But now, in reflection these questions were unfounded. BMR is a GREAT experience and fantastic way to get close to the majestic outdoors of Colorado. Most of all a week of understanding and playing the role of a cowboy...priceless. The crew of wranglers takes care to make sure you have a great time, the entire kitchen/dining staff provides all the awesome food for the week, housekeeping is on the spot and above all the service levels provided to guests is 100% focused and quality. The entire camp got to know each other and EVERYBODY HAD A UNBELIEVABLE TIME. Bryce thanks to you Ryan and Amy for your hospitality and providing such a great team: Grace, Patrick, Kate, Ben, Matt, Brielle, Will, Maggie, Shelby and all others who I might have unintentionally missed...you were all great. Carla and I continue too to talk/rave about our experience at BMR and show all our pictures to our neighbors and now look to determining our next visit to BMR. Thanks for the wonderful experience, quality and true value. Please accept our wishes to contoured success. If you/anyone needs a reference for BMR..send the my way! Family-owned and operated, with wonderful horses and staff and a variety of activities, BMR goes above and beyond. My friend and I visited again this past week, for the 3rd time over the last several years. And we will certainly return! The scenery is gorgeous and the guest cabins are beautiful, clean, well kept and rustic. The food is delicious--3 excellent meals served each day. They can accomodate various levels of riders and safety is first. The attention to detail and the kindness of the May family as well as their staff, clearly makes this a wonderful experience. We feel very fortunate to have found BMR! Robin L.

As I was driving through town, I saw Double J's signs for "pick your own peaches." I followed the signs a very short distance from the main part of town which included some well maintained gravel/dirt roads. My old '97 sedan was just fine.;) At the orchard I was greeted by the owner, Jamie Jacobson who was such a genuinely nice man. He's very kind and personable. I got a handful of peaches and yes, they were THE BEST peaches I've ever had!! So incredibly sweet and juicy that one bite had juice rolling down the sides of my mouth. I shared some with some fellow travelers and they agreed that they were Exceptional. You've got to try THESE peaches!! I heard Palisade peaches were good and bought those as well but these were much better. I even bought peaches that came from Hotchkiss (a nearby town) and also from the Paonia market. Double J's peaches were still wayyy better!! There's a big difference between eating store ripened fruit versus tree-ripe fruit like at Jamie's orchard. I highly recommend Jamie's tree-ripe fruit!! The whole experience and interaction w Jamie was positive and now I plan to get peaches from Double J Orchards whenever I'm in the area. It's one of those things that are so good that you dream about going back for more.:)

I emailed a few times and called and each time I had prompt responses with courteous service and that is big when planning logistics of a trip. The places is family owned and each person that works there shows care for the Ranch, their role there and pride in what they do. The whole family feel made it feel like we were family. We stayed in a "Cabin" which was cozy and lovely for 4 nights. It had a super comfy bed (love the sheets!), fridge and they even accommodated us with a microwave for our personal needs. The best touch was the wood burning stove and we lit fires 3 of the nights even in July which was such a nice touch. They provide everything you need for a fire. The meals were all included and were divine! From the salmon, to the grass fed steak (my fav!) to the unique desserts (chocolate lava cake anyone?) we ate like Kings! It's family style dining as far as you are sitting at tables with other ranch goers which made for lovely conversation. One breakfast was out remote from the kitchen/dining area and we ate on a cliff overlooking sunrise. Pretty special! The views are to die for. From every angle. We even did a 2 mile hike (round trip) to see a waterfall that was remarkable! Tons of wild flowers in every direction. While we did not ride horses, we did enjoy the grounds with sunrises and coffee, the pool over looking the horses and the hot tub! Humming birds whirl Around you all the time and you get tons of pics with chickens and ducks. One of our favorite nights was listening to an acoustic guitar with Cowgirl music played by Caitlyn in front of the lake at sunset!!! Don't hesitate to make this experience happen whether you have a family reunion, honeymoon, vacation or just something new. Lisa, Randy, Patty, Amanda, Spencer and all will help you have the time of your life!
