I want to share my experience so others are aware before signing up. I was charged $160 from my account, and after looking into it, I found out my account had been incorrectly linked to someone else's. Because they couldn't collect from that person, they withdrew an additional $80 from my account--meaning I was charged for both my membership and someone else's. When I called to resolve this, the representative I spoke with was dismissive and unhelpful. The conversation became frustrating, and I'll take accountability for the fact that I reacted poorly before ending the call. However, when I later spoke with the manager, I explained both the billing issue and my concerns about how I was treated. Shortly after, I was informed that I was being banned from the facility. The explanation given was that their employee sounded "confused" on the call, while I was described as "aggressive." That distinction doesn't sit right with me. I felt unheard, and the situation was not handled with fairness or professionalism--especially considering the original issue involved incorrect billing and account mismanagement. At the end of the day, my concern is this: customers should not have to deal with being charged incorrectly, dismissed when they raise concerns, and then penalized for reacting to poor service. I have been a member of Massage Envy for many years. Unfortunately, because of one manager, Evett and the way she treated me, I am cancelling my membership today. Last week, I was so looking forward to a much-needed massage and had requested a certain person which I never do. When I got there, they had switched my therapist because the one I requested had called in sick. I couldn't relax during the whole massage because it wasn't what I wanted. I realized I should've had a choice in the matter because I would've just waited for that other therapist to return and I wouldn't have came in that day. I explained all this to Evett and even one of the other employees there said , "oh yeah, our voicemails disappear sometimes. of customers have been complaining about that. For some reason they don't go through." I even showed her my phone log showing where they did not call other than at 11:05 to see if I was on my way. She didn't treat me well in the clinic and embarrassed me in front of everyone acting as if I had done something wrong even though they are culpable. She was rude again today on the phone. I'm not someone who leaves reviews and I have been treated with excellent care by other massage envy's around town. But this experience put a bad taste in my mouth and I think I'll just go join Massage Luxe!! I should add that I've talked several of my friends into joining massage envy. This is review is purely for management at O'Fallon location. We booked 2 massages a month back, planned baby sitter to watch our kid. On the day of our appointment, we got a text that appointment is canceled because therapist is not available. If I cancel on same day, I need to pay 50% but if they cancel same day, then there's nothing they can do, instead management said we don't charge you to reschedule!! I had to reschedule because the therapist is not available and they don't have any other therapist available at the same time. We were flexible to adjust with another therapist as well, but it's not a favor on us if you are letting us reschedule without any charge! Highly disappointed. Fast forward to today, when the appointment was reschedule, again we made all arrangements and went, this time therapists were available but they ignored our main request to have female therapists! And we told us that we have one male therapist only after check in! Now this is second time appointment was messed up and nothing they can do! We apologize this happened but nothing else we can do! Extremely unhappy with the service provided. I had booked 60 min facial and they were done on 1/2 hour. When questioned the response was facials are not time based. So if they are not time based then why was I charged for whole hour. On top of that they suggested me to book another facial in 2 weeks. I am a widowed woman in my 60s. A specific massage therapist was recommended to me by a family member at the Winghaven location. The family member said this young lady was very talkative though, but gave a great massage. The massage therapist's initials are JC. I joined the Winghaven location and requested her each time. During the massages she, in fact, was extrememely talkative. She talked about buying a condo in Dec., and I coincidentally am a realtor and let her know I could help her if she wasn't working with a realtor. She acted excited about that and inquired about more information. She spoke about being single. After the 3rd massage I thought she was a very nice young lady and that she liked me too. I was comfortable conversing with her. On my way out the last time I realized I know a very nice single young man she might be interested in and I only mention things of this nature when there is a comfort level and I think the person is super nice. The next month I booked another appointment and requested her. The day before my appointment my confirmation text came through, but it was with a different massage therapist. I called to inquire. The receptionist stated "JC" was off the day I was scheduled. I suggested it would be nice to have someone actually communicate that as I didn't really want to try a different massage therapist. I asked to speak to a manager. I could tell she put me on speaker, I suppose so the other girls at the front could hear my conversation? Anyway, the manager/owner got on the phone and told me that JC was not comfortable working with me. I was SHOCKED. It made no sense. She was the one carrying the conversations during massages. I asked the owner why? She said JC wasn't comfortable with some of the topics of conversation. SERIOUSLY? So this gal who instigates talking excessively during a massage is suddenly uncomfortable so uncomfortable she doesn't want to do a massage for me any longer? There is literally no logic here. In the end the owner said, "She's young." Look, if this woman isn't comfortable conversing she should not share so much and encourage conversation. I would completely understand if there had been wrong doing on my part, but there was none. Must fill out all kinds of personal health info on an iPad upon arrival similar to doctor office. Don't fall for it. Only indicate areas of massage requested and sign it. Don't enter ANY info. After filling out info, they lead you to the "tranquility room". Pure psychological marketing bs and mainly a holding room which they use to screw you out of your time. Eventually, 10-15 minutes after your appointment time, therapist casually saunters in and leads