone down for them to explain the process but the girls working there were so kind. I had read prior reviews about poor customer service toward POC, however, my husband and I both are POC and we felt very comfortable. Both girls went the extra mile to look for pieces that we wanted and couldn't find. We loved our pieces but when we got to the car realized they were too big on our wrists. When we came back to ask for them to be cut, there was no hesitation. It was done right away and they were extremely patient with us as we kept needing to adjust the sizing. There is a big selection and the ambience is great. I don't anticipate to wear this daily as the girls working were extremely clear that they can tarnish. There was a section of charms that would not tarnish (like the bracelet option) but the selection is SLIM and nowhere near as cute as the other options. Overall, a great experience. Their deadline for customs is 30 minutes before closing!! Came in at 7:10PM and the store closed at 8. No one greeted me or explained the process so I decided to browse for 15 minutes hoping someone would assist before I finally asked for help. It was 7:25 and I told the person at the counter what I wanted, and she was informative but said that they don't take customs after 7:30, so I had 5 minutes to pick what I wanted. I totally understand their rule and knew 5 minutes wasn't enough time to chose from all of their charms, so when I asked if I could just shop tonight (take my time picking my charms til 8 when they close) and pick it up tomorrow, they said it wouldn't be ready until end of day tomorrow. I was only staying in Ventura for the night so I could've picked it up within the first hour of the store being open the next day but not beyond that. I understand their limits on when they take customs, but I wish they were friendlier and more attentive when I got there. If I had known the rule when I arrived at 7:10, I could've picked everything by 7:30 and left happy. But no, no one to greet or explain how it worked and not even signage to say there's a deadline. It's also strange that they would push orders from the previous night to the end of their to do list the next day rather than doing it first thing. Definitely a MUST if you love custom jewelry and getting creative with your pieces. Went to Cali for memorial weekend and stayed in LA so this was about a 45 min drive but worth it. We got there with enough time to get coffee up the block and we were still part of the first group when they opened. It can get crowded so that's the best time to go. There are so many charms to choose from and I was so proud of my necklace. I also found a cute wishbone charm that I decided to make a separate necklace and everything came out to 103 which is a great deal to me. In Miami this would've been a lot more money. I have been to Ventura a handful of times and finally had a chance to drop by Brooklyn Charm. They had a bunch of little charms to look through and different vibes that you can achieve with the charms they give + the chains they offer. They are super organized where you have a writing system to tell them which charms you chose and how much they are. Worth the 2 hour drive, drove from the LA area up to Ventura just to visit this store! Me and my friends went early on a sunday afternoon, and have already planned to come back again soon. We got there at roughly noon (based on a tiktok recc) and it was the PERFECT time, we got there before the rush and were able to get our necklaces in at a great time! There are so many charms, it took our group (8 people) anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and a half, so be ready to take your time. The selection was amazing, each charm comes in gold or silver, and some in different finishes as well! They had such a wide range of charms, it was so fun finding them! Each charm varied from $3 to $10 based on size and detail, so the prices were great. They also have sterling silver ones were in the teens and up in terms of price. I bought 9 charms and my total was right under $40. We also bought our chains beforehand, which we all highly recommend! Once you pay for them, they take your tray to assemble the charm necklace. I really appreciated that they took a look at it and confirmed you loved it, yet were open to providing feedback if you wanted! By the time some of us handed them over it was busy, but the longest it took to wait was roughly 35 minutes (told 45 minutes) and some of them were ready within 20 minutes! The store is located in a super convenient location, theres cafes, restaurants, and more everywhere so time goes by quick. The associates there were BEYOND sweet, they were walking around talking to everyone as it got busier, and were able to get the line moving. You can also tell that they're very knowledgeable and experienced in this, so you can trust them with your piece. At one point I was specifically looking for an airplane for my last charm, and the girl I asked for help, took my right to it! I couldn't have asked for a better experience! Parking wise, there's a free lot up a very small hill, and it's right behind the store so it was great. read more

I came here with my friend (and 3 others) for her birthday to make necklaces/bracelets. We got here around noon and spent combined over $500, checking out around 2:45. We have back around an hour and a half later to pick up our jewelry and had some issues with the placement. I had paid extra for a longer chain, so that my charms could be more spread out. However, they were all clumped in the front, many of the ones in the middle blocking each other. I asked if the middle at least could be spaced out and the woman working responded that if i wanted it adjusted i could take it to the location in venice LA, which didn't sit great with me as I paid almost $165 for the necklace, and had already communicated before assembly that I wanted it spaced out. This was obviously frustrating and I it did not get fixed. But the main issue was with my friend's jewelry whose birthday it was (that day). When paying, she requested that her charms stay in the order she placed them and that the charms be placed two links apart. She also had a bracelet which she placed in order. Upon pickup, the charms were all placed only one link apart, were not centered on the chain, one of the necklace charms was placed on the bracelet, and all of the bracelet charms were on one side of the chain, leaving the rest blank. She naturally wasn't happy with the outcomes and requested that they be