I brought my machine to Jump+ at the Stone Road Mall in Guelph, Ontario in order to buy a new machine and have the information transferred over and they were terrific. Every question was answered in a flash with friendliness and professionalism and they were more than able to guide me through the process despite the fact that computer hardware isn't something I'm too knowledgeable about. I just received AMAZING service today from Natasha, and the tech Alex at the Guelph location. My phone was frozen on the Apple symbol, and thought I would have to lose all my data. I emailed about my problem, and Natasha was extremely helpful. I brought my phone in, and they were able to fix the problem and restore my phone without losing all of my photos, videos, etc. LIFESAVER! I bought an iPad mini the day before yesterday at the Guelph location. I was told the iPad mini would do absolutely every thing my iPhone does except make phone calls and the next day it turns out it will not send text messages to non apple phones like my iPhone does. The manager Natasha and the assistant manager James will not take it back, they would not even take it back when I offered to pay a restocking fee, then I offered to pay a restocking fee and they could keep the remaining money on file for future use and they would not even do that. The store holds the consumer 100% responsible for the purchase even if their staff make a small mistake. Do your self a huge favour as a Guelph reisident and make the 30 minute drive the Conestoga Apple location. If you by it directly from Apple items can be returned without question and you can avoid accidentally getting stuck with a product or being held responsible for the staffs training errors. read more

Having dealt with a variety of computer hardware retailers over the course of my career, I believe my dealings with Jump+ have easily the most frustrating. My mother-in-law brought in her MacBook Pro to have the laptop drive looked at and they explained that it was a mechanical issue with the hard drive and it required replacing. She agrees to have the hard drive replaced and upon receiving the final bill, she is startled by the final amount but reluctantly pays as she has no background in computer hardware and wouldn't know what to ask. She asked me to take a look at the invoice and it appeared that she had been double charged for the diagnostic fee and the actual cost of the hard drive was marked up by a consideratble amount (over 50%). So I decided to call the store and had the "privilege" of speaking with the manager. I asked about the double charge and he explained that the invoices for service were only ever appended to and that the previously payments wouldn't show up on current invoices. So my mother-in-law wasn't actually charged a second time for the diagnostic, but because of the lack of clarity in the invoice, it's was easy to get confused. Then we get to the price of the hard drive itself. The exact model was a 2.5" WD Scorpio Blue 500GB SATA 5400RPM drive. Looking up the item on a variety of online source would yield an average price of $90. When I questioned the manager on the cost and why the mark up was so high, he decided the best way to answer it would be to lecture me on the differences between retail and outlet stores and that any price that I would find online would not be valid. This conversation went on for several minutes as I tried to explain that even a handful of local retail stores had the item at a similar price at which point he demanded that I provide proof. I finally tired of this manager's treatment and suggested that we agree to disagree. I indicated that I would not be recommending his store's service to anyone as the prices are obviously heavily marked up and, at this point, he decided the best practice would be to insult me. He accused me of not listening to anything he had said and when I asked him specifically what he wanted me to understand, he avoided the question and continue berating me. At that point I hung up. TLDR: Manager has zero respect/patience/understanding for the customer; hardware purchased through the store was marked up by over 50%. read more

Do not get your apple devices repaired at this location. After having a repair done of my computer, the technician(s) did not properly reinstall the RAM. I had to return the computer to them, and after several days received it back with a broken microphone. After having an unrelated problem fixed by a real Apple technician, I was told never to take the computer back to the store that had worked on it previous (Jump +). The Apple technician was shocked at the state of my computer. Jump + refused to do anything to rectify this situation, and I had to again contact Apple and have them fix the problems which Jump + had caused. read more

Do not book your apple service here. I booked my appointment online through Apple as they are the only premium vendor in Guelph. I took my iPhone in to get the battery replaced. After getting all my info and running a diagnostic, the sales associate inspected the phone several times as if looking for any possible reason to not fix my phone. He inspected it carefully several times. This is key to remember. He could see no reason it would be a problem but thought he would just be sure with the Technican in the back. About 5 minutes later, he came back out and pointed to a weird bend in the bezel beside the volume down button. This was not there before and during his careful inspection he surely would have seen that. The bezel was bent out. The only way this would have happened is to be pried by an external force. He then informed me they could not work on the phone and suggested I go to Apple as they had better tools??? Also that the bend was right where the screen connected to the board so the tech was sure he couldn't work on it. So they damaged my phone , didn't do the work and then sent me away. I had an extremely bad experience with the Jump + staff and services. I was promised certain prices over the phone when getting my Mac laptop fixed and upon arrival was denied those prices. It took months for them to figure out what was wrong with my laptop after diagnosing things incorrectly repeatedly. The charges were outrageous and didn't fix any of the problems as my laptop is still broken. I am extremely unimpressed and would not recommend this store to anyone and will definitely not be returning. read more

Bought an iMac and Airport Time Capsule from this store. Kofi the sales associate was extremely helpful and was honest with us about what kind of computer would work for us given our needs. He didn't try to upsell us and even offered reasonably priced alternatives to the computers we were looking at. The manager Michael also price matched my computer when I found it cheaper the next day. I will definitely shop there again and highly recommend them. read more

I had an absolutely horrible experience with the services provided at this store. I brought my laptop in to get fixed over the summer and paid $500 to have a part replaced/installed. Within two months I was having the same issue again, so I brought it back - I was told that they would get back to me within 5-7 business days. 9 business days passed when I eventually went into the store to ask about my device, and they said that I would receive a call later that day. I did receive a call that evening and was told that this time the issue was with the software on the device, and that the computer needed to be wiped entirely and have new software installed. I was told that since I had been waiting a long time and I had already brought it in previously, they would waive the fee. I was happy with that, until I went in the following day to pick up the computer and was charged a $60 diagnostics fee, even though I was told that the fees would be waived. This is either clear miscommunication or insincerity and it is completely unacceptable. To top it all off, within two hours of arriving at home and using my device, I was having the exact same issue that I had spent $600 within the past three months to get fixed. I am completely outraged and appalled at the service that I have received and would not recommend this store to anyone, nor would I return ever again. read more

Went into the store after I received great service there last year, for an iphone 6 screen protector and was told by an employee playing on their phone, hiding in the corner, not speaking with any guests, that they have never sold a matte screen protector despite me purchasing one from there on my last visit. Disappointed that I wasn't greeted upon entry, I had to ask the associate for assistance and was told that I would never have purchased the above item from them, despite having done so when I purchased an iphone 5. Upon leaving we did have a woman approach us asking if we needed help which was a redeeming factor. read more

I purchased a $50 phone case from Jump in Guelph 3 days ago, and decided I would like to either return it or exchange it for a different style. Today I returned to Jump, with my original receipt and unused phone case in its unopened packaging, and explained to the employee that I would like to return the phone case. The employee opened the packaging to inspect the case. She noticed a small mark on the phone and told me that the case had signs of wear-and-tear so I could not return or exchange it. I was in total disbelief because I had not even opened it. I suggested that this could have been a manufacturer's defect, and in that scenario, the item should not have been sold like that. She insisted that I must have used and damaged the case. So I asked to speak to the manager and she said that she was the manager, and there was nothing else that could be done. So now I'm stuck with an overpriced, defective phone case that I will never use. That was my first time shopping at that store, and it will be my last. read more
