Dr. Clotfelter has literally changed my life, and is one of the main reasons I trust Doctors of Osteopathy infinitely more than an average PA or MD. Two of my main providers are D.O.s, and they've both effectively changed and saved my life in the way they treat the whole human being by symptoms, not just through a series of meds listed under the ICD code for your medical issue. I was sad for me (because I'm a selfish thing!) but happy for Dr. C when she took her leave to have her baby, because if her parenting is anything close to her practice of medicine, then I would like her to adopt me! In all seriousness, Dr. C may sometimes take a bit to see patients, but if that patient is me, I'm always grateful she goes above and beyond to deliver comprehensive appointments, actually tied the time to listen to me, as a human being, seeks whole-person treatment (holistic treatment is kind of what DOs are known best for, and would you rather have part of you treated, or your entire body considered when being evaluated?). It's been those times when I've needed to cry in frustration as we seek answers for my complicated medical case together that I've been most grateful to have her in my life, because I'm not sure if I will ever have (I never have before) a doctor like Christine Clotfelter, D.O. Not only is she compassionate and easy to talk to, non-judgmental and understands that sometimes human beings don't fit into the square box of standardized medicine protocols, her entire staff are just as professional, caring, patient -oriented, and respectful of every one of their patients. I've got more issues than People Magazine, and I have had nothing but the utmost professionalism, kindness, and actually beneficial treatment from Dr. Clotfelter and her entire staff. From check in to checkup yo check out, you won't find another practice in this entire county more dedicated to their patients than this medical group. I had a truly terrible experience with this doctor. He was condescending and dismissive about many…read moreof my concerns, including with respect to conditions for which I have received a prior diagnosis. He routinely failed to have my Rx's filled unless I followed up with him multiple times - I've never had this issue with a doctor. On one occasion, his failure to timely call-in my Rx resulted in my having to wait 45 days to have it refilled due to a nationwide shortage (the pharmacy confirmed that had he called it in on-time, I would have had no issue). The last straw occurred most recently, in which it took 7 days after an appointment for him to call in the Rx for a medicine (for which lack of access could be life-threatening), despite following up with his office 3 times and them failing to call me back after saying they would. It wasn't until I stopped by in person that he finally filled the Rx. This office was an absolute nightmare.

I had hernia surgery performed several years ago at Coastal Surgeons. I've experienced pain at the…read moresurgical site every time I work out, and it recently got so bad one night that I went to urgent care. I later found out that the surgeon who performed my original procedure had retired. I called on a Wednesday to request an urgent appointment and was told they needed to obtain records from the urgent care doctor first--why couldn't their own surgeons evaluate the problem? I was promised a call back, but received nothing. When I called them back on Friday, I learned the representative I had spoken with was out sick and hadn't informed anyone about my situation. No urgent case handoff to other staff had occurred. From there, I had to deal with a rude and clueless staff member whose main goal seemed to be doing as little work as possible and rushing me off the phone. I eventually got an appointment with a different surgeon outside their practice the following week. When I asked if he needed the urgent care report, he replied, "Why? I'll make my own determination." Between the lingering pain and the thoughtless, incompetent staff, I have taken my care elsewhere. Caveat emptor.
