Your receptionist and Kristina were gracious enough to squeeze me in last minute as a walk-in. After showing her a picture of the vibe I was going for, she proceeded with precision and intention, using scissors masterfully where others would've used clippers, point cuts as opposed to shears, but most importantly made the minutes feel feel luxuriously longer, the styling bespoke, and cutated a creatively current cut for a happy man who upon leaving, looked ten years younger on his 50th birthday. 50 is the new 40, and Hawthorn has a new, grateful and loyal client. I finally found MY salon!!! ‍ Now, fair warning: I'm a little bit of a salon snob. (Okay, maybe more than a little ) But in my defense, I literally named my first daughter after my former stylist, so when I find "the one," I'm loyal for life. And for the record... she moved away first, so let's not throw around the word hypocrite Here's my personal salon checklist: Fun area where I can wander before/after A funky, welcoming vibe inside A stylist who knows their stuff and is super friendly AMAZING products And of course... FABULOUS results And guess what? This place checked EVERY. SINGLE. BOX. Shoutout to Zoey she absolutely nailed it! My hair looks incredible, I felt totally taken care of, and the whole experience was just FUN. Located in the Five Points area, so parking can be a hassle arriving early at busy times suggested!

I have been searching for a salon and stylist that truly cares about the health of your hair and who knows how to cut hair properly. Most salons CANNOT cut hair professionally even though they charge you for said "professional cut." Angela will give you an outstanding cut. I firmly believe that my hair grew faster and healthier because of it. My hair was so damaged, tangled and breaking off from hormones and stress. Angela was so sweet and extremely informative about hair health and products. She has a pleasant and gentle energy that transfers to how she handles the service that you're getting. She is honest and gives you all the information regarding your hair as well as how to take care of it "after" the appointment. Every single time I go to Angela my hair looks and feels so healthy, shiny and gorgeous. My scalp feels clean and my my hair has so much body. My style lasts for 7 to 10 days guaranteed when I use a silk bonnet and minimal product. Angela is the best!! She is a hair SAFE salon! :) I don't have a photo but I will update my review on my next visit!

She was very patient with my daughter. My daughter really liked her a lot to the point that when it was time for her to get her hair cut again, Jammie would be the first person she wants to go to.   You can find Jammie at Foiled Rotten Salon off Baymeadows Road, in Jacksonville. I highly recommend Jammie. She is definitely a "cut" above the rest =)   And for those curious minded, Jammie does not do my hair. I wash my hair with fresh berries, citrus and Aloe imported from Italy (that sounds good)...so my hair would be too delicate for Jammie's handling. I go to an institution called Great Clips. My stylist is from NYC and asked me specific questions about what kind of highlights I wanted, where I wanted them and whether I normally opted for toner. Still waiting to see the outcome. Slightly awkwardly waiting in the reception area while she juggles another client. Slightly disappointed at the lack of mindless magazines - No Self, Seventeen, Vogue or Glamour. Fortunately, there was Harpers Bazaar so I could catch up on Paris Hilton's latest. I did the face framing height lights - 8 foils but I think she gave me a few extra. Saved around $60 by skipping toner and a blow dry. Asked for thick highlights, and they looked a bit skinned but the stylist showed me how they were actually thick. She was right. She didn't show me my hair automatically at the end. I had to ask, but I did like what I saw.

Whether I'm in for a simple trim or a complete transformation including length and color, she makes sure I leave happy and with increased knowledge as to what products she recommends and how to style and keep my locks healthy and looking fabulous. It's always been a challenge to maintain my hair as it's so easy to whip out the old faithful bun routine, but with her help I now love getting into her chair and have had fun experimenting with different hairstyles and techniques utilizing her guidance and expertise. I've recommended her to my friends and family, and those who have taken my word left the salon more than satisfied with the results. As long as Ashley remains in Jax, I shall be her faithful client!
