I recently bought a 2008 Porsche 911, I bought it sight unseen and asked Mike to take a look at it to be sure I wasn't going to inherit a money pit. I dropped it off and within one day he identified all the issues, any potential future issues and called me with a very reasonable quote to make it run reliably. I got the car back and it ran better than it did before I took it to him, everything worked on it and his recommendations were spot on. Don't get me wrong, I love my Porsche dealer, but not when I need something yesterday or something simple like an oil change. You'll pay 2-3 times more at Porsche just cause. BE FOREWARNED ! * 0 Stars * Dave is a TOTAL INCOMPETENT ASSHOLE, no two ways about it, that runs around the shop like a chicken with its head cut off and mumbling to himself. He yells at his employees to and speaks to them in a VERY disrespectful manner. Tom Andrews and Jeff Jacobsen of Bay Motor Werks took care of all of my BMWs for over 40 years without any issues like this, at all. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE !! I brought my 2007 BMW 328i in with a few electrical issues. Dave spent an hour diagnosing the problem, concluded it was a bad FRM Module and stated I was free to buy a new FRM module from another source.and he scheduled the work 3 weeks out. I then brought my car in and his diagnosis totally changed and I was left stuck with a $525 FRM module that I don't need. Dave, Mike and River then turned into assholes too, calling me names like "drug addict", "faggot" "cheap" "cry baby" and ordering me to leave. Then his buddies, some I've never seen before, got it on it and started threatening me, flipping me off and calling me names. Really ? Very unprofessional and it reminded me of being in high school again ! It's sad to watch Dave, Solomon and River kiss Dave's ass in order to keep their jobs ! WHAT A MISTAKE IT WAS TO TRUST THIS GUY DAVE !!! Yes Dave, as you told me, you SHOULD get out of the auto repair business because YOU SUCK ! Couldn't ask for a better place in the area to take our Porsche and BMW for repairs. When we first moved to the area, we took our BMW to the dealership for routine work. By the time they were done, we had an over $5,000 bill. My husband told Dave about this on our first visit to C&C and he said he could have accomplished the same work for half the price. And, yes they use genuine parts. Since our first service we have continued to take our cars to Dave and Mike. We are comfortable that the service we receive is honest, reliable and reasonably priced. In face our BMW broke down yesterday, ironically right in Geary Plaza in front of the BMW dealership. My husband called Dave, explained the problem and Dave already knew the fuel pump had locked up. We had the car towed to C&C late Friday afternoon. Early Saturday morning, Dave called to advise it was in fact the fuel pump. He explained the part would be in Monday and quoted a price. We couldn't be happier with the service we receive at this shop. Everyone has always been friendly, plus they have dogs. We will keep using C&C as long as we own German automobiles. This was one of the best experiences I've ever had with a mechanic. I used to take my car to Firestone where they would always end up finding 5 other things that suddenly had issues and needed to be fixed right away (total con artists at Firestone). I never felt like I could trust them to be honest with me. I took my car here and for the first time in years I actually felt like the mechanic was being totally honest and transparent with me. I told him what was wrong with my car and he found and fixed the issue immediately, no catches or surprise unrelated problems popping up like I've experienced with so many other mechanics. Every time we talked to someone in this shop they were honest, up front, and polite. We needed to replace a battery for Audi 2005. When we ran into difficulties getting the car to the shop they helped troubleshoot solutions. This included for us, remove the battery, bring to them to confirm correct replacement, and sell us a battery. They even had it in stock. This also included updating the Audi software to confirm the replacement (done by us) and check there were zero faults. They even checked our tire pressure, answered our questions, all for a reasonable cost, with super friendly customer service. They accommodated all this in a drop in fashion ( no appointment). My car (Subaru Forester) went to shit out of nowhere, really messed up, and I didn't know where to go, I called up this shop and spoke with Nick, one of the mechanics, who happened to work on Subarus!!! He took my Subi in and did a stellar job. He was honest, told me exactly what was going on in my car (my car knowledge is at a big zero haha so he was a huge help) and he was totally affordable vs. most the shops here in Monterey. He fixed/ replaced my axle, right wheel bearing, brake pad caliper and some other technical stuff that was in dire need. Stoked with the result, got my Subi back on the road! 10/10 recommend. Rarely write reviews other than 5 star so here goes . New to area and found Mini Specialists few and far between . Thumbed thru all the Garages on Yelp in Monterey County and C and C had a Mini logo on their website so I called with a request for completion of a 60k mile service . Dave asked when was you're last oil change ? I said just did it . Dave asked any warning lites on .I said nope . Dave said bring it in for your next oil change and we will give it a bumper to bumper inspection 5k miles from now . 