"Please feel free to share" hope to reach the abbotsford community... We feel strongly that our family pet Tori was let down, neglected and we want people to be aware. NOTE: pics could be disturbing to some. On February 27, 2023 our 13 year old yorkie terrier was attached by another dog or as we were informed "possibly caught on a piece of wire". This occurred while in the "trusted" care of Just About Pets in Abbotsford. She was dropped off around 8am and picked up just after 4:45pm the same day. Signed her out and waited for her to run around the corner. She did not; they were carrying her in a blanket, and I was told she was tired. When I went to put her in her travel kennel, I noticed she is shaking, and I saw the injury. My husband asked what happened and no one seemed to know. He told them he is taking her directly to the Vet. He arrived at the Vet hospital and they were able to see her right away. They said there was a hole in her belly and that she needed surgery right away and had to leave her over night. My husband went home and received a call early the same evening. The vet said that she will have to have surgery the next day as she was too inflamed and infected and they needed to get that under control. The vet expressed they were very upset as she must have been sitting in that state for many hours and they took pictures of the injury. She had surgery the next day with a drain tube. To make this story shorter, she ended needing a 2nd surgery and part of it was due to the infection. It was a difficult recovery and she is still not quite the same. On March 22, 2023 we went to see the CEO for some answers. We asked if there were any cameras and how this could have happened. There must have been blood. We left there feeling nothing was answered, if anything we felt worse. No there is not cameras in the back where they keep the dogs, someone did see a few drops of blood but were not sure where they came from. It could have been a dog bite or maybe from a wire, sticking out, that can harm dogs. He also mentioned that on many occasions they could have up to 60 dogs per day. That is the information we received, so disturbing, brought tears to my eyes. How could there only be a few drops of blood, and even if it were in fact a few drops of blood, do you not investigate to see where it came from? This is how infections started and to leave a pet that has obviously been injured without looking into it for hours is extremely unacceptable no? On March 6, 2023, I went to the back of this facility to where they let the dogs outside, which is a small caged in area. I did see a small to medium sized dog with a larger one. I am not sure how exactly they keep the dogs separated and how it is determined. I have spent endless hours searching for regulations and trying to get information from lawyers. I was unable to find much as far as regulations go. We want to share this hoping this business will change their practices and care for the pets. Dog trainer here. After a couple of chances I've decided to leave a review and disclose some of the troubling things we've witnessed at this day care. Against my spidey senses and better judgement we gave Just about pets a few tries. Unfortunately there isn't a ton of choice for doggy daycare in Abby. However, after a few days at Just about pets we've decided to make other arrangements for our dog due to safety concerns. Please note that we approached the staff several times about our concerns and some of the troubling reviews, but we were told all the negative reviews were the result of a disgruntled staff. Easy to say. However, we saw with our own eyes that the concerns are very valid. Here are some thing to pay attention to: 1. The smell The place will burn your nose hairs. This says that the dogs are forced to pee/poo inside the faculty. This is a simple health hazard. 2. They do not ask for proof of health. Although everyone has a different view of vaccines, it is concerning that anyone can bring a dog in with a variety of health issues. Our dog got kennel cough very quickly after 1 or 2 visits. We were told that its just a cold. Vet has now said otherwise. 3. The noise There is very little control over the non-stop barking. This speaks of low staff ratio and lack of engagement as well as anxiety in the dogs. If your dog is already anxious, they may come home looking tired but it may be anxiety over the non-stop barking. 4. The lack of control in the front/dog education I was standing at the cashier when a big dog came bounding out unleashed. When you get your dog, they are called into the front room via intercom, The dog is released from the back room unsupervised and allowed to come into the front room. You need to catch your dog before they bound around the store. Today, they let a huge, young dog come running out into the main area and the dog went for me, unprovoked while I was standing in line. Let me be very clear. i did not reach for the dog, make eye contact or engage with the dog at all. The owner was able to pull the dog back but it was a near miss. I'm very lucky that my training ensured that I did not react and she was able to move the dog to her car. The front desk witnessed this and told me it was because the dog is fearful. What are they doing letting a reactive fearful dog off leash into a main area with others dogs, unfamiliar people, children and several disabled staff's dogs???!!!!! This is a tragedy waiting to happen. And it won't be with our dog. Please think twice and look for the signs before you think about sending your dog here. read more

