Junior's Car Hand Car Wash is not much to look at. It's small and tucked away behind the City Gas station on Huntington Turnpike. It is a ramshackle operation to look at but the work ethic is extraordinary.
There are 3 stations that your car goes through. First the interior is cleaned and vacuumed. The floor mats are removed and cleaned. Next, the car is rinsed and power washed by a human who washes off every bit of dirt and grime. Finally, the car is driven outside the washing area and the detail man goes over it with a chamois. He touches every surface. He even opens the doors and cleans the door jambs. He cleans the inside of the windows, too.
As a finishing touch, the car tires are sprayed with tire cleaner and conditioner.
I've never seen such attention to detail at a car wash. The work of the employees more than makes up for the cheap appearance of the business.
I do have one complaint: I was charged $30 instead of $25 because they said my car was a "crossover " vehicle. That's bullshit. It's a hatchback, which doesn't make it a crossover of any kind. Really irked me and I complained several times about it.
Bottom line is this: Junior's is not cheap but it's very good. read more
