I love this place. It NEVER disappoints! The selection of hard-to-find multi-cultural items and ingredients is top notch, and the store is always well-stocked! Even during busy times like during the holidays, the shelves are always full and neat. The store is always clean and well maintained. The meats and seafood are top quality, the produce is fresh, and like I mentioned, the shelves are always stocked. The staff is friendly and helpful too. I watched the workers take fish (salmon) from the refrigerator unwrap it pay it dry with paper towel and rewrap it with a new date. This is a poor practice that can make you sick. The manager of the seafood department freezes the dead whole lobster not knowing that the meat can be bad and can cause you to get sick. They leave the dead crabs hoping some unexpected person who is unaware about buying crabs purchase them. They have very bad practices when it comes to food safety. The Asian guy over seafood is the worst and teaches the Hispanic employees to be nasty to black people. read more

On Friday, June 20, 2025, per a recommendation I went to Jumbi to purchase fresh crabs. While waiting for my selection to bw steamed I watched one of the seafood dept retrieve an order of shrimp to be weighed from a customer who walked away. After weighing and bagging them I watched the same employee call for the lady and then turn his head and spit over his shoulder onto the floor of the seafood dept. Horrified I sought out a manager to complain. I was directed to a Hispanic woman working a register. I explained to her what had transpired and she redirected me to an Asian woman. When I explained to the woman had happened as I attempted to hand her my steam ticket, coupons and basket. She explained that she would ring me up so that I could pay. I retueratednto her, while demonstrating how he spat on the floor and at First she looked shocked and repeated, "spit?" Then suggested she would ring me up. I handed her everything and proceeded to exit the store as she stood blinking at me. I made a TikTok post @MsAllOrNuffin and an Instagram post depicting what transpired. I attempted to contact the Health dept but was directed to contact the county's health dept. Visiting the local health dept link I was advised to contact Prince George's County 311 number to lodge a complaint. I did so and received notification on June 24th that the matter had been resolved. read more

Bought some dried hibiscus and whole kernel allspice (pimento) to make Sorrel. Love all the oddities you can find here.... including a serious BADIA collection most stores can't touch. This is an International grocery store. Wide variety of American, Mexican, and Asian products. They have different cuts of meat great for adobo. I saw some cooked and uncooked chitterlings....not a fan. Good size seafood area selling fresh shrimp, stone crabs, mussels, and cod fish. The only the downfall was the rancid odor, I can handle fishy odor but the smell was rotten to me - maybe better cleaning or use of disinfectant at the end of the day. Impressive veggie and fruit selection. However, the oranges were a bit soft and spotty. Located in a shady area with trash in the parking lot. Avoid at night or have somebody with you. The 4 star rating is for living up to its name - international food store. read more

I came here 3-12-24 from volunteering at Church!! this was my first time here and it's amaaaazing. The service is so helpful and omg I was getting snap peas and Ming beans for my noodles & shrimp but it was a lot in a pack and they can cut it in half !!! (I've never had that from any other markets!! usually you have to buy as is !! ). It's very cleaned and they have everything!! Omggg and I'm too hyped they have the hugest thickest Lamb chops!! & it's HALAL!! (I gotta come back!! ). They even have a Butcher Shop!!! Which isn't in ANY of of the ones I've visited!! Usually it's all fresh seafood so this made me hype!! & they have a cut chart which was cool you know what you're getting like when Texas Roadhouse tells you to pick out your steaks . I purchased Turkey wings on Sunday, I was going to cook them on Wednesday, they were refrigerated until I was ready to cook them. I took them out of the refrigerator, they were stinking. I took them back to Jumbo to get my money back. You have to return meats/produce within 8 hours of purchasing. This is ridiculous to have an 8 hr return policy. Just because the turkey wings were purchased doesn't mean they're going to get cooked the same day. Terrible policy. The manager should be ashamed. read more

I live in Southern Maryland and cook a lot of Asian food. There are no Asian grocery stores around. Well, there are, but they don't carry what I need. I would normally drive to Virginia to places like H Mart or Grand Mart in Annandale/Alexandria or Fairfax. So now I know about Jumbo! It's located in Temple Hills not too far from Rosecroft Raceway. You can can find a large variety of Asian as well as international foods here. You can get Papusas and other Latino-centric food, Middle eastern and Indian foods. They also have a nice assortment of fresh seafood. One thing that I really appreciate is getting fresh herbs like Basil. It's bigger, more fragrant and colorful and cheaper than what you would find at for example; Safeway. So there it is. If you didn't know, now you know. read more

