One of the worst interactions with a mechanic 5 I've had in the short span of owning a vehicle. Came in for a timing issue with my Vanagon and barely got back home due to it running 100% worse than when I got to the shop to get it fixed. I was able to sputter and limp into Just Andys in hopes that I could just leave it and Pierre could get to it when he could. To my surprise, he came out and said "let me take a look at it". He looked at the engine, touched a few things and the said "well here's the problem" and connected the part that had come undone and I was up and running like nothing had ever happened. Just Andy just gave my VW '72 Super Beetle Convertible new life! My car has been on the decline for the last two years to the point it wouldn't start. Pierre and his team are great! I've been using him as my primary mechanic since 2015. I'm not too knowledgeable about my VW, but Pierre makes sure to tell me each thing he is repairing, why and writes everything down. Major/ costly repairs he always calls me first to confirm the go ahead. I took my car to him today to get an oil change ( because each time I took it to another "chain" oil change place I inevitably ended up needing Pierre to fix what they broke.) We first came to Just Andy on a referral from a friend. My husbands car has a weird gooey substance near the oil cap and wouldn't start. Without even looking at the car, Pierre was able to diagnose the problem and gave us an easy fix-it solution (for free!). Thus began our long story of bringing every car to him. He has fixed my husband's car (VW Jetta), my car (Suzuki Esteem), and went so far as to look over trucks we wanted to purchase. After we bought our 1993 Dodge D350, he not only modernized the undersides, but fabricated a stabilizer after we had a little problem with the wheel alignment (The truck carries a Lance camper). We brought our 2006 Passat to Pierre, the owner of Just Andy, after a really bad experience with a different mechanic. He is up front, honest and he knows his cars!! After he fixed my car, my check engine light came on again, I called him and he told me to bring it in right away. He checked it out, called the dealership and found out there was a recall on a part. He drove it to the dealership and picked it up for me at no extra charge!! He also goes into great detail and explains exactly what the problem is, and what he needs to do to fix it. Twice, he has quoted us an estimate on what it would cost to fix the problem, and both times it was actually under that quote!! I have never had that happen!! Pierre (the owner and lead mechanic of Just Andy) fixed the steering and did a 50K major maintenance on our 2008 CR-V. We were extremely happy with his work, and his follow-up. He also had to replace an additional part as a result of a bunch of other work--not his fault, but he spent over an hour installing the extra part on a follow-up visit, without charging labor. He goes out of his way to show the customer exactly what he's doing and why--we were very happy with his work and his prices (about average prices, as far as I know, but very good value given in return). This shop is also next door to Sweet Elena's, a very nice cafe with great coffee and free wireless, which is very nice when awaiting work--Pierre will come and get you when your car is ready.
