You sort of brace yourself for the worst but boy was I wrong. These two fellows got to work right away and had me out of the old place in an hour less than I had estimated. They worked their tails off. They were both polite, well spoken and professional. What? Movers? Yes! Through all this horrible weather they never complained or stopped. BEWARE is the best advice I can offer after two experiences with TALO…read more This is what I have learned to expect from them: They will be late. On the first move, they were 3 hours late because a driver had called in sick. That can happen, and I thought it forgivable. Two years later on the second move, they were 4 hours and 40 minutes late. Again "a driver called in sick". Apologies were offered on both occasions, but that did nothing to mitigate the exhaustion experience by this senior caused by a 9-hour moving day for a 550 square foot space. They will lose something. On the first move, vacuum cleaner attachments went missing. I didn't notice this until the next day so too late to report. On the second move, two woven baskets and a 3-foot silk plant went missing. This I noticed and reported within an hour of the team leaving but I received only repeated assurances of how important my concern was and how "Our top priority as your go-to home moving company is the protection and safety of your possessions". Nice words, no action. There will be damage to something. On the first move, it was minimal. The leg of a dresser was loosened and bent and the frame of a folding table was slightly bent. On the second move, there was damage to a leg on each of two recliners, a chip out of a wooden kitchen table, and slight damage to the finish of a TV stand. Again, I was far too tired to notice these things before the team left, so too bad for me. The team will be friendly and personable. Fairness demands that I report the good as well as the negative. Justin and Jason were both very pleasant to deal with and are good ambassadors for TALO. This is the first negative review I have ever posted in any circumstance but conscience dictates that I alert unsuspecting potential clients of the pitfalls that I met with on two separate encounters with Take A Load Off Moving Ltd.

Add to that being verbally threatened by the guy in charge and you may understand why in my opinion you should stay clear of this company. They arrived right on time and immediately got to work with a great attitude--friendly, positive, and incredibly professional throughout the entire day. They had to make a stop at a dumpster first and but were back to our place promptly to start packing, which we really appreciated. Once they began, they worked non-stop--fast, efficient, yet very careful with all of our belongings. I offered to buy them lunch, but they kindly declined and said they preferred to make a quick stop on the way. They were very appreciative of the gesture, which speaks to their professionalism and courtesy. At our new place, they went above and beyond--patiently helping us place items in different rooms and even rearranging things when we needed to make space for additional items coming in. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble for them. Overall, they made what could have been a stressful move feel smooth and easy. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, hardworking, and positive movers!

They arrived on time and worked hard at getting the job done as quickly as possible. The only issue I had was that they were sent a truck that was too small to accommodate all of our possessions, and we were left to actually move our barbecue grill, treadmill, and a refrigerator to our new location on our own. Regardless, I would still recommend them highly and just make sure that your quote is very specific to all items.

horrific experience with nanaimo clydesdale moving. wade refused to give us an invoice for the…read moremove. he personally came to our home and demanded payment the dayafter we had just moved in. gave him a cheque for the amount he requested as he was very intimidating. when i asked him for an invoice after i paid him, he phoned the nanaimo spca to tell them i had cats who were not looked after, i straightened that out with the spca. unbelievable. there were serveral items that were missing one being a crystal lamp that i cherished which tim put in the cab of the moving truck saying it would be safer there. i later phoned tim re missing lamp and he said they forgot. i asked him to then deliver it to me, but he never did. i never did get an invoice. wade is the son of an old high school friend so i trusted him. he had previously spent 10 years in prison, not sure what the crime was.
