    Text message to Rachel regarding the brassy color in my hair

    I called around lunch one day last week to see if this salon had an opening later that same afternoon because the girl that normally does my hair got sick & had to cancel. I spoke with Rachel, the owner of the company, who told me they would be able to get me in that same afternoon. She & I text back & forth regarding the appointment, as she asked for pictures of my hair so that she could quote me a price. At the time, I was unsure of what I wanted to do with my hair because I normally get a balayage but I wasn't sure if the stylist would have time for that since I was a last minute appointment. So I was asking questions about pricing for different things. She quoted me $235 for a balayage and cut which is quite a bit more pricey than what I normally pay but I didn't say anything or complain. Rachel, voluntarily, told me that Lisa is a "master hairstylist" and that's why her prices are so high. My appointment went great. Lisa did a balayage, cut and style for me & before I left, i thought it looked really good. Once I got out in the sun, the color showed up different & there was a lot of orange/brassy color in my hair from where the toner didn't sit long enough or just didn't take. I was the last appointment of the day so I text Rachel & asked if I could come in on Sunday to have it fixed. I was aware that the salon was closed Sunday & Monday but I was visiting my parents & was heading back home to TN on Monday. Rachel immediately got defensive & stated that I needed to keep in mind that I was a last minute appointment & that they did me a favor my squeezing me in & that I was on a low budget to begin with. I thought that was a really interesting comment to make since I had not said anything at all about how high their prices were or even what my budget was, for that matter. There's also a direct quote from Rachel on the salons website saying how it's her mission to make everyone feel welcome regardless of their income level. My guess is she was saying that if I had more money, maybe my hair wouldn't be orange. I'm not sure but it was extremely unprofessional and judgmental. I tried to remain respectful but also stand my ground as I thought after spending $235 on my hair, it should be done correctly. I mean, after all, if you're going to charge "master hairstylist" prices then it should be "master hairstylist" material & not look brassy. She continued to argue with me and got so rude. I finally just stopped responding because the conversation was going no where & she was just getting nasty. She finally agreed to fix my hair on Sunday so I met them up there & Rachel did not say a single word to me the entire time I was there. In fact, she went into the back room so she didn't even have to be around me. I did not receive a single apology from Rachel from start to finish during this experience. Lisa apologized several times. I explained to Lisa that I was never upset with her, that I knew mistakes happen & that i just needed it fixed. Rachel never told Lisa that I wasn't upset with her but rather led Lisa to believe that I was extremely unhappy with my hair & angry. I was angry, but not at Lisa. My anger was directed at Rachel, as it should have been considering the total unprofessionalism I was shown by her and how she runs her business. During the second appointment to correct the brassy color in my hair, Lisa accidentally brought the chemicals down too close to my face & it burned my skin pretty badly. That is my ONLY complaint with Lisa & I feel like that shouldn't have happened with the prices they are charging. To each their own but I was extremely disappointed in the service I received here. I have included pictures from the texts between Rachel & I, the brassy color in my hair, as well as the chemical burns on my face. Edited to add- After Rachel saw my review, she text me at 2 am threatening me with her lawyer and has been harassing me all morning. Apparently, me wanting the quality of service I paid for & sharing my experience makes me an entitled brat.

    The lady cut my sons hair. She did an amazing job. Event sent all the other little neighbor boys there.
