I thought she was a good doctor and caring... but she dumped me in a heartbeat over a dispute I had with her staff, relating to a threatening email they sent me over my first "No Call No Show". First, they claimed it was the second "No Call - No Show" I had, which it was NOT. The first time I showed up late due to internet technical issues, which was all documented in email, and which I provided proof to them. Second. Even before this dispute I was having problems with them. Every month, I was expected to send a message to Dr. Bethany every time I needed a refill. But every time I called in and or sent a message to request a refill, her and her staff would claim that they did. But when I went to pickup my medication at the pharmacy at the last minute, the pharmacist would tell me she never requested a refill. This would cause me to go days without medication, which effected my mood. It also caused me a lot of stress and lose of productive time troubleshooting the issue. Back a out the notice - The message was extremely callous and threatening, and after I got defensive and complained about it and the issues I was experiencing, hoping they would improve the situation; The clinic manager, Payton Kaughr, who I never spoke with before, and being a coward, sent me a cold letter stating they decided to terminate our client relationship because they felt I violated their "code of conduct agreement". The most disgusting thing about this was it was a lie. Although I was clearly upset, I was clear, communicative, professional, and my emotions were tempered. I did not use any fowl language and I did not threaten anyone, - which in my opinion should be the only grounds for breaking any rules of conduct. This is one of the most dishonest health care providers I have ever dealt with, and in my opinion they are in the wrong business. Stay away! You've been warned!

Horrible experience! Long wait time and abusive doctors. After being brow beatten and diagnosed for…read morea disease I don't have by an anesthesiologist at Salem Health's Comprehensive Pain Clinic I went to OHSU's Comprehensive Pain Center. The difference was astounding! A team of neurologists spent an hour and a half evaluating me and after many tests they diagnosed a severe neurological disorder and referred me to another specialty for another diagnosis of a painfully debilitating disease. Several procedures were performed by anesthesiologists under the direction of my neurologist with good results and a pain management plan involving multiple disciplines was developed. Salem Health should be ashamed of their clinic and the two anesthesiologists that run it. They have no business treating patients who are at their most vulnerable. A doctor that walks in a room and makes a diagnosis after looking at one page of the new patient forms is an incompetent at best. In my case the doctor at Salem Health spent 16 minutes with me and verbally battered me for disagreeing with his instantaneous diagnosis while sneering and ridiculing me. A year later I learned that he had falsified my chart notes by including results of a physical exam he didn't perform. He portrayed me poorly and it was a factor in the denial of my disability insurance. Then the clinic hid his chart notes when I repeatedly requested my records. For weeks they insisted that the only document in my file was the signed release but they finally provided them. When I tried to have my medical record amended Salem Health refused and backed their joke of a doctor. I was awarded disability benefits on appeal and because of the diagnoses and care I received at OHSU I'm doing better but the whole experience with Salem Health has left a bad taste in my mouth. No institution should hire and back such incompetence and no doctor or institution should have that much power.

Salem Occupational Health has been a disaster…read more The doctors at Salem Occupational Health will basically do whatever SAIF tells them to do. Even if they refer you out to another clinic or another doctor, the second opinion or third opinion they receive is routinely discarded. The first doctor I was assigned at Salem Occupational Health was Dr. Bertram, Who wrote me a prescription for some Tylenol 3 on another doctors prescription pad, because his license to prescribe narcotics had been suspended. He also "desperately needed" to see my x-ray from an outside provider, an x-ray that was taken the day of the injury. After several weeks worth of appointments and him complaining that he hadn't been able to obtain the x-ray, I suggested that I just be sent for a new x-ray, he declined. So we waited almost 2 months to start any kind of treatment, because he was waiting on an old x-ray instead of just ordering a new one. After I lodged a complaint about not wanting to be assigned to a doctor that won't order an X-ray and literally can't even write a prescription for me, I was assigned a second doctor, Dr. Thiessen. Dr. Theissen was better, but still didn't listen to anything my wife or I had to say. He still didn't agree even though SAIF and my employer had already accepted the injury as a work injury, the video footage had already been reviewed, everybody had signed off on the fact that this was a work injury, Dr. Theissen, not a foot specialist, just a general practice doctor, he wasn't so sure. Even though Dr. Theissen routinely stated that "feet are not my specialty" he had quite a bit to say in regards to what I needed, which routinely went against the actual foot specialist I was seeing at Hope Orthopedics. I now have a referral for the foot surgery I need, two procedures and one surgery, and simply needed a referral, and my new Dr, Dr White, Barged into the room and said "I've reviewed some of your file, and I'm releasing you to go back to work full duty, no restrictions. Again, I am referred for a foot surgery, I cannot walk, my injury case has already been to a legal hearing, which I won, the SAIF corporation has agreed to cover this surgery, and rehabilitation afterwards, I tried to explain this to the angry ranting Dr. White, but he was not listening to anything that I had to say. I asked Dr. White, point blank, are you even going to look at my foot? Look at the bruising and swelling?" His reply? "No." So after a full year of sometimes monthly, and sometimes biweekly appointments at Salem Occupational Health, and being referred out to other locations for several IME evaluations, all of which came back in my favor, my "new" doctor declined to even look at my foot. If you want to doctors that don't listen, doctors that do whatever the SAIF corporation tell them to do, or you just want to be treated at a clinic that seems to round up doctors who are otherwise on their way out, then I highly recommend Salem Occupational Health. Also, be advised that in the midst of a Covid pandemic, Dr. White can't be bothered to wear his mask appropriately, meaning covering his nose and his mouth at the same time. Completely unprofessional, completely inexcusable, and honestly, just kind of sad.
