This is my second visit to Colmar. I stopped at my favorite restaurant to try their delicious salad! I was not disappointed. The service was friendly and attentive. Waited about 20 minutes to order coffee after seating ourselves inside and gave up. Went to use the restroom on the way out and you'd best believe that got me noticed right away. Rude manager starts yelling at me you have to buy something. I told him I'd have loved to order 20 minutes ago and he shook an empty cup at me and kept yelling. After a morning of exploring Colmar, few things sound more satisfying than a tarte flambée for lunch. For the uninitiated, it's kind of like a flatbread pizza with white sauce and bacon, but even that description doesn't do it justice -- you'll just have to try it! In any case, at lunchtime I had my mind made up for some tarte flambée. A quick search on the app helped me find a nearby restaurant, and my friend and I made our way over. We were immediately seated indoors (although there are large heaters if you want to brave the outdoor seating during the winter time) and placed our order for a tarte flambée. It quickly arrived at our table and -- as happens with a tarte flambée -- it disappeared quickly, and already had our eyes on a different one. My friend ran to the restroom, and while he was gone a server came by to clear his utensils. I asked him to leave them and requested another tarte flambée. A stretch of time passed before our first server came back and we told her we had wanted to order another tarte flambée, and had the other server put that order in. He hadn't, so we had to wait a bit longer. Once not even a crumb was left, we requested the check. It took a while to come, and we gave our server our credit card. After about 10 minutes she hadn't come back by, and we inquired about our check. "Oh, our credit card machines are down and we had to reboot them." Another 10-15 minutes and we inquired again. She came back by with our card and said that the machine was broken, and there is an ATM down the street where we can grab cash. That whole bit was a little inconvenient, so make sure you bring cash and expect service that might be off-putting to Americans. But with the right payment and the right expectations, you'll have a good meal at Jupiler. read more

This was one of several little outdoor cafes in this little French town. They are famous for the Flammenkuchken here so we got it. Its like a thin chewy crust pizza with what looks like sour cream spread on top along with strips of ham and cheese and then its quickly baked to melt everything. Not bad really. read more

I visited 4 restaurants in colmar and I believe it is the best place when you expect a satisfying lunch and dinner. You can enjoy several Alsace specialties and various kinds of dishes from omelette to steak which comes with green salad and potato chips. Staff are nice and kind. The inside of the restaurant is clean and cozy, outside area is adorable to enjoy sunshine. I recommend to try duck breast with munster cheese . Please don't forget to add Alsace wine. I read more

We just left Italy and had regretted not eating more pasta while we were there. So we were so happy to stumble on Jupiler Cafe. It's right in the heart of Colmar, and super relaxed. We are the Carbonara pasta and a side of fries, and the two of us didn't even finish the carbonara. The portions were huge! Really enjoyed this place! The restaurant is really cute & is in a great area. The food was pretty good as well but the best part was dessert! We ordered the creme brulee and I can honestly say, it was probably the best I've ever had! The service was really good as well. read more

This place was just okay. We ate an early dinner (flammenkuchken - again just okay). Good thing we went early because for some reason they closed early, much earlier than the rest of the restaurants and shops. When we asked why, our server just said they would be open again tomorrow. What?? That's okay - it gave us the opportunity to eat a delicious dessert somewhere else. read more

We wanted to get coffee and some croissants inside but we were asked to sit outside. Although there was plenty of room inside. Outside is was raining and it was very cold. I would not ask my dog to eat outside if it's raining and cold. Cold people!!! read more

brassiere in the picturesque little venice area of colmar with an outstanding selection of beers on tap. sat on the patio on a cool night. ambience was perfect. ordered salad with toast and goat cheese as well as duck with honey sauce and fries. there was a side of zucchini but i left it alone. the food and beer were extremely flavorful and the texture was righteous. the server was friendly and in unusual fashion, the food and beverages were delivered promptly. we had two meals and 3 large beers for 52 euros - an awesome value for an eatery that was on spot across all areas of the dining experience. read more

Our first french meal in France and it was pretty good. We arrived at 9:30 and the kitchen had closed, so they only offered flambées and röstis. We got one of each! I had never had either of these foods before, so they were tasty and interesting, as they're Alsatian specialties! The restaurant is in a great lively location. We were surrounded by people sitting outside and having a couple of drinks. My biggest complaint is the service was slow, since they were busy and did not have many servers. But all in all, it was a pleasant meal. read more

The town of Colmar is a wonderful place with picturesque scenery at every turn. I had a hard time finding any of the higher rated places open so tried this spot. Decent food in good location. Good selection of beers and wine. read more
