Love this burger restaurant. It is located in the city near the train station. The atmosphere is great and casual, the services are nice and friendly. Burgers are great with fresh ingredients and tons of sauce. The bread is good and not too soft, patties are also tasty and not over cooked. Highlight : Friendly service Good prawn burger Interesting menu Stylish interior design Good drinks Not so pricy Good vibe

Amazing Wagyu Beef Burger! Cold Pilsner on tap and attentive service. I'd go again. Nice area in quieter section of Maastricht.

My hubby got the burger sampler and said the pulled pork burger was probably the best he ever had!

However, I would not call this place as typical Portuguese food restaurant. It is as eclectic as fun is the name (a mosquito that can be found in the part of the river). The red hair tattooed owner was super friendly answering all my questions concerning the pictures in the walls. I was curious to see if they were real ancestors or she just got those photos online to create faux family ambiance. It happens that they were real family, now overseeing what we eat from those black and white shots! This restaurant is very relaxing and calm, you can have a conversation and enjoy the food. Another thing is when you go to the bathroom and you clash with those eyes protruding the walls!!! they look so authentic. It was funscary! Food: my seafood plate was super delicious, nothing to complain about. The tomato based broth was really good. My colleague was not as happy with his meat as was more done than expected. We shared a creme brulee that was awesome too. It was a bummer that the bacalhau dish was not available. That is what I went for initially but i dont regret choosing that restaurant versus more typical Belgian options around.

The staff suggested the miss sunshine burger over the basic one. I will let you know in a review…read morehow it was.... So as promised: The burger I ordered was alright. Unlike from what I heard from others who ordered the same dish, my burger was not dry. I liked that it had pickles, salad and mayo. It was quite hearty, so I did not finish the fries which came with it. The fries were actually good, but I just couldn't finish them. The place seems to be good for groups, when it comes to space, but not when it comes to execution. The staff was very friendly (I needed my iPhone charged), and it was rather easy to grab their attention when we wanted to order more drinks. What I did not like, however, is that the food did not come out at the same time. Not even remotely. Not even for two neighboring tables (so that would be about 16 people). While one table had already finished their food, many others were still waiting for it to arrive. Moreover, we also waited for about 10-15 minutes before we stated eating, since not everyone's food had arrived yet. As for the appetizer - the fried calamari and onion rings were nothing special. Like at all. The spring rolls were nice. Dessert - I had the chocolate fudge cake. I thought it tasted quite nice. It was moist and chocolatey. However, it was way too heavy. Since we still had a party planned for the evening, I did not finish the dessert, as I did not want to burst or fall into a very deep food coma.

If you want to have a full meal, you go elsewhere. Located at the ezelmarkt is an old white building, with loungy interior.. Lots of pillows and stuff.. It's great for having drinks with a big group. The staff are mostly exchange students so the going language for ordering drinks is English. Again, you won't find cheaper cocktails elsewhere in Maastricht. Good concept.. Other places dare to charge up to 10€ for a mojito, shame on them!
