Quaint little shop, right across the road from the winery and antique shop. My bride and I strolled in, browsed about, tried some samples and left empty handed - not because we didn't want to buy anything, but more or less because we were in a hurry to get back on the road. There is a huge selection of coffes and teas as well as other little peripherals to go with them. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot of room to move around if there's a good deal of foot traffic here, so keep in mind, if you have that phobia of being stuck in a crowd, you might be better off ordering online. After stopping by the Mill next door we all commented on how we wish this location was open (someone in our group mentioned that every other time she's been through Helen this shop has been closed around 3pm and she could never make it to this side of town in time) As we made to cross the street to get in our cars we happened to notice a couple walking out of the front doors with a bag of coffee. "What? Are they open? Abort the street crossing!" Apparently they recently changed the open hours to 10-5, allowing more customers a chance to try their delicious tea! (and I've heard from a reputable source, a friend of mine, that their coffee is delicious as well) I tried the Earl Grey tea and it was good! I got it after smelling the one my friend bought and was drinking as we sat on the nice covered porch along the side. I got to have a really nice interaction with the lady working in the shop, she has a lot of hopes for the shop as time progresses and I can't to see what new things have happened the next time that I come back! This place is right off the highway and is a must see! You can't go wrong with locally roasted coffee and friendly workers who are personally invested in answering questions and making sure you are satisfied. Upon entering, we were greeted with samples of hazelnut coffee and given a description. They have an assortment of coffee, tea, and machines that brew both. As a coffee snob, I was looking for a good coffee shop to bring back home bags of coffee. I was super disappointed. I have used their coffee beans multiple times adding more and more grinds just to get a flavor out of it. There is literally no flavor in the coffee... it's just murky water...Also the people at the shop were very rude. Honestly if their coffee was good I wouldn't even care that they were rude, but their coffee is no where good enough to treat there customers rudely.... I was a bit awestruck. From the peaceful country cottage feel to the interior décor, the café brings hope in knowing that someone knew what they were doing when they opened this place. This was a great stop on our way from Asheville to Knoxville. I was surprised they had such great coffee in K-cup form because that is what my dad has been using more recently. I LOVE coffee, really just ask anyone who knows me and they will tell that while you might find others walking around in the middle of the day in the middle of summer here in Georgia, with a soda or the age old iced tea, nine times out of ten, I'll be drinking coffee. I not only love coffee, I know great coffee when I taste it and I have had some very top notch cups of coffee in my day. As an avid coffee lover, I was excited about an afternoon cup of joe. My mother and I stopped in at 4 p.m. and they were scheduled to close at 5. The smell was captivating, making my taste buds dance in excitement. The lady at the counter never once acknowledged us while we looked in the store. We finally stood at the counter trying to figure out how to order our coffee. The lady finally acknowledged us by rudely stating that she didn't have anymore coffee and wasn't making anymore since they were about to close. The sad thing is, they lost our business. Went on a weekend retreat with my sorority this weekend and decided to spontaneously stop at this little shop on the way back from Helen, GA, and it turned out to be an AWESOME decision. The place itself is adorable, nestled into the curving roads that are so common to the mountains. When we walked in, we were greeted by the smell of fresh coffee grinds, and the two ladies working there were SO NICE. Me and a few of my sisters ended up talking to them for a good 15-30 minutes! They gave us a free same of their frappuccino like, blended coffee drink and it was SO good. It is a very small shop with neat products. Very expensive, but I have to say it is the BEST coffee you will find. Even tho it is expensive, we still get some now and then. Very clean, crisp, satisfying coffee, have had different kinds. This is a coffee place for extreme coffee lovers. They serve samples of their house blend, which is always a nice pick-me-up. Friendly lady too. While you are there you just have to go to Nora's Mill next door! One of my favorite places. Parking isn't great here, but worth it. A good day would be to park across the street at Habersham's winery, and go in for their wonderful taste testing, check out the HUGE antique store next to it, and then go across street to Nora's and Jumping goat-- don't forget to check out the river behind it, very beautiful. read more
