We had a couple years of good years of experiences with Jump, but then in early March we told them we wanted to cancel and get a refund (before Covid shut everything down) because of our daughter's declining interest. They said they would refund 90%, or $460, which we were fine with. Now they say they have a record of that conversation, but "are unable to refund at this time." No explanation, they act like their inability is out of their hands. They also hinted that there are many similar requests they won't respond to. I get that they have rent to pay, but they haven't had to pay instructors for months, and their rent is not my concern, we all have income situations to deal with. Hey Jump, you've stolen $500 from us. I hope a lot of customers see this and think twice about pre-paying for a term. read more

Last week I joined my friend as she took her son to his gymnastics class. I believe that Jump Gymnastics is pretty new to town. It's located just south of Beatty and Robson. The facility is bright and clean. We waited in the parent room while the kids went back in the gym with their teacher. The teacher was high energy and had lots of smiles. She was greeting the kids as they came in the door. Many of the kids kicked off their shoes and were eager to start. However, there was one girl who seemed to have anxiety about leaving her mom. She wrapped her arms and legs tightly around her dad's leg. When class was about to start, the teacher calmly talked to the girl, took her hand, and led her to class. I think that interaction speaks really well for Jump and its instructors. The class schedule is very accommodating, and gives many options for each level. NOTE: The owner was made aware of this incident by the RCMP and, also, through a written statement that I provided immediately after the incident on June 16th. Although the owner is fully aware of this incident she has made no attempt to contact me. For this reason, I feel sufficient time has passed that it is now necessary I share this experience with other parents, as to prevent future harm. I would like to start by saying that I've never written a negative review. However, given the serious nature of this negative experience --one that warrants a safety concern, I felt it necessary to share my experience at Jump Gymnastics (North Vancouver location). For parents who currently have children enrolled or for those thinking of enrolling, this review is particularly relevant. My two-year-old was enrolled in the Jump 2 class, during a make-up class (on June 16th) the coach, 'Bobby' or 'Baback' proceeded to aggressively grab my daughter by the arm to remove her from a piece of equipment --though she had every right to be there. To my dismay, Bobby angrily came over and forcibly removed her from the trampoline, while I was standing next to her. I was in absolute shock that he grabbed my child in this manner. Aggression of this kind is unwarranted and never acceptable--especially in context involving very young children. I immediately questioned his behavior, namely the way he grabbed my daughter. As shocking as this incident was, his response was equally appalling. Bobby proceeded to say that he 'didn't even leave a mark' and that I was 'over reacting, he's the manager and knows what he's doing' that 'he's trained for this', additional comments of a condescending nature were also made. The fact that he believe this conduct and contact were acceptable because he 'didn't even leave a mark' is in reprehensible. I cannot envision any situation, where 'Bobby's' behavior could be justified, you're working with toddlers and infants, physical contact of this kind will never be ok! From this interaction I have two primary/serious concerns. 1. 'Bobby' made physical contact of an aggressive nature with my daughter, to remove her off a piece of equipment that she had every right to be on. Clearly, it is never okay for anyone to touch any child in this way. Therefore, my concern is that Jump is employing and ,perhaps continuing to employ an individual who conducts himself in this manner. There are a myriad of negative implications that could stem from young children having interactions with a 'coach' who is impatient, and responds to situations with undue aggression and brass. 2. My second concern arises from the fact that Jump is employing a coach who is the manager of this location nonetheless, who does not see or take issue with this type of conduct. Being the manager, 'Bobby' should know better, and someone who does not address wrongdoing (especially when the wrongful behavior is serious and has the potential to inflict serious injury) then he will never adjust or strive to fix that behavior--making him a danger to children and, in turn, ill-suited for this type of work. In short, due to the seriousness of this incident, the RCMP were called and a statement provided. I also filed a formal complaint with Jump gymnastics--though they've never reached out to address the issue. I'm taking the time to share this experience because I do not want any parent to experience what we did that day-- words can't convey how horrible this experience was and still is, for our family. Being that Jump is an organization for children, it is there responsibility to ensure that coaches are qualified and of good fit. Given the incident that occurred 'Bobby' is clearly not a good fit. Lastly, I reached out to Gymnastics BC and the Better Business Bureau, but found out that Jump is not mandated by Gymnastics BC, as such, their coaches likely not certified through Gymnastics BC; nor are they listed as a business with the Better Business Bureau. Therefore, when incidents such as this occur, Jump has sole discretion on how to address the issue. I take no pleasure in writing this review, the overall intent is to inform parents on our very negative experience and, accordingly, make parents aware of the possibility of harm when having their children at Jump. read more

