I can't express enough gratitude to Julia Murtagh during my fiancé and I's journey as first-time homebuyers. From our very first meeting, it was clear that Julia genuinely cared about our needs and concerns. She was a true advocate for us and educated us on every step of the home-buying process, making what could have been an overwhelming experience feel manageable and exciting. Not only did Julia patiently walk us through market trends and the buying process, but she also negotiated fantastic terms for our purchase. She was always available to answer my questions, no matter how small and shared with us invaluable insights that gave us the confidence to know we were in the right hands during a very stressful, but memorable decision for our future. Julia, your unwavering support and kindness is something I hope every first time homebuyer gets to experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Julia Murtagh and her team at Compass to anyone looking to buy a home. THANK YOU for being apart of this next chapter in our lives, we LOVE our new home and couldn't have done this without you. read more

Julia was a fantastic agent--knowledgeable, direct, caring, and patient. I can't recommend her enough! My husband and I were first time home buyers with a bad experience with a previous realtor who tried to rush us into a bad purchase. Julia went above and beyond to ensure that we bought the best house for our budget. She helped us interpret disclosures, telling us when a home would require more repairs than we were financially prepared for. She also worked very well with the inspectors and seller's agent. She also helped us negotiate with the sellers, provided great inspector recommendations, and informed us with details at each point of the process. If you're a first time home buyer, look no further and trust Julia will make the process as smooth as possible. read more

My wife and I recently worked with Julia Murtagh and Amy Mayerson from The Murtagh Team to sell our home in Pleasanton. Having worked with Julia 10 years ago to buy this home, we trusted her completely. Julia's experience prioritizing the steps to get ready and Amy's attention to detail in getting the house ready to sell were outstanding. We learned that preparing a house for sale is not the least expensive thing you'll ever do. Some of the investments include: repairs, inspection fixes, landscaping, painting, cleaning and staging. While a significant up-front investment, we strongly believe it was off the charts worth it and that we got a great price and a quick sale that went very smoothly. Additionally, Julia is outstanding at working with other Realtors. The buying agent was a great guy and did have some detailed requests along the way. Julia built and preserved that relationship to the point that we were invited to show the new owners the house systems. Meeting them was lovely and we feel great all around with the new owners and that the house will be loved. A big part of that was Julia navigating through the sale. Finally, Julia and Amy were lovely, understanding that we were leaving a home we loved, and very kind balancing that with getting ready to sell. All in all, we highly recommend The Murtagh Team. And, recommend listening carefully to all of their recommendations! They hands down know what they're doing representing you. read more

Julia and her team did an incredible job with our purchase and sale transactions. As the available product was dwindling where we wanted to move and prices dropping where we needed to sell, we still ended up completing the purchase below market rate and an over-asking price sale on the first weekend. Her team helped keep us focused on all action items to assure that everything moved forward in a timely manner. Julia is a leader in her field for obvious reasons. I heartily recommend Team Murtagh for your home sale and purchase. Blair & Cheryl Edsen read more

I have bought and sold a number of houses and am familiar with the process. However, selling my Pleasanton home was challenging since I live out of the area. Julia was a star! Her level of organization is higher than anything that I've ever seen. We received daily updates on when tasks were scheduled and updates when they were completed. I've never worked with anyone prior to this that came even close to providing the white glove experience that Julia and her team provided to us. I can't recommend her highly enough. read more

I met Julia a few years back when we first moved to Pleasanton. Originally we were in the rental market before making a purchase. We wanted to make sure we knew the area 1st. I met Julia when she was listing a rental property. The property was to say the least pure junk. We found her to be extremely rude and unprofessional. I guess in her eyes since we were just renters, it didn't matter how she presented herself. The rental property had tons of issues and when we asked if certain items would be fixed, She became extremely rude to us and was talking down to us like we were not worthy of her time nor that property. She had the attitude of..."Take it or leave it." So we left. Unfortunately, the next year I kept running into her because we were on the market to buy. Once she saw as potential buyers she was friendly and tried to get our business. I'm sorry, but I will never give this lady my business. She has 2 faces to her in my opinion. Extremely nice when she wants something. And extremely rude when she thinks you have no value to her. If you don't believe me.....just simply ask her a few questions about her listing properties. If she doesn't like your questions, especially god for bid you should say something like why is this property listed so hi? You will see the unprofessional side. read more

I recently worked with Julia and Amy as my realtors when I sold my house. They were great! What a fantastic team. Julia has great expertise. She made great suggestions on things to do on my house prior to putting it on the market. She was honest about which improvements would make a difference and which were "nice to have". Amy was fantastic as well. She has great knowledge too. They communicate really well throughout the process. Once I received offers, the presentation of the offers was extremely valuable. I highly recommend Julia and Amy. Their honesty, their expertise, the way they care about their clients all make for a great team and great realtors! read more

Julia and her team did a great job with the sale of my condo. I was a first-time seller and I had a lot of questions. Julia answered all of my questions promptly and provided a timeline on the steps involved in the sale and when each step would occur. Once the condo was listed, Julia and Veronica provided daily email updates about the showings and I really appreciated the follow up. I would definitely recommend the Murtagh Team and wish them continued success. read more