you to massage room, then starts going over the info you entered on the iPad. "You have no conditions I should be aware of?" nope! Therapist worked very hard to drag out this to minimize time spent on the massage. I was very curt and never gave therapist any more opportunity to drag out the pre massage evaluation bs, and could tell she didn't like that. Things weren't working as much according to their scam. Eventually got on with the session and was unremarkable. It's also a huge turn off when the therapist makes medical-sounding comments about unusual things she's supposedly discovering etc. please. I'm not stupid. Honestly, you'd get a much bigger bang for your buck in a hotel with a hot tub for a night. Then afterwards, I was already braced for the sales pitches. "You should consider a foot scrub next time" (my feet are smooth as a baby's butt btw) "would you like to make another appointment?" Um, no. I'm not rich and certainly not stupid enough to go through this again. I was just using a gift certificate as it was. Just no to this money machine. Stick with the Asian holes in the wall, honestly. My wife & I subscribed to an auto renewal program of monthly massages. Thanks to the "pandemic" we weren't allowed to use our remaining 4 prepaid massages because they weren't accepting clients. Once the pandemic slowed where we could get back in, we tried to use the $200+ we prepaid and just get 1 each giving up 1/2 of what we paid. We were never called back the original phone call, transferred twice afterwards to finally be bluntly told no and laughed at. Never again will I ever do business with this fraudulent company. The therapists are good - but management leaves much to be desired. If you can't make the Appointment - they will charge you full fee without warning you upfront - so beware. Also check out their policies - managers will quote rehearsed speech on policies without listening to you- and they do not give you any points on loyalty either. So - the relaxation u receive from the massage is undone by talking to management on the phone. A NOT SO ENVY experience to beware of - with this Ofallon site that I have not had with ANY of the other sites in the last three years! read more

My wife was a member till Saturday. She was going to give me a massage from Massage Envy for Fathers day present. She was quoted a price then and confirmed it when she booked it for this weekend. Low and behold they flipped the script and doubled the price. What makes it worse than not admitting their employees mistake as a good business owner would do and the owner was spoken too he said no. As a result they lost a regular membership customer and my occasional business as well. They obviously don't know what the right thing to do and if they will not honor the price quoted to us what else are they doing horribly. I've been going through a lot of pretty significant back and shoulder issues over the last 6 months, and Allison has accepted the challenge and really delivered on the results. If she doesn't know exactly how to help remedy a problem on the first time I bring it up, the next time I come in, she's done her research, and executed techniques that she learned through her research to help make me feel great. She's solved lower back issues, sciatic nerve issues, finger numbness, carpal tunnel issues, headaches, etc. You name it, and she can attack the problem and get you feeling like your old self again. Long story short, we go to pay and the front desk girl tells us the total was $180. We were shocked and explained that we paid $90 last time and were told the same for this time. She was very snooty with us and didn't wanna help with a solution at all. She offered to call her manager but said that "she probably won't answer and she's just going to tell you the same thing I'm telling you." Therapist are good but front desk isn't worth the hassle. I've been going there for a year and there seems to be confusion 50% of my visits. The latest problem was... On Saturday Sept 15th a had a massage at 12:30 and after I make an appointment for 9/30 at 12:30. I had to wait and watch the front desk person put it in the system and write out an appt card. I show up today and they tell me I don't have an appt. I'm not in the system. They acted as if it was my issue. I showed them the card but not even a sorry or an attempt to reschedule. This is not the first problem with the office staff. If it wasn't for the therapists there I would cancel the membership so be aware of these poor services. read more

It all began with a membership which was my first mistake. When you have a contract there's not much incentive for the business to try too hard. Each time I called the front desk I would get different answers to specific questions that I had. I was told that managers weren't available to clarify information for me until a much later time period. Another problem was trying the customer appreciation special for 90 minutes which were supposed to be an added bargain or benefit to your membership. What I found, after trying to different 90 minute sessions, was that the therapist would lay down on the job. It was mostly just the laying on of hands and not much massaging happening at all. Very disappointing and felt like another rip off. The very first facial I had was with a woman who talked the entire time about her past and personal life of which none of it interested me and I felt as though I needed to purge thoughts from my head when I left. What a turn off!! Lastly they sure didn't bother to inform me about my expiring $60 dollar balance when I called to cancel due to an injury. They could have told me that I needed to reschedule by the end of the next week so that I wouldn't lose my $60 balance towards a service. DO NOT GO HERE!! I have never been so ill-treated and lied to by ANY company. I subscribed to the 12 month wellness plan with the promise that I could cancel if not pleased after 6 months. Well 10 months later and I had had enough. At every visit, I was treated poorly and they tried to get additional $$ at every service. My contract was $60 per month for 1 sixty minute massage yet they tried to charge me an additional $40 at every visit. It's flu season and of course I got the flu. The flu typically comes on very quickly with an overnight fever. I called first thing in the morning to cancel but was told they would be taking my $60 wellness visit as payment for the missed service. So back around to where I started. Today I tried to cancel my subscription and was told I could not. The Assistant Manager literally looked me in the face and said "oh, yeah, our previous staff would lie to customers telling them they could cancel after 6 months in order to get the contract sale/commission.
