Rough experience. Made an appointment, was there two hours for an oil change. It cost $123. Not sure if that's a normal price for the area, would love a comment, but it seems steep. They replaced the air filter without asking me, that was an additional $48. Made the mistake of asking them to change the driver's side wiper. The said they only come as a pair, then charged individually for a driver's side and a passenger side. Labor cost to swap wipers? $44.80. Reviews on here seemed pretty good, so we gave it a shot, but won't be coming back. read more

I regularly come in for oil changes as my job requires me to do a lot of driving, I had my timing belt changed last year due to some rattling and my car has been working smoothly ever since, and have had a few other smaller things changed over the years and will continue to keep coming back for any other services my car needs. The team here is friendly and most people are bi-lingual (Spanish-Speaking), the waiting area has comfy chairs and a Keurig machine, and sometimes they even have donuts for us while we wait! These guys are not only very honest and sincere, they do great work and are a pleasure to do business with. I brought my truck in having been given misinformation that I needed a timing chain which was going to cost at least a couple thousand dollars. They could've easily just done that since that's what I requested but since it didn't need it they didn't and they did the minimal amount of work that was needed and it cost me under $400. Hands down the best mechanic in town, I cannot speak more highly of them! First, they are courteous, kind, friendly, and provide great customer service. Every time I go in, they remember me even if it's been a few years (and how I had so many issues with horribly misogynistic service over at Cardinale GMC) and go out of their way to make me feel comfortable with them. I am always cautious of being taken advantage of or being treated unprofessionally in male-dominated industries like automotive care, but Sasaki Brothers does business with me equally, respectfully, and professionally. I am in the car business and have seen so many horrible examples of how mechanics and dealerships treat their customers, SB is a shining example of how to do it right. They take great care of your car while its in their shop, providing you with text and photo updates if more exploratory maintenance is required, they check with me before adding on costs, and always try to give me affordable car care. Their maintenance is excellent and stands the test of time, they don't suggest services I don't need, and they are incredibly knowledgeable about several vehicles I've owned. They don't spam me with marketing emails or calls and their family-operated business model makes all the difference. I trust them with all my vehicles due to their quick and knowledgeable service, honesty, and professionalism. I have been bringing my car since my employer recommended them, and generally I don't write reviews but I just felt the need too. It all started when my car over heater and stopped working. Pasquale was there on a rare Saturday and told me to get it in and he'd take a look. They did an amazing job and returned my car with in a couple days. Just recently my car (mind you it's getting old) check engine light came on and I did not hesitate I called Sasaki Brother's, and again bring it in we'll take a look. They determined the issue and had my car back to me in no time. And even gave me a bit of a break. These guys are good people. They are fare, quality and just plane good people. I can not say enough about them. It is so nice to find a mechanic (especially as a woman) who will treat you with respect and be honest. My family and I decided to go on a little road trip into Monterey. Our trip suddenly came to a screeching halt when one of our belts on our truck busted. We parked somewhere by fisherman's wharf. My husband popped the hood and tried to see if he could fix it but it wasn't happening. He looked up and saw a yellow penzoil sign and decided to take a chance and see if these guys could help out. We were so lucky to find Pascual the owner there. He knew right away what the problem was. Within minutes he diagnosed the problem and ordered the part which was delivered very quickly. We were on our way within 45 mins. His price was more than reasonable and his level of professionalism was top notch! His business card says "The shop you can trust". I had this shop replace the motor in my car and when I picked up my car there was a large dent in the trunk and they said it could be polished off. No, they weren't able to "polish" or rub it out and one of the owners, Saul, offered arrangements to have a "friends" shop in Salinas or a family members shop in Castroville repair the damage. I asked if there was a loaner vehicle or if he would pay for a rental while the repairs were to be made and he declined. I then filed the claim with my own insurance to have the repair done. Recently it was discovered I had a leak and I contacted Saul to see what the warranty was for the leak. He provided inaccurate information which I verified with Jasper and advised me to contact Wayside Garage and not to bother him again. This is the service I received after spending over $5000 at this repair shop. read more

In August of 2018, I experienced a transmission cable breakage on my four wheel drive SUV, which was parked at Laguna Seca raceway. Luckily, I tired to move it on Friday, rather than Sunday when trying to get back to San Diego. Neither of the appropriate dealers in town could work me in to the shop or have the part in stock. Since I had a transportation background, I called a couple folks I knew and they hooked me up with lists of dependable shops in the area, one of which was Sasaki Bros. I called them and they could do two things, first buy the possible end grommet and repair the cable and also buy the cable if the quick fix would not work. They could also get me in that same Friday afternoon if I came to them right away. I was lucky that the tow truck was already at the track, so was at their shop in under an hour and they already had the "cheap fix, might work" part there and the actual entire cable on the way. My good luck was not perfect, as the cheaper fix was not going to work (they showed me the part and it was same one I would have tried, so nothing was done to push me to the bigger repair). i had time for lunch and a good walk and in a few hours, they cable arrived, they removed the shaft tower and all that plastic, fished in the new cable and I was on way back to the ampgounds and had only missed half a day of racing. Good job guys. Repair was not cheap, but it was priced fairly and three months later, truck still shifting gears like it is supposed to. That's what you ask for from a repair shop. read more

Amazing service!! Friends 7 series bmw parking break locked up. We walked over right before they closed from the McDonald's across the street. Pascual walked over and looked at the car and said the bring it to the shop. He put it up on a jack and confirmed the parking break was locked on. He put a computer reader on the car and it showed a fault in the parking break module. He tried with the computer to bypass it and it would not go. He then opened up the trunk and pulled the parking break module apart and confirmed the gears were stripped out. He pulled out the broken gears and manually released it so we could drive back to the Bay Area. Again amazing customer service and just nice guys!! read more