JUMP INTO GERMS... Good concept. Nothing wrong with that... My problem... Getting sick... Every single time... I bring my best friend child couples of time only BUT... Every single time we both caught the cold... Well... Just as an example... One of the helpers was inside walking around... Bare foot... No problem here... Make sense... It's a gym... BUT... This person went (EW. EW. EW.) OUTSIDE BARE FOOT. On the dirty Beatty st sidewalk... Where I'm walking da dog... And then go back inside and walked all over the place and on the MAT... Where the kids do their gymnastic move... REALLY??? It was great but I leave the job to my BF and her hubby now... I do prefer spending time with my BF child at the library... We've done two courses here for our energetic two-year-old and she's loved every minute of it. It's tricky at that age to get them to follow the group and a 'circuit' but she did learn a bunch of skills...and who doesn't love jumping on a trampoline? We've also been to the drop-ins and birthday parties...and are planning to have her third birthday here. It's pricey, but appealing after holding the last toddler birthday at our house. Jump supplies several 'extras' and cleans up afterwards! Most of the instructors are great with little kids and speak at their level. All the skills and directions are modified to appeal to them. With our next toddler, however, I think I'd save my money and stick to the drop-ins until he's old enough to focus on learning the skills. read more

My oldest son joined Jump's first classes way back in 2008 when he was 4 1/2. The difference in him over that first year was amazing, his coordination and balance was way ahead of his peers and it gave him a strong foundation to excel at other sports. Now my youngest is enjoying his time here. :) The atmosphere is open and welcoming (non-competitive) and the instructors are warm and friendly. Truly a gem in the Yaletown area. read more

Signed my child up for their spring break camp. I tried to cancel due to COVID, the owner decided to change the cancellation policy and would not allow me to cancel (I guess the health of our children is mute for this person). Later the owner said they would issue a refund and most recently they sent out a video e-mail saying sorry no refund, but you can have a credit note. I have no desire to return to this business. The owner has no ethics. Stole money from me and others (interest free loan?). Stay away. read more

Please don't leave graffiti in parks. I was walking in my local park, Andy Livingstone, and was rather annoyed to see jump gymnastics thought it was OK to advertise their business by leaving a huge chalk advert written on the ground of the play area. Imagine if all businesses did this. You should be ashamed of yourself. Have some respect and common decency, or leave graffiti in your own neighbourhood, we don't want it in ours! read more

Jump is a great gym however it's very pricey at almost $30/hour. We've hosted and attended their classes and will be attending their summer sessions. My complaint specifically relates to their cancellation policy. I had initially registered my son for fall sessions and was very surprised that they charged me 10% to cancel the registration even though I cancelled 3 months in advance and they have waitlists for the class so will have no issue filling our space. Not great and we are not impressed. We will actually consider not registering our older son or 17 month old for future sessions. They may want to lower the cost and also not charge this ridiculous fee if classes are cancelled in reasonable time. read more

we had very good experience for 6 months until they hired a new coach who was assigned to our class . She seem very new , not in control of her class and tells the kids to "do whatever they want" in the gym . So , simply speaking, this is turning into soft play for $30/hour. Jump Gymnastics is absolutely fantastic. We have been taking our son there for the last year and half and have seen outstanding progression in what he can do in the gym. The teachers are always supportive and energetic. They find a great balance between being understanding and supportive of the kids, while also working with them to ensure that they are progressing and trying new and different physical activities. Jump play staff do not have a good understanding of normal child behavior. My happy, healthy 3 year old was enjoying doing "jump play" before his scheduled class in order to burn off extra energy so he could focus when he was with his teacher. Although he does very well in the class they asked us not to come to jump play beforehand anymore. They want children to be slow moving and not excited or playful they told me that "Jump play is not a place to run or let off steam" They said it is more for new people to look around and slowly try out the equipment or for parents to work with kids to practice specific skills one:one. This was never explained to me and frankly I thought "jump play" meant that kids could have fun and play in creative ways. Noone ever let me know during a session about anything specific that we should be doing differently. I definitely feel attacked and discriminated against. I am very upset and disappointed because my son enjoyed the class but now I feel extremely uncomfortable and will never go back. If you have strong healthy kids with energy you will not be welcome at Jump Gymnastics. read more

Jump has a great program for getting the kids moving and challenging themselves. It's on the pricey side of gymnastics facilities which is why I didn't give it more stars, but the coaches and the owner are very good with the kids. read more

My son just finished a spring break camp at this fine establishment, and I am so thrilled with all aspects of it. The staff are so wonderful, loving and engaging, the place itself is beautiful and the care and service they provide is second to none. My kid is shy and attached and he couldn't wait to get out the door to get to Jump every single morning, that deserves a 5 star yelp in my books. read more

I've seen how this gym works and the "skills" learned are extremely basic. This gym is basically an expensive day care. The coaches will give astoundingly positive feedback to the kids at all times which I think is excessive and unnecessary. If you have the time to take your kid outdoors to play, save your money. read more
