I wanted an easy dinner for my last night in Europe and found it at De Burger. I chose them because they were open and did not have a wait for a table. So it's a delicious burger with fries for dinner! The special was the "Raclette Burger" and it was a 165 gram (1/3 pound) bacon cheeseburger with cheese that had been melted under the grill. Add lettuce and tomato and onion. With it, thick cut fries and mayo. A delicious meal and with a very cold beer. It was exactly what the doctor ordered and I enjoyed it. We had a terrible experience at this restaurant yesterday. As usual, when we're in Eindhoven, we went for a burger to this place (this time before a concert). Fortunately, there was a table for the 4 of us, including my mother, who is almost 75 years old and not very fit. Suddenly, a waiter came and told us that we had to leave the table and wait for the next free table, because they needed the table for a group of 5, interestingly they arrived after us. When I said that I don't understand, why we should leave the table, he went away and another waiter came and told us in a very unfriendly and intimidating way, that we should have asked before we sat down. I told him that we frequently come to this place and that there was never an issue of being seated by the staff. He replied that MY behaviour was impolite and that he wanted us to clear the table as this was currently the only table available for 5 people. I told him that just because the other group had 1 person more, is no reason for us to leave the table. Also, I tried to explain that we didn't have much time to wait for the next free table as we had tickets for a concert starting in an hour and that my mother is not in a physical state to wait.Then he repeated that I was very impolite and on top of that one guy of the other group came to the table and started yelling, telling me how outrageously impolite I was. I was shocked by the behaviour of 3 white male trying to intimidate a migrant woman just because they thought it's their privilege to do so. Of course we didn't give in, as we are unfortunately used to being treated this way. Where I come from, guests and especially elderly people are not treated in such a disrespectful way. And what a shame that white privileged men still think they can treat people as it suits them, even though it's absolutely unfair. Eventually, we left as we do not want to support such people and such hostile behaviour with our money. And we definitely won't come back! read more

Food quality: burguers are delicious and you have a big sort of them. Most of them are original and the taste is simply great. French fries "puntzak" type are accompanied with sauce which are also tasty. Place: very small and normally very crowded. It's well located just next to the stratum (the street with more pubs in Eindhoven) and also just in the center of the city. Service: it's not the best. Often they are very slow, especially when you want to order. Some waiters are sometimes stressed and not nice, but you go to this place just for the burguer, right? Price: the price is higher than average, but also the quality is more than average. So, I don't care to pay a little bit more for a very good burguer. French fries are ordered separately, so you pay extra for them. read more

It seems like most bistros and cafes have a burger, yet there are very few burger places in Eindhoven. De Burger, as the name suggests, specializes in burgers and there are some very tasty and creative varieties here. While they have options for vegetarian (portobello), chicken, and lamb, we stuck to beef, and we were not disappointed. The Truffle Burger was a nice option, with truffle flavored chips which not only added flavor but gave it a nice texture. This was a disaster place! I have already heard bad about the serving but decided to try this place anyway. MISTAKE. First we were have to wait a waitress for a long time. Also waited a very long time before we got our dishes but the best thing was that we were have to ask her bring forks and knives "yeah, sure.." was the answer. We found fries not enough salty and we were have to ask that one also... Flavours was good! I ordered truffle burger and I think it had a nice favours BUT it was cold, bread was dry and avocado was brown.. The best part was when my friend realised her burger was black from the bottom. It looked weird and mine was also. Burgers were served on a metal board and printed paper under the burger. That black stuff was INK from the paper!! It was so nasty. I mentioned about it but waitress answered back "I don't know what it is but it doesn't hurt you." Wtf... Of course it might not but it is freaking nasty! Had a good one. Were lucky to get a table at the time. Crowded up pretty fast. Long wait for our order to get taken. Chairs were weird. You'll know how when you sit on one and the support of the chair flips. I'd advice sitting on a bench. The newspapers they serve the burgers on are a quirky idea but I think it's pretty dirty. Price of beer OK. Pretty great value. It's like Burger King with better ingredients but at the same price. Taste was good, wouldn't say delicious, but good enough to probably go back. read more

Very popular spot on the church square even during our Thursday evening visit. Service was attentive if a bit cold. Food was disappointing -- grisly beef burger and bland cassava veg burger. This is the best place to get a burger in the city. All the usuals plus some interesting twists, such as the wasabi mayonnaise. The food is so good I would give it 5 stars, but the service is pretty poor and it tends to get very loud inside. It's still one of my 'go to' places in Eindhoven though! read more
