    BEWARE is the best advice I can offer after two experiences with TALO…read more This is what I have learned to expect from them: They will be late. On the first move, they were 3 hours late because a driver had called in sick. That can happen, and I thought it forgivable. Two years later on the second move, they were 4 hours and 40 minutes late. Again "a driver called in sick". Apologies were offered on both occasions, but that did nothing to mitigate the exhaustion experience by this senior caused by a 9-hour moving day for a 550 square foot space. They will lose something. On the first move, vacuum cleaner attachments went missing. I didn't notice this until the next day so too late to report. On the second move, two woven baskets and a 3-foot silk plant went missing. This I noticed and reported within an hour of the team leaving but I received only repeated assurances of how important my concern was and how "Our top priority as your go-to home moving company is the protection and safety of your possessions". Nice words, no action. There will be damage to something. On the first move, it was minimal. The leg of a dresser was loosened and bent and the frame of a folding table was slightly bent. On the second move, there was damage to a leg on each of two recliners, a chip out of a wooden kitchen table, and slight damage to the finish of a TV stand. Again, I was far too tired to notice these things before the team left, so too bad for me. The team will be friendly and personable. Fairness demands that I report the good as well as the negative. Justin and Jason were both very pleasant to deal with and are good ambassadors for TALO. This is the first negative review I have ever posted in any circumstance but conscience dictates that I alert unsuspecting potential clients of the pitfalls that I met with on two separate encounters with Take A Load Off Moving Ltd.

Doesn't matter if they are experienced or brand new to moving, the replacements are the worst movers I've ever experienced. I've had numerous moves for over 50 years. The company appeared to be competent and well organized professionals but moving day was the worst ever. The "manager" threw the bosses plan out the window and did as he pleased. Many antiques were damaged. It took them 12 hours to load drive 5 minutes and unload. I could go on but I'd like to forget this experience. Just don't hire them on a long weekend.

    Absolutely the worst business, over e-mail they had quoted that our yard waste removal (for…read moreblackberry branches, tree branches, and weeds stacked in a pile where they could back there truck beside the waste) would take 2 hours using two people at $85/hour. Upon arriving to our house and working on the pile for 1.5 hours "let's move it" Mike contacted us and said the 2 hours may turn into 3 hours (as we had been asked to be updated on timeline), we were ok with this, however, needless to say they took 4.5 hours without letting us know, and the job wasn't even completely finished as there was still removal to be done! Then "let's move it" stated to me that they would still need another 30 minutes to an hour to finish up when I told them it was ridiculous how an originally quoted job at 2 hours had turned into 4.5 with another 30 minutes to an hour longer left (equalling 5+ hours!) I told them I would not be paying them for 4.5 hours and another 30 minutes to an hour for the remainder of the waste removal, to which Mike acted very shocked stating this is the first time someone had asked him to keep the owners of the house updated if the job continued to take longer than he had quoted. These "2 workers" are extremely slow, and Mike tried to blame it on the blackberry branches, stating when the homeowner cannot dispose of the waste that the branches will grow and weave between the other yard waste over time, yet I informed him that my wife and I had just piled the waste on Sunday of this week and he removed it Tuesday of that same week! As a result of this terrible company we ended up paying for 4 hours of yard waste removal (they knocked off a pathetic 30 minutes off the bill), and still have yard waste remaining because we didn't want to pay for another hour from this unrespectable company. I would never recommend this company to anyone, very unprofessional, and trying to grind home owners for every dollar. If I could score them 0 stars I would.

    After ULock recommended them to us, I spoke with Mike (owner) and booked a 5ton truck and three…read moreguys over a month in advance. The day of the move, Mike showed up in a 3ton truck pulling a small trailer unit behind it with one other guy in the truck. When I asked him where the 5ton truck was, his response was curt saying that this was equivalent and that he was there to work. No mention was made of where the third person was, or if anyone else was coming. After speaking to my wife about it, I went to talk to him about re-booking the appointment for when he would have a proper 5ton available with another guy as we had agreed upon. I got out "Mike this isn't going to work..." before he cut me off by saying "Look, you're already getting on my nerves, my third guy is coming as we speak." What?!? This within 5min of meeting the guy, and this is how he talks to his paying customers. Needless to say, we told him we wouldn't be needing his services. Rude, disrespectful, and confrontational are the three adjectives I would use to describe this individual, and would definitely not recommend to anyone.
