Our last three visits have been frustrating, but this final experience was the breaking point. I brought my Border Collie in with very specific, detailed instructions for a "pet trim" to improve her comfort and hygiene: Detailed scissoring and blending on the legs to avoid blunt, choppy cuts. Thinning shears to reduce density on her tail while maintaining the "flag" look. A "tunnel belly" and sanitary trim for cooling. Instead of the skilled scissor work I requested, they took the absolute "easy way out." They finished her entire grooming in 30 minutes (it usually takes an hour), and when I picked her up, she had been shaved to a 1/8th inch "puppy cut" all over. For a double-coated breed, this is devastating to their ability to regulate temperature. When I called to address this, they claimed I asked for an "all-over trim." In what world does a request for a blended, functional trim result in a total shave-down? To make matters worse, the staff member hung up on me, saying they were "really busy" and offered zero accommodation or apology for ignoring my instructions. It is incredibly disappointing to see a business treat a long-time customer with such blatant disregard. They clearly prioritize speed and high turnover over actual grooming technique and customer service. We will not be returning.

There was a petite young woman who doted on the dogs and her work was very personal to her. In the last 6-8 moths, the quality has gone down, cuts uneven, runs in their coat, bare spots behing their legs. Last time we went they were running 2 hours late (had the dogs for 7 hours). They had some runs like the last few times, but we looked the other way. This last time, one of our dogs, shook his head at night (something was bothering him), 6 hrs after we picked him up and there as a wet cottonball stuck in his ear. He had a rash in his inner thigh and was licking it. Over the last week, he has been shaking his head a lot more, the rash lightened. Went to the Vet. $330 later, 2 yeast infections vet said likely from the cottonballs in his ear for so long, and because of the scratching, an ear infection in the other. They have floppy ears and I neve thought of checking their ears after a cut. I wish they could have been more careful and cared for them more. I also understand they were recently sold (not sure how recent) and the older reviews do not necessarily represent current management.

First impression you cannot miss when you meet Dora's at Petaleashous is her caring approach to the pet she is asked to groom. Indeed, she is more interested in the welfare of our beloved "fur balls" that anything else. Sometimes and it happened to my senior 14 years old Golden Retriever, she did cut short or totally not proceed with certain grooming services in order not to stress out my dog or hurt (arthritis) in my Golden's case. That was very considerate of her and I am sure my Golden did appreciate it as well too. When this happened, Dora was cognoscente and adjusted her service fee accordingly.... Her services have always exceeded expectations, and it showed that she really takes care of the well-being of the pet, "the pet first" I remembered her saying to me once. Before using Petaleahous Mobile Pet Grooming, I used to take my Golden to the PetCo's of the world and was charged more and with okey results... You can genuinely tell that he and his team love what they do, and that kind of care makes all the difference. Both times I've been there, his tables have been full of happy pups, which says everything about the environment and the level of care they provide. We actually drive all the way from Virginia, which is definitely a commute, but it's 100% worth it. Ricky does an amazing job every time, and I wouldn't trust anyone else with Kimba. I was recommended Old Towne Pet Resort by a coworker, and I will now be recommending them too!…read more I called to make a 2-week dog boarding reservation 30-days in advance for the peak Christmas season, and they miraculously had availability at one of their three locations (Bethesda). The gentleman on the phone was so helpful and informative and made it easy. When it came time to drop my dog off the staff were so friendly and kind, and they were extremely attentive and took detailed notes of all the items I brought with my dog and any of her quirks (e.g., severe allergies, doesn't play well with others, etc.). The space was so clean and large. I felt very reassured dropping her off as I went on vacation. When I came back to get her, the staff was helpful and, again, extremely kind and talked about her time there with details that were definitely unique to my dog. She was happy, healthy, clean, and well groomed. All of her toys and leash items were accounted for and they even ran a toy out to my car that they had forgotten in her kennel. Bottom line: 5/5 do recommend!

Two years after boarding my dog at Olde Towne Pet Resort, I am still dealing with health issues…read morecaused during her stay. I am not one to complain, especially in a public forum, but the lack of care my animal received was egregious. During her stay, my dog experienced an ear infection so severe that she developed acute dermatitis from scratching. The sore or 'hot spot' on her cheek was unmissable when we picked her up, but The staff tried to pass it off as if everything was normal. The groomer who prepared her for pickup had the gall to pretend he didn't notice a massive weeping sore on her face. For her condition to have reached this point, she would have needed to scratch constantly for days and not be noticed by the staff that were supposed to be spending 'cuddle time' with her daily. As anyone who has ever had a pet with an ear infection can attest, the behavior is far from subtle. Any remotely observant and competent person would catch it. Worse, I reviewed the update photos that were sent throughout her stay, and red spot on her cheek is visible in every shot and getting progressively worse. This means that the staff overseeing playtime let an animal run around with blood on her face for days without investigating. This is utterly unacceptable. My dog also came home with constant bouts of diarrhea that we assumed this might have been a bug she picked up in boarding, but it turned out to be colitis. Our veterinarian confirmed that this was most likely stress-induced. It has made me wonder what trauma my dog experienced while being boarded that would cause her to develop a permanent bowel condition. Her colitis has caused her enormous suffering and I am still trying to manage the condition years later. As others have reported here, the staff did not feed my animal the way they were directed, and returned what was supposed to be an empty bag of dog food to us half-full. So to recap, they underfed my dog in addition to neglecting an ear infection and resultant severe, pus-weeping skin infection, then tried to pass my pet off to me as if nothing happened. Whatever they did or neglected to do for her led to a chronic bowel condition that has rendered her partially incontinent. I was appalled by the dishonesty I experienced from the staff, but decided at the time to let it go, and simply swore never to give Olde Towne my business again. I figured my dog would bounce back, but she didn't. Reflecting that she has never been the same and that she experienced pain and neglect at the hands of the people I entrusted her with, I feel the need to let other pet owners know what they might be in for if they board their animals here.

I was so embarrassed when we arrived because my little demon decided to take a number two right in the lobby. The staff didn't flinch and assured me they would take care of it. They checked us in just like they would do for me when I visit a spa and ushered him away for his grooming appointment. They called me a few hours later to say my boy was ready but I told them I wouldn't be able to get him until a couple of hours later. The agent said that was fine and I could get him anytime before closing. Mind you, I dropped him off before 10 am. So I'm basically getting free daycare along with the grooming fee. Which I also didn't pay for because I had a complimentary visit! I gave a nice tip when I picked him up and he rounded the corner with a glorious mane. I couldn't stop laughing because he was blown out to the GAWDS. Anyway, we will be back and I know it will be worth it.
