They listened to my issue and provided no guidance. Then neglected to mention that Hondas do not like anything other than OEM parts and proceeded to charge me $350 to install an after market part and when it didn't work then they mentioned the OEM requirement for Hondas. So I took it somewhere else and come to find out they had incorrectly installed the wiring harness. When I called them and told them what the other mechanic had found they weren't concerned at all and made 0 effort to even try and make it right. read more

Solis Auto worked on my Ford Transit and installed new brakes. They were fast and everything worked out great. I brought my Audi in for a break job, and this was tricky because of the types of brakes required. The first set squeaked and I had to bring the car back. They opened a spot for me and installed a different set of breaks at no cost. Those ended up squeaking also, so I had to bring the Audi back again. Solis did the research and found the best breaks for the vehicle. The noise finally settled down. The fact is - even with a difficult situation - they went above and beyond to ensure I was satisfied. Solis does not manufacture breaks so I know the squeaking was not their problem, but they certainly went out of their way as if it were. I've had my truck for 11 years and joe has been my mechanic from the beginning. It all started when I initially took it to Toyota because my Tundra was having an acceleration issue. It would accelerate and pull back. Toyota told me they'd have to hook it up to the computer and see what it says which would at least cost 150 bucks. So I took it to Joe and explained the problem. He looked at my transmission oil and it was empty. 10 bucks later my problem was resolved. He's also changed two timing belts (not because they broke but the Milage requirement ) spark plugs , hoses , etc. he's honest and hard working. No one else I trust more with my Truck. read more

I don't even know where to begin with this shop. My entire experience was positive and I have nothing but kind things to say. I live 3 hours away and at one point my car would not accelerate at all. Somehow, my car made it to their shop and Joe managed to diagnose the problem quickly and for once in my life, someone sat down and took the time to explain what was really going on. Newer cars can be a huge pain in the ass to figure out and he still took the time to walk me through his plan of action and had the patience to call multiple locations in town and out to find the part and got it in the next day. Joe's wife Chelsi also was very supportive and cheerful and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and even recommended paths to walk down to get to our hotel safely! Shout out to Jason as well for also being informative and genuine about the information I was getting out the car and it's issue going on. It was a really scary experience, but they made it feel way more hopeful. If you come here, whether they can fix it or not, you will be taken care of. We were desperate to get our car looked at before everyone closed for the weekend, and Joe was kind enough to squeeze us in. I think we first talked to Joe's wife, who was so friendly and kind. Joe met us and immediately ran diagnostic tests and very carefully explained what he was doing. Joe showed us so much honesty and generosity that I worry about the survival of his business. We paid much less than his time is worth, and he told us that it wasn't worth trying to fix on the spot and also how to get our car home. Joe Solis automotive has saved me hundreds of dollars, lots of time and undue stress. I used to take my car to a dealership, but a couple of years ago, after they suggested many costly repairs, I decided to drive a few minutes down the road to get another opinion. Joe showed me the fluids and belts that the dealership had suggested that I replace. They were hardly worn. When I went back to the dealership, they said that I didn't really need to do it "right away." Hmmm....? Recently, my "check engine" light went on. As always, I drove to Solis Automotive where they diagnosed my car. The problem was very minor, and they suggested that I wait until my scheduled service. They didn't charge for that diagnosis or again when I went back a second time to be reassured that the light meant nothing. But, better than the money saved was the time...Now I can schedule a service when it's convenient. A similar thing happened when my daughter was visiting with her two sons. She had a warning light go on. We drove right to Solis. He diagnosed, gave us suggestions, did some mechanic's "magic," and she was able to head home without the warning light to take care of the problem at her convenience. Have known Joey since he was a kid, and it makes sense that he is a great mechanic. He has always put things together! I have three old cars that sometime need special attention. He always knows the problem when I describe it. He is foremost, and most importantly for me, honest. One thing i know is Joey is as honest as the day is long. this guy will tell you straight up whats wrong with your car. sometimes its worth fixing and sometimes its not. Joey will let you know. his prices are reasonable and he does some of the best work on the peninsula. This guy has been a grease monkey for all his life. he knows vehicles better than most of you know your own children. he will fix you ride fast and at a good rate.
