The facts are, I LOVE pottery. Since my sophomore year in high school when I took pottery classes and really got to know how much goes into it, throwing the pots on the wheel, waiting for the kiln to finish, glazing, waiting again for the kiln.....then, the magic! I really admire it. I stumbled upon this little shop while poking around the Ventura Harbor recently and it really is quite a treasure. Each artist featured has their own unique style and I admired them all. However when I saw this beautiful ladle, I knew it was mine. I could already picture it hanging on my wall in my Big Bear cabin's wall in the rustic kitchen, which is where it is now, looking good! I'm so glad I stepped in, so glad it was reasonably priced, and even happier it fancied up my cabin's kitchen. See you next time! In

I really enjoy this gallery, all the pottery is made by different artists, each area in the shop is sectioned by artist. My friend and I went in searching for Christmas presents, I like to get some of my friends that appreciate art, a unique gift and I've never been disappointed when shopping here. I found heart shaped ornaments that had intricate details etched into the clay, they were beautiful in a non traditional way, I purchased two of them, the artist is Gayle Bentley Swanson. The second artist I purchased items from was Christine Watte , the pottery she carried was tuned to sea life & wildlife. I located an adorable sea turtle cup for my friend, the artist also had plates and bowls to match. I received a owl cup as a Christmas present from the above mentioned friend, it also had plates and bowls that matched. The gallery owner was very friendly and let us mill around the shop for as long as we wanted while we tried to make up our minds. So if you find yourself at the Harbor don't forget to stop by, you'll be missing out and some wonderful talent if you do.

this little boat is made by the president but that's not all she makes to be sure

This is a super great place and a rarity. Strictly pottery galleries and shops are not easy to find but at this gallery there are up to 30 different artists that are featured and participating in running the gallery. There are functional and sculptural and the price range is very reasonable. The Potters Guild has been there almost 8 years but the guild was founded and operational since 1957!

Great little gallery! This has been one of my favorites shops in Ventura for some years now. The gallery offers a great selection of pottery from local Ventura artists. You can find some unique gifts for your friends (and for yourself), and there are pieces available for all price ranges. I first saw this shop when we were on vacation some years ago and loved it. I live in Ventura now and still love it! So instead of buying someone a souvenir from Ventura, why not bring them something unique and handmade by a local artist? Good, friendly customer service and quality pottery.

What a great little shop in Downtown Ventura! This is one of the many hidden gems on Main Street,…read moreand if you're a local or even just visiting I would really recommend a quick stop in here! I visited on President's Day and it was a tad busy inside the store; but that's to be expected as it was busy everywhere! To be honest, the reason I stopped in here is because I saw the F*R*I*E*N*D*S gear repping Ventura. I will always be a tourist in my town. :) And, could I *be anymore serious? :) Staff was friendly; not too pushy. I loved that the store had a very "open" feeling inside, too. I get frustrated sometimes in stores Downtown that are cramped inside because I am always afraid I am going to knock something over. The souvenirs are really nice and well-made, too. Definitely does *not have the Vegas gift-shop vibe, if that makes sense. These items aren't mass produced...and you can tell. You can tell they mean something, too. I ended up getting a few stickers and a birthday present. I would definitely recommend stopping in here next time you're Downtown.

This shop is not a tourist shop with the same stuff that every other shop has. I was able to find the most unique gifts and could have bought up the whole store. If you're in town, go here!

This little bookstore makes a big impression! The environment is so welcoming and inclusive and has…read moreservice that exceeded my expectations. The team is so approachable and welcoming, so looking for niche romance novels is never intimidating. I'm a sucker for a good and cheesy romance novel and this spot meets my needs and more. In addition they carry beautiful local made trinkets and have the best selection of book related stickers!! Everything is reasonably priced and you have the added benefit of supporting a lovely Ventura business. Smitten holds release parties and while I didn't get to attend the one I purchased they held my book for me and even kept a pin for me that they gave out at the party! I hear rhag it was a black light event with games and snackies, what a treat! I hope you can visit sometime soon! Okay thanks bye!

I also saw tarot cards for dogs being sold, which made me smile. For a small to medium space, they make the most of fun and original books and other inspired art. In the back, there's a small meeting space. On the website, they have a lot of events - everything from book club meetings, tarot card readings, a journaling club, a writing club, book swaps, and more. I attended one of the book clubs, where everyone expressively and passionately explained the moments they liked and didn't like from the book. I would never have read such an entertaining and creative book if not for Smitten's book club. The book discussion made me like the book even more through everyone's inspiring analysis. Take a look at this fun, community-inspired bookstore!