5k miles passed and I changed my oil along with the simpler tasks such as spark plugs,filters etc and made an appt to have the automatic transmission serviced along with coolant and brake fluid changed . Mike did the bumper to bumper ,the services, and found an inner brake pad that was dragging and worn to nothing and repaired that too . Mini was finished by 3PM . At pickup Mike went thru each and every procedure along with taking the time to listen to my old car stories . This shop is what an automotive repair shop should be . I called this shop to do a pre-purchase inspection for a 2000 Porsche Boxster S that is listed in the same area. I plan on having the car shipped to Florida (a long way and quite expensive). Mike gave me an education about this model which can have a very expensive repair with the auto transmission. He basically did not charge me anything for his time but gave me solid advice as to what I should be looking for. Good and honest mechanics are hard to find these days. I've been at C&C three times with my mini. I was always happy with their prices. Today I went again to check the brakes that I thought already had to be replaced. These guys are really honest. I was not charged anything for the checkup of the car and I was told that the brakes were still at their 60% before replacement was needed. In my ignorance, they could have just replaced them and charge me for it, but they didn't. Furthermore, he told me that I had to take care of a steering pump that Mini had recalled. When I asked if he could replace it he said that I was better to take it to the dealer which would do it for free! read more

Ultra fast to diagnose issue and repair ignition coil and replace spark plug VERY early Monday morning. Got me back on the road and back to the Bay Area by 11am! My 2001 Boxster S was ready for its 60K service and I needed to find a local shop of Porsche guys. I knew about the IMS bearing issues and after talking to Dave and the guys in the C & C shop, I figured it was a good time to do that too. The IMS bearing job exposes the car to several other components that may have questionable life at this mileage so replacing them at the same time made a lotta sense. So, I now have an early and uniquely optioned Boxster S that runs and feels as good as new and is ready for some beautiful top-down drives around the bay and the coast! I would have really loved this place if the boss, Dave, is someone who can show better customer service and empathy to a customer in-need. Despite being a frequent customer due to a problematic BMW X5, Dave showed little consideration for me when I called in for assistance the last time my car broke down on me. He was (understandably) reluctant to accommodate to my requests for an early repair due to his schedule but the way that he spoke to me was regrettable, even though I suspect that he remembers my (problematic) car and of course, the customer in me. There is really no need to be curt when you are doing business, even if you think you are the best in the area. That said, the work that C&C does is pretty decent. The repairs do get a little pricey though although they insist that they use German engine oil and parts. One of the quotes on a electronic water pump was some 60% higher price than a quote I got from a mechanic at Seaside. But you never know if the parts are the same to be fair. The two other service staff (one of them is Dave's son) are very nice, friendly, and helpful chaps. Enjoy chatting with them as well. My suggestion is for anyone to call in to ask if they are available before heading down, and hopefully catch Dave on a good day. read more

OMG! I didn't know there were such wonderful car geniuses in Monterey!! I had a problem with my "new" used M class Benz and they diagnosed it over the phone and advised me NOT to drive it.... So I called AAA, had it towed to them (I had been on my way to WORK!!)....they had the part, correctly diagnosed it and fixed it in 30 min!! Even though I was "Triaged" (I'm a nurse) into their busy day!! I still made it to work! I am very impressed. Bottom Line: If you have a BMW and it needs a repair, this is the shop you must patronize. Info: After stripping the transmission fill plug bolt head while trying to remove it from my 2005 BMW X5, I placed cold calls to the local BMW dealership and other local auto shops for help. In each call, I received lack-luster, half-hearted feedback with the recommendation (if they could even be bothered) to drop the vehicle with them on a future date to be looked at and then reviewed for a potential fix action. After seeing another BMW repair review on C&C Repair, I was encouraged to call them, and I was very happy I did! Not only did the gentleman on the phone listen to my problem, he knew what the exact issue was and encouraged me to bring it to his shop immediately. I was able to personally witness the fix action take them less than a minute. He would not even let me pay for the service provided. C&C Repair, you gents rock! The trunk in my 2005 Mercedes SLK350 would not stay up. I had taken it to another shop, which was unable to fix the problem. Dave immediately identified the issue, ordered the parts, and told me to come back at 2pm that same day. He installed the new parts in about 10 minutes flat and only charged me the legit cost of the parts. I will add that I am a 50+ woman, who brought the car there on my own.