This is just a really nasty place. First, upon entering you're greeted by a fish smell. You also can't help but notice the dozens of security images of people who stole items. But none of that really bothered me. I came to get carne asada/fajita steak with my husband for the first time because the last time we came we saw that it was $5 a pound, and you can't beat that. We wanted 10 pounds of meat. So the butcher (his name was either Amado or Armando) asks if we wanted the $8 or the $5. My husband tells him $5 and at the same time he points to the sign that said $5. So the guy bags it all up and hands it to us. I look at the price of $80? We specifically said the $5 per pound meat. So he gets an attitude and refuses to serve us because he swears my husband said $8. He said he got off 2 minutes ago so we can go somewhere else cause he's not going to give us anything. He clocks out and leaves. So my husband asked another employee if he could take care of us, and the employee did. Then the steak was just disgusting. I guess you get what you pay for but we threw away probably 8 pounds of it cause it had a horrible taste and was super tough. Don't think we'll ever be returning. read more

This place blew me away. I plan to start shopping here more often due to me becoming a pescatarian. I saw a jackfruit for the first time in my life. Jumbo had fresh Aloe plants, fresh seafood, and a variety of ethnic food items from any ethnicity you could imagine. This store is a hidden gem that a lot of people would avoid due to the location. I gave it four stars instead of five because the place is dirty and isles are very narrow and the staff mostly does not speak English. That being said most of the international grocery stores in the tri-state area I like that which is part of the reason they are so cool to have a place like this 20 minutes from where I live is fantastic I love to cook ethnic foods especially Thai Chinese and South American cuisine the meats and seafood here are fantastic and they have stacks of bags with herbs wrapped in them for pennies on the dollar compared to a regular supermarket I really love this place but the neighborhood is a bit sketchy... read more

This place is great and the prices are reasonable. I give it 4 stars because the smell in there isn't pleasant. I just try to block it out. They have a seafood section there so I guess that's where some of the smell is coming from. I only come here for their fruit. They have a pretty good fruit selection and it's fresh. The seafood selection is good as well. I'm not really a seafood eater but my family comes here for the crabs. They love them! If you love crabs I recommend coming here! read more

I can't say I'm a fan. I frequent international markets because they carry the goods that I need to make the foods that I like but Jumbo Food kept failing for me. The produce all fell short of freshness or ripeness. The seafood department was disorganized. A lot of the prices were missing on the shelf items. The cashier was dismissive and, for a while, pretended as though I wasn't even on the line. It was a strange experience but I was in a bind. Hopefully, I'll plan better next time and not have to shop here. I'll stick to Grand Mart & H Mart. read more

So happy I found this market! After relocating from an area full of international markets, I'd been on the hunt to find a new one. If you've been to one international market, then you know the deal. Stop it with the comparisons to large scale, chain grocery stores, and patronize them if that's what you want. I prefer shopping at places like this and smaller stores for my produce, meat & specialty items. I'm a fan of many international foods and found everything on my list here. I love to stock up on meat in bulk & got chicken leg quarters & drumsticks, oxtail, beef short ribs, and more for my freezer. I'm super comfortable being the only or one of few Americans in international markets and use it as either an opportunity to brush up on my Spanish speaking, or be nosey and look in everyone's buggies (hell, they're looking in mine!) All I can say is wow! What an experience to see so many different types of fruits and veggies. I love to cook Asian dishes. So, I was in heaven... so many different fresh herbs and seasonings. And, the seafood department had a variety of seafood. Their meat department has a variety that I have never seen before. Most prices are comparable to the big chain stores. They have a wide variety of ethnic food and what I love most is they allow you to pick your own LIVE CRABS (male or female) and they steam them for you. They also let you pick your own shrimp and have fresh calamari and crab claws. There is a small fee to steam things which is $2 which isn't bad when you can get a half a dozen for a little less than $20. Anything you can think of they have in that market! read more