We've been working with Julia Murtagh for over 6 years now both as a buyer and a seller for multiple properties in Pleasanton, CA. Julia has been our go-to Pleasanton Realtor for 8 years, both on the selling and listing side of things, and we highly recommend her for the consummate professionalism, responsiveness, and expertise that she and her team offer. You will get your money's worth with Julia - she works harder than anyone else and truly listens to her clients, addressing their specific needs but also providing candid and relevant information to set everyone up for a satisfying result. Her depth of experience and perspective are invaluable, especially in current times with the constantly changing dynamic of local real estate. We interviewed 3 different local realtors that we did not know. Due to living in the area for 22 years we knew many realtors. We were in a sellers market with Birdland homes moving very quickly. Because of this we felt we needed to negotiate the commission and preferred to do it with a non-acquaintance. We interviewed a neighborhood specialist, a neighbor's agent from outside the area and Julia. We chose Julia because she was direct and straight forward which made her easy to work with. We also preferred using an agent with many contacts but just one assistant so we weren't constantly meeting with various people. We moved very fast with our listing and Julia communicated with us promptly during a busy personal time for her. We sold before going on the MLS with a preemptive offer. We used Julia's wonderful contacts for tree trimming, inspections, and ultimately for movers. . She respected our desire to self-stage. She definitely knows what she is doing, knows Pleasanton, is professional and gets the job done. read more

Julia & Kristy sold our West Pleasanton home within our tight timeframe, with 11 offers, and $430k over asking. The Stager recommended neutral paint, new carpet & updated light fixtures & HD bulbs. It was 100% up to us to implement the changes or not. The contractors Julia recommended were very reasonable, worked fast & did an excellent job. The photographer she uses is awesome and they spared no expense to market the property. Julia & Kristy kept in constant communication with us throughout the process. We were highly impressed with ALL aspects of our transactions. Don't hesitate to give either of these ladies a call if you need to sell or looking to buy. read more

Julia represented us when selling our home last month. Throughout our preparations she had solid advice that I feel really helped us get top dollar for our home. She also was very cognizant of how complicated selling logistics were for us with crazy work schedules, kids and dogs- which can be difficult when making our home available and scheduling all the associated appointments. I greatly valued that she always 'looked out for us' as her clients. Julia is incredibly responsive and readily available when needed. We are so grateful to have Julia as a friend and our realtor. Purely professional from start to finish. She is extremely knowledgeable in the real estate industry. Julia invested her time and knowledge, recommending what things I needed to do to get the best price for my house. She enlisted her team of professionals to help me do what I needed to have my home ready to sell. Julia is sincere, hardworking, and dedicated to her clients. She truly cares and it shows. We were extremely satisfied with Julia, Amy, and the Murtagh team representing our sale of our single-family home in Pleasanton. During our first meeting, Julia, Amy, and her team immediately helped us develop a strategy to sell our house quickly at a favorable price point in a challenging real estate market. It was clear from our strategy meeting that they were knowledgeable about our neighborhood and other areas of Pleasanton as well as comparable markets in the Tri-Valley, and it helped us identify how to best prepare our home to go on the market. As inexperienced sellers, Julia and Amy were responsive, supportive, and patient with our questions and offered sound advice on making our house attractive to buyers. Both Julia and Amy represented us well in sale negotiations. They were extremely professional with potential buyers, effectively communicated the buyer landscape when we put our house on the market, had great instincts during negotiations. They kept us in the loop during the entire process. All of this led to a quick, smooth sale at a great price point, and this allowed us to take advantage of the changing real estate market when we became buyers. We highly recommend Julia, Amy, and the Murtagh team if you are considering selling or buying your home in the Tri-Valley area. read more

My husband and I just sold our home in Pleasanton with Julia as our agent. From the time we first met with her it was obvious she was a true professional with a strong understanding of the current real estate environment, as well as how to best market our home for maximum exposure. She is well connected and was able to put us in contact with service providers to get the house ready to sell, and then did an amazing job marketing our home. Julia was responsive to any question, no matter how small, and she also interviewed and put us in touch with a realtor 3000 miles away who helped us find and move in to our dream home. The end result was multiple offers far exceeding our asking price, and we couldn't be happier. Thanks for everything Julia! read more

If you want a realtor who is listens to you, fights for you, and is dedicated to finding you the perfect home, Julia is the way to go! My husband and I just had our first child and so were quickly outgrowing our tiny apartment. We were finally ready to buy our first home and started looking in late 2011. Little did we know at the time, we were entering a very competitive market, crawling with buyers but lacking in inventory - especially in our price range. Complicating matters, we gave Julia a challenging wish list. There were a few things that we wanted that were just non-negotiable - including being very picky as to the locations we would consider. Julia stuck with us through thick and thin and fought for us through several multiple-offer situations. After six long months, we found the perfect home. With Julia championing our cause, the seller chose to go into contract with us, and today we are living happily ever after in our new home. Julia's expertise, perseverance, encouragement, and bright smile made our house hunt enjoyable and - most importantly - successful! read more

Julia is (IMHO) arguably the most knowledgeable real estate agent serving the Pleasanton area. She has an amazing housing database (yes, she was probably an engineer in another life) in her brain, which covers every house in the area that she rules over. She knows the history of every house (and listing agent) going back over a decade. If you thought that this trait was enough for you to jump and sign her up for your next real estate transaction, wait for the next data point. Julia is a nice person through and through, and wants you to be happy with your housing decision. She will not allow you to make a mistake in the heat of the moment, or under under real-estate duress, that you may regret later. She will give you her frank and unbiased advice that is best for you. We did work with some other realtors from the area, but I am happy that Julia was the one we settled with. She got us a perfect home, which suits our needs beautifully. God bless Julia, and God bless Pleasanton. read more

Julia Murtagh was definitely the most professional, and knowledgeable real estate agent I have ever met. When I put my house on the market March, 2017.