This place sold me cat treats expired 2 years earlier. They made my Cat very sick and he happened to be boarding there at the same time as we were moving. Worst decision ever!!! BEWARE!!!! My cat almost died from a bacteria he got while in their care. They didn't refund me anything and I was stuck with a huge vet bill where he nearly died. Apparently they don't clean with anything more than vinegar and water, I was told by a vet in town he's had many cases in town of very sick (almost near death) animals come to him after they had been in this store. I also personally know two other people who have had horrible experiences from doggy daycare and one other person whose dog had a horrible grooming experience. Seriously if you want your animal to be healthy than keep them away from this place. read more

Fantastic company, I have been taking my dog here for a couple months now. The first time we had a meet and greet to make sure she was a good fit for daycare. Abby loves it there and gets excited every time we pull into the parking lot. read more

Caring and compassionate staff, lots of friends to play with, and clean facilities make this a spot my pup looks forward to going multiple days per week. The only downside is no air conditioning but that's by no means a requirement with lots of shade and open areas with pools and obstacles to play on outside. The staff and owner genuinely care for their clients and their clients furry friends and it shows every time I arrive with my pup by his excitement and enthusiasm. read more

NEVER experienced such horrible and careless service like we did today. My dog is a doodle meaning he's fluffy and curly, has fluffy ears and a fluffy tail. When we picked him up they had shaved him down to the bone ALL OVER except the tip of his tail. They said "he was causing a scene" he is curly so brushing him takes more time and patience which they don't have as their reasoning for sheering him like a sheep was because he was matted (he wasn't) and even after shaving him down to nothing it's STILL UNEVEN! I don't understand their reasoning for doing consultations when they just do what's fastest for them. read more

Great daycare. My daughter and I both use this place for our dogs. The dogs love going there. They usually go 2 to 3 times a week for half days. My dog only needs that to get her weekly workout. read more

Only 1 staff member for an average of 50 dogs, accidental breedings, no A/C in the summer, and they clean with bleach which not only raises ammonia levels when mixed with urine but burns the dogs paws... don't take your dog here read more

Why I'm choosing this rating was I felt like I wasn't very respected or treated fairly when I was 1 of the volunteers there.. it's a great place to bring pets but not the best place to volunteer though.. speaking from experience .. I would get bad anxiety with dog fights and there wasn't very many people in the staff I could trust with my life of how I have to live being born with epilepsy (seizures) .. but it's great for bringing your cat or dogs.. read more

We love taking our dog to daycare! He gets a big smile on his face as we pull up to the door and always leaves happy and tired. We do find daycare is a little on the expensive side, particularly because our dog boarding place charges less for a 24 hour stay than this centre does for a daytime stay, but it's a convenient location and the staff are so caring and sweet with our dog. read more

I saw these guys at the Pet Lover's Expo. they were one of the dime a dozen booths that were in attendance this year. They specialize in Raw food for your pets. I am all about the Raw food diet and I am proud that Freedom, my black lab got the best food, however, Raw food can be $$. That isn't to say that my pet isn't worth it but it is hard to put your pet on a raw food diet all the time. These guys make it easier by having meals pre-made. Guys at the booth were very nice, informative and were very into their own products. They were one of the many Raw food/natural booths at the expo which is why this and some other's may have the exact same review. The ingredients are better than human grade. Here was my issue, they're a company from the US. Why would I want to buy US when there are tons of local companies in BC doing the same thing? I did listen to what they had to say as I was curious and they did some sample hook ups. read more
