    Potato corn dog
    Rebecca H.

I was craving Korean street food so I stopped by here. The fried chicken was delicious. It was super crispy and juicy. The potato corn dog was also delicious. The mozzarella and hot dog inside was a great combo. The spicy rice cake wasn't as good though. It didn't taste fresh. The place has a casual vibe and the service was good.

I stopped in try Junie's the other day. The store was clean. K-Pop on tvs. Staff greeted me upon entry. They have a lot of different options from corn dogs, to sandwiches, to seafood bags. I went with the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. The breast is huge. I got medium spice but it was a bit spicy for me. The breast was fried and spicy. The coleslaw and spicy mayo helped pull the sandwich together. This sandwiche is huge. I did not really need fries, but they were good as well. I will definitely visit again.

I had a taste for a Korean corn dog and we set out looking for some. We came upon Junies which used to be named Kong Dog (it's still listed as Kong Dog in some business listings). It's located in a shopping center with lots of parking. They had all the Korean corn dog options that we were looking for plus some. I went for the standard Potato and our girls (10 & 12) got the Hot Cheetos. The dogs were really good. Only feedback was that, the girls wished that the Cheeto dust was all around the corn dog vs. just being on top. They make them fresh so there is about a 10-15 minute wait. The staff was really friendly. They have a lot of other items in addition to Korean corn dogs. We got some of the fried chicken with and got the BBQ and the Ginger Soy sauce on the side (just in case we did not like the flavors). We are glad we did as we did not care for the flavors but the chicken alone was good.

I think Kong Dog has now become Junie's. At any rate, I stop in for a quick lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Service was friendly and the inside of the restaurant was clean with amply seating for dining in or waiting for takeout. The menu is really diverse and features items such as k-dogs, Korean wings, tenders, chicken burgers, and bubble teas. Everything seemed made-to-order because I and others had a 10-12 minute wait for our food. I ordered the Junior Chicken Burger which is essentially a battered and fried chicken breast with slaw, Junie's signature sauce, and pickles on a brioche bun. The sandwich was flavorful, but I would have expected the bun to chicken ratio to be a bit better. The advertised photo has a long jumbo filet, much bigger bun. I knew that wasn't the size I ordered, but I hope my patty would have been at least the full size of the bun, which wasn't the case. I'll be back to try then Korean wings and the beverages.

My favorite - Sweet Potato corn dog.

The predominant flavor of the kimchi jjigage was gochugaru. The haemul pajeon didn't have much seafood and came with several burnt spots. The japchae was extremely oily and included very few vegetables. I make better Korean food at home just by watching Maangchi videos. Speaking of videos, the only reason I found this place was through a TikTok, which offered a rave review and showed a packed restaurant. I guess this is how I know FoodTok has officially reached the mainstream, because I'm seeing more and more staged scenarios and dubious opinions. The only thing anybody had anything positive to say about was the rice, which was technically perfect. There is an old adage that goes, "you can judge a restaurant based on how well they cook their rice." But if you have a table full of food and the only thing people want to finish is the rice, then you've got a whole other problem.

I ordered a tofu soup with miso base and a kimchi pancake for the table. The pajeon was so appetizing I may have forgotten to take a picture before we dug in, and the tofu soup was just very warming. I didn't want anything spicy or I would've gotten a jjigae. You'll notice if you come here that this place is frequented by local Koreans, which tells you this is a good spot haha

Boo-hoo, look around and you'll find a spot unless you're driving a yacht. Now, to the setting and the food...the setting is the way I like it. Rustic, clean, unassuming, not fancied up. Wooden privacy screens are set in between tables. (Perhaps because of Covid? Not sure.) This to me was really comfortable, didn't feel like I was stuck in a cattle car. I'm sure there's Korean BBQ here but we weren't at such a table. In fact it looked like grills had been removed from some tables and replaced with wooden covers. So nice to have that extra space because... Ordered bibimbap, bulgogi, steamed dumplings, etc. The extra side dishes I enjoy (kimchi, sprouts, etc.) were there as well. Ice tea, yadda yadda. Korean music was playing but it wasn't loud, on another screen by the kitchen I could see Family Guy. Again, not loud or intrusive. Didn't feel like they skimped on portions, there was plenty. Almost too much, wasn't sure I'd manage to finish the bulgogi but I did...mmm. Overall, this place is a nice break from other places. If you want to take someone out and just enjoy yourselves, this would be it. Perhaps a bit different when full, but still. Btw, it's been 13 years since I first went here. This week was only the second time. I totally forgot where it was or whether it was still around. So glad it is.

The Noodle with Pork & Black Bean Sauce and Noodle with Veg & Beef Spicy Seafood Soup are my top favorites noodle dishes here. We also got the Fried Dumplings, which were just okay. In the door the place was clean and well lit. Our server was attentive to us in the very beginning b I t did decline. Menu choices to me were a little odd to include everything is ala carte, you dont even get rice with a meal. We were a party of 8 so we all ordered something different. For me the food lacked flavor and the fried beef was like eatting beef Jerry. We had some children with us who dont eat with chop sticks and getting regular utensils seemed difficult. Our server filled our waters in the beginning but that was it, after that finding her for anything was not happening. Finally, they attached a automatic gratuity which i have an issue with, I am a great tipper but if service sucks then it should be my decision on how much to tip.

The restaurant itself is notably clean and well-ventilated, which is a plus for a table-side Korean BBQ experience. THE FOOD We ordered the Chadol Premium Combo, which featured five delicious cuts of Angus beef accompanied by a bowl of soybean soup, fresh lettuce leaves, large pink pickled daikon slices, and three standard dipping sauces. We also added a salad and the cheese corn to round out the meal. Overall, the meat quality was excellent. * Unmarinated Short Rib: Simple, high-quality, and quite tasty. * Boneless Ribeye: Prepared with rosemary and butter, making it an incredibly rich and flavorful bite. * Marinated Boneless Short Rib: Prepared with sesame and garlic. Because this cut is closer to the bone, it was flavorful and tender. As a bonus, the fried garlic left at the bottom of the pan after cooking was absolutely delicious. * Marinated Galbi Short Rib: Very tender and surprisingly flavorful without leaning too sweet, which was a great balance. * Pickled Chayote: Made with chopped onions and jalapeños. This side was refreshing and flavorful, serving as palate cleanser between rich bites of beef. THE SERVICE * Our server, Kaitlyn, took a no-nonsense, efficient approach to our meal. She helped start the grilling process and dropped by periodically to fire up the next batch of meats and refill our banchan and water. Tip: You have the option to cook everything yourself, but if you want assistance, simply flip the table sign to request help with the grill. OVERALL A clean environment for high-quality Korean BBQ with solid, efficient service and excellent cuts of meat.
