A receptionist (a white female in her late 20s, ~5'10", ~210 lbs, short hair, big square black prescription glasses) directed me to sign in at the corner iPad station. After I entered my name and my mom's DOB, the screen immediately reset for the next customer, so I assumed check-in was complete. We sat waiting in the lobby just 6 feet away from the front desk. We sat there for 55 minutes without anyone calling us or checking in. Finally, the receptionist called my mom's name--only to rudely tell us we were late and had to reschedule. When I pointed out that we arrived at 1:48 PM and had been sitting right in front of her for an hour, she shifted excuses and claimed the doctor had a morning emergency (which no one called to inform us about prior to our hour drive). She then went back to "check with the doctor"--leaving us waiting another 15 to 20 minutes--and returned to repeat that we must reschedule, dismissively claiming she had been "in a meeting" while we sat there. To make matters worse, a second staff member/manager (a Black female on the far right, ~40-45 years old, ~5'5"-5'6", short hair) aggressively interjected when I tried to warn another male patient having the exact same sign-in issue with the glitchy iPad. When I told them their customer service was unacceptable and chose to leave without rescheduling, the tall receptionist stood directly over me while I was seated, staring at me aggressively and refusing to move out of my physical space so I could safely exit with my elderly mother. Leaving an 87-year-old patient sitting for over an hour, changing excuses, failing to communicate delays, and physically posturing over us as we tried to leave is completely unacceptable behavior for a medical practice.

As promised, here is an update for the George Mason Circle office…read more It is located next to the Hylton Center. There are no signs for it, so follow the signs for the Hylton Center and you will see the big Novant sign on the left side of the street. It is part of a brand new strip of store fronts. Parking is right in front of the door. It looks like there are 2 physicians staffed there at all times. They can also do lab work in that office, too. It's brand new, you can still smell the fresh paint. Because it's small, there are only about 4 patients at any given time. I had the first appointment of the day there (they start at 9am), and there were 2 other people waiting to be seen. A refreshing change from the main office, which is incredibly busy. I highly recommend booking at this office if you can.

Scratched underneath her shirt and pants and then put her hands on me to take my vitals without washing them first. Laughed in my face after answering simple questions. The NP who took care of me afterwards was incredibly caring, but this attendant is a walking health hazard and disregards basic respect to patients. Unfortunately, she was a stain on what would have otherwise been a professional and comfortable visit.
