Junction is a newly opened café located within Queen's University Belfast, housed within the School of Law (Peter Froggatt Centre (PFC)). It primarily caters to staff and students of the University but anyone can call in and use it.
So far I've been impressed with the range of salads and sandwiches on offer from Junction. They sell pre-packed items and also have a sandwich counter if you fancy something bespoke and freshly-made.
The Vegan Superclean Quinoa Salad Box is an item I've tried a couple of times now which I think is lovely and filling, being packed full of sundried tomatoes, peas, seeds, parsley, cucumber and quinoa.
Service is quick and staff are pleasant plus there are lots of tables and some comfortable sofas to sit in. Though this is a cafe which can be very, very busy at peak times, such as over lunch or in the morning with people craving a wake-me-up caffeine fix.
To date I've only tried an Americano and the coffee is fine, not amazing, but okay for college-cafe standards. A huge bonus is that Junction offer both soy and almond milk therefore I plan to try a dairy-free latte soon.
Overall pretty much A-Okay. Probably a good 3 stars in my opinion. However I'll award Junction a total of 4 stars, with the extra star being purely for their good Vegan and Vegetarian options, which are still so difficult to find in most cafés. read more
