You see on TV shows that the best restaurants are the ones with the simplest menus. Makes it easy for the customers to choose, easy for the chefs to prepare, and easy for the restaurant to perfect.
They basically have five main dishes to choose from (chicken, burger, ribs, chicken satay, and combination plate consisting of chicken, ribs, and sausage). They also have some sides which looked amazing, but we didn't get any because we ordered the combination platter and it was a super huge portion of amazingly juicy meat.
You can really taste the barbecue smoke in the chicken from the way it's carefully cooked. Best BBQ in town hands down. If you're there with friends, make sure to get the combination platter. The portions are made for sharing.
We topped the evening off with the only dessert on their menu: the most mouthwatering homemade cheesecake ever (apparently it's a super secret recipe).
The homemade sauces were also amazing. We got to try the following (it all comes with the chicken, rib, sausage combo meal):
- My favorite: The red onion chutney sauce with onions, rosemary, red wine vinegar, honey. This one was sweet and made the sausage heavenly.
- Mayonnaise has a slimmer of lemon and garlic.
- Ketchup is made with real Dutch tomatoes.
- Piri piri sauce is spicy, made with Madame Jeanette peppers and is great dipped with the mayonnaise. This paired amazingly well with the sweet flavor of the ribs.
- Mustard sauce was made with mustard seed and Indian curry spices. This tasted like no other mustard sauce I've ever had. I don't usually like mustard but this one was surprisingly high quality.
