After a very disappointing experience at Vision City, I decided to try America's Best Contacts &…read moreEyeglasses on Route 17K--and the difference was immediate. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted by two staff members who were courteous, attentive, and professional. I asked if they accepted walk-ins, and not only did they say yes, they were ready to assist me right away. I honestly didn't expect them to take my insurance, so that was a pleasant surprise. The entire experience was smooth and efficient. The exam was conducted with modern, up-to-date equipment, and even though the doctor was virtual, it didn't take away from the quality of care at all. In fact, the doctor was patient, informative, and open to answering my questions--including where he trained and his experience. The staff was just as knowledgeable and took the time to explain the technology and process in detail. When it came time to choose my glasses, no one rushed me. The team made sure I felt comfortable, supported, and confident in my choices. From start to finish, everything took about an hour, and I walked out feeling like a valued customer. The pricing was fair, with options ranging from affordable to higher-end, and they even carried the Meta glasses I had been curious about. Based on this experience, I've already scheduled my son to come in as well. To put it simply, this was the complete opposite of what I experienced elsewhere. Professionalism, respect, and efficiency still matter--and this team delivered on all three. At the end of the day, where you spend your money matters. Choose businesses that treat you like you matter too--because anything less? That's a different dimension altogether... and not the one you want to be stuck in.

It's less than if you bought one pair. They are on top of their appointments, giving updates as needed, and the whole experience lasted about an hour. Glasses take about 2 weeks to come in (could be sooner). I really liked my eye doctor (I can't find the card with her name), she was really personable and truly loved her job. I also really enjoyed Zanetta. She helped me choose the right frames and package that I needed and never once did I feel like she was overselling. She had such a nice and professional manner about her. I left feeling taken care of and valued, which, for a chain, is rare. I appreciated the visit and the care.

I confirmed this appointment on August 24, 2026, at approximately 2:13 PM and advised that the appointment had been arranged through the VA Community Care Program. I subsequently received a reminder telephone call from Horizon Group confirming the appointment. On August 31, 2026, I traveled approximately 20 miles to the appointment location and arrived prior to my scheduled appointment time. Upon arrival, I completed approximately five pages of intake paperwork. I was then interviewed by a technician who reviewed my medical history, medications, and eye condition and performed multiple diagnostic tests. This process took approximately 25 minutes. After the evaluation was completed, I was informed that Dr. Daniel Ahn would see me shortly. When Dr. Ahn entered the examination room, he immediately advised that he would not perform the surgery and stated that he does not perform surgery for Veterans Administration patients because the VA does not pay him. I asked whether the VA had been notified that he would not provide services under the Community Care Program. Dr. Ahn indicated that he would send a letter. At no point before my arrival was I informed that services would be refused. Had the practice notified either me or the VA in advance, I would not have incurred the unnecessary travel time and expense, nor would I have spent time completing paperwork and undergoing preliminary testing. The paperwork provided by the practice includes a provision assessing patients a $100 fee for cancellations within 24 hours of an appointment. In this case, the appointment was effectively canceled by the provider after I had arrived, completed paperwork, and undergone preliminary evaluation. I request reimbursement for my travel expenses and compensation equivalent to the cancellation fee imposed upon patients. My estimated damages, including travel, tolls, and the wasted appointment, total $250.
