Food-wise, the menu is quite big with lots on offer. The vibe is most Chinese but there's a few Japanese and Thai accents too. The dim sum is made in-house and it shows! Lovely and tasty. The salt and pepper ribs were of a good portion but not in a batter as I expected. Still tasty though and the meat fell off the bone. The prawn paper rolls were tiny and not value for money. Mains were all good: half a roast duck with good crispy skin, a bed of Chinese leaf and separate sauce. Sizzling seafood plate was tasty if small for the price. The garlic chicken was lovely and a good portion size of battered chicken fillets served with a thin garlic sauce and a spring onion and ginger garnish. Portions of rice were much bigger than expected which was a huge plus. For dessert, we all had toffee banana fritter, 3 small chunks of banana in a crunchy caramel coating sprinkled with sesame seeds which were very nice. An extra piece of banana would have been nice but the presentation of this and all the dishes, infact, was good. In terms of service, I thought all the staff were friendly and quietly polite. There was a small mix-up with one of our dishes but the manager kindly and quickly changed it with no fuss and kept us informed of its whereabouts. Aside from one or two small dishes, overall I really enjoyed my evening here. It seems to be a reliable restaurant with good flavours and tasty home-made dim sum! I took a look at their daytime dim sum menu and it looks good! I will definitely be back for more solid Chinese food and dim sum one day!

The hostess was kind about it, but really not worth questioning us about our intent. They probably asked because we asked for water after they did not have the beverage of our choice. We had been walking down the street when we made the decision to eat. So we did not start off on comfortable footing. My suggestion, lessen the "rules" and practice saying yes. We were the only ones seated the entire time from 6-7pm, maybe others have had similar experiences here. I would give it another try though.

What to expect: good quality chinese take away / delivery. The food tends to be a bit less oily than your usual chinese take aways, and they do take care with the preparation and packaging. The order is usually delivered sealed. I can recommend the crispy shredded beef and egg fried rice. I usually pair this up with a veg dish containing some sauce as the beef is served dry. Always on time, I am holding back on 4 stars as it is a tad on the expensive side.

This is not a complaint about the food. The company have a handy timer on their website to show when to show estimated time of delivery. With 15 minutes before the delivery time, we sat at the end of the garden talking about our day. I heard a knock, but by the time we got to the door the delivery man was getting back on to his moped. The conversation highlights are as follows: * "I called you. Why didn't you answer the door?" * "I called you twice and knocked on the door. Where were you?" * "But I have been ringing and knocking on the door? Where were you?" We apologised but explained he was 15-minutes early and we did not have the phone in the garden. * "I'm busy. It's Friday. Where were you?" * We took food paid with cash and gave a tip to the driver * He continued to be aggressive and unpleasant, shouted at my husband and he threw tip at us. We called Tasty Garden to explain what had happened. The man who answered the phone said the delivery man was busy as it was a Friday night, the timer is only an estimate and we were wrong to rely on it as a delivery time and what did we want him to do about it. When I said an apology would be the first step, he said sorry, he would speak to the delivery man but there was nothing he could do about it. I asked to speak to the manager, and he claimed to be the manager and he hung up. The food was good, but we would not recommend delivery unless you want to be abused on your doorstep and have your tip thrown back at you.
