Hearing about torture, blood, and guts at the Amsterdam Dungeon might make you hungry. What better place than across the street upon exiting from the gift shop than this quaint little place?
The spicy burger was pretty good. The guy working didn't ask me how I liked my burger so it was mid-rare by default, on the rarer side. I gather that's the norm in Amsterdam. There is no grill, so I believe that burgers are cooked in the George Forman (panini) machine. The frites were pretty decent. I won't say the meal steered me particularly in one way or the other, but I left satisfied.
The only thing was, there was just one employee who didn't seem particularly enthusiastic about being there. He was sitting with a coffee drink and on his phone, barely acknowledging customers when they entered. He was nice enough, but nonplussed. read more