adjusted (as per the policy that is clearly and adamantly advertised). The woman working was extremely rude, tried to convince us that the charms were not only one link apart (with us clearly showing that it wasn't true), which she then realized and went back on. She tried to push back for 5-10 min, while we explained and tried to convince us that it didn't need to be fixed. She eventually begrudgingly agreed. We explained that we were visiting from out of town for the day, inquiring about timing, and she told us that they would be ready tonight and that she would text us when to come grab them. This is when I forgoed getting mine adjusted to ensure that my friends could be fixed since it was her birthday, which we communicated. We stayed in the area waiting soley for this, and hadn't received a text by about 6:15 (their close time is listed at 7pm), so we headed back to the store to check in. Immediately the employee told us with a smirk that they were closed and that she didn't make any adjustments to the jewelry. She was not apologetic at all, and seemed very happy to tell us that she hadn't done it, and she wasn't going to. It was passive aggressive and very belittling, as she acted when we first brought our adjustments up (which they encouraged us to do when we opened them upon pickup). On top of it all we heard the employees telling other customers that if you purchase more than 8 charms, you get 25% off, which all of us did, and none of us were given the discount. We've been to this location before, as well as other locations around the us, and have never had such bad customer service. We now have to drive to a new location to get ours how we asked for in the first place, after spending the mentioned $500+, on top of it being my friend's birthday. Was in the ventura area so I stopped by to check this place out! I had heard lots of great things about it online. They have an huge selection of charms and different silver and gold chains to choose from. I ended up picking a gold bracelet and 5 charms. The total was a little less than $50. Each charm is priced differently and they provide a little paper sheet for you to write down the priced of the charms you picked. They had lots of cute charms so it can take a bit to pick and decide! I loved the bracelet I ended up with. One thing to note is that they are COSTUME JEWELRY, I do wish they were gold plated or something. However, I've worn my pretty frequently since purchasing and the condition still looks great. When its busy, the wait time can be a little long. After you purchase your pieces, a staff member will assemble it for you and it can take awhile if theres people ahead of you. As the name says, it's significantly a charm store. If you want charms, this place has them. They aren't cheap, but there basically are no other bead/charm stores like this anywhere else around here so it's still a decent option. I came looking for beads and I was happy to find some small $1-2 bags of seed beads and other beads I could use. Bought a couple of charms too but at $6-12 I couldn't buy too many. Left with a small bag (~$45) worth of beads and charms. Was happy with my purchase and was able to complete my beaded projects when I got home. As usual, it's not really cheaper to make your own beaded things or charmed things by buying individual pieces at a store like this, vs buying a finished bead or charm item elsewhere, but coming to a shop like this lets you make it 100% to your liking and have the satisfaction of knowing you made it. This place is so unique and niche. I love it but some of the items can add up quickly. Everything in there is so cute. The place is really small but they manage to fit quite a bit in there. They are offering forever jewelry now which is super cool as well. Their staff is often very friendly, even when you encounter them at events like the street fair or the Ventura county fair. My daughter and her best friend opted to go here for their birthday and make best friend charm bracelets and they had such a blast. They also have a wide variety of chains to choose from! Not five stars for me because although cute it isn't "practical" jewelry for me and a lot of the metal jewelry tarnishes or gets that metallic smell after a while even though do have real metal or gold options that are pricier. My oh my...I had such a LOVELY experience!!!!!!!! Parking is readily available nearby this location. I heard it can get pretty packed depending on the time you go, and on Sunday at noon, there was a handful of people - as time went on more and more arrived till it was a full house! Even then, it never felt suffocating - just busy. Upon entry, you are welcomed to a seemingly endless wall of charms upon charms. Almost anything you can possibly think of existed, so I took an entire hour (it's the perfectionist in me, sorry!) to figure out all the charms I'd like to add to my necklace. I chose 9 charms and each of them ranged from about $4 to $10 for me! The necklace chains themselves are also sold here, however, I brought my own chain to add the charms to which was flexibility I really appreciated. Throughout this lengthy, but extremely enjoyable process, the staff was extremely kind. After taking my concoction to the front, I was met with such sweet employees that validated my choices with their compliments of the way I arranged my charms! I appreciated how patient they were with our group of 8 people (all of us getting necklaces!!!) and they let me know it would take about 45 minutes for them to assemble my necklace. The area surrounding Brooklyn Charm is so cute, so I did not mind the wait at all. There are so many cute shops and also several restaurant and snacking options! Even though I was prepared to wait the full time, they let me know my necklace was ready in only 20 minutes!!!!!! I was so surprised by how quickly they were able to do so and was even more happy with the result! The total cost of my personally customized charm necklace came out to be $52. While this may seem costly, I think it's mainly due to the number of charms I chose to add to my necklace. If you're on a tighter budget, you can put as many as you'd like from whatever range of prices you're comfortable with! Another perk I am a fan of is that you are able to add more charms or trade the charms you chose for different charms when you return! I was so beyond surprised by how much I adored the necklace I came out with. I feel like every minute I spent choosing which charms to add to create the look and theme I wanted truly paid off.
